I was blessed enough to meet Todd Park Mohr at The Blue Note Waikiki in 2020, And I can tell you that he is as gentle in his personality as he is in his singing style.. Sweet and calm.. He was so gracious and polite. Not a rock star but a Human star.. Thanks Todd.. For giving me life long memories..
I'm only 60 but I was lucky to see these guys in the dive bar days in fla. Early 90s . My wife and I bought them a round , rolled em a fatty and danced all night. Best times of my life. They have been the soundtrack to many gatherings and good times.
Genesis 2:6 "On the 8th day God created all musical instruments, amplifiers, and electricity outlets, and a band called Big Head Todd & the Monsters and He placed all of this in the Garden"
hell even the computer CAN make good music its just that the mainstream music companies make what's popular, not what's groundbreaking or actually good
Went to see these dudes in Iowa City many years ago. Bouncer asked Todd for his ID to get in the section of the bar with the stage. Todd said he was in the band. The bouncer didn't believe him. I was behind Todd and stepped up to tell the bouncer that this guy was the star of the band. The bouncer let him in. Todd thanked me. I told him my name was Todd also. We had a right on moment and they kicked ass that night. Good dudes.
Todd Goodwin. A year late with comment but still holds. Cool story haha. You were in right place at right time! HeyTodd’s my man, let him in! Thanks Todd! A great moment fir sure. And no doubt he has told it a few times too.👍
Got to meet Todd Park Mohr 12/2019 in Waikiki at the Blue Note. And I can tell you that he is as gentle in his personality as he is in his singing style.. Sweet and calm.. He was so gracious and polite.
I know it's 10 years too late to be commenting on this video, but aren't Big Head Todd and the Monsters so great? And isn't Red Rocks about the best place ever to see a show?!?!
One of the most under rated bands in the history of music! If they were from Los Angeles, Nashville, etc instead of Denver, CO, not a big music town, they would have a million subscribers getting 10 million views regularly!
Heck yes! Finally saw them last month at the windjammer in the isle of palms, sc. now we will see them in ATL 2023. Waiting on those Red Rocks tickets!
@@kevinhubbard4582 A few of these guys graduated from Columbine which is in Littleton, CO a Denver suburb and a few miles closer to #RedRocksAmpitheater which has the best natural sound enhancers of all time!
There's a lot of snow in spring and I can't remember The last time that I've seen her The highway is still cold and wet and I can't forget The way I had to leave her And every passing day, she flickers and she fades Is someone to catch her when she falls from the heavens? And I'll love her yet, though she has done me wrong And I'll bring her back, though she has been long gone And I'll always be her Broken hearted savior And every heavy night Takes out the little life that's left within her Every man she gives her love, he takes it And leaves her with a dinner Our love was once a flame, now I'm just a forgotten name Am I the only one to blame for ever loving her? And I'll love her yet, though she has done me wrong And I'll bring her back, though she has been long gone And I'll always be her Broken hearted savior
Man, I don't know a better song to rock on when you wake up at 11pm nap, feeling angry about injustice in this world..makes me BETTER than when I was 17. I'm 72, and with age comes WISDOM!!
Awesome....I'm 54 and I'm better than I was when I was 22, but I sure do miss those days. I wasn't obligated to anyone, I was free...and the music was THE BEST
When I met my wife back in 2003, we were checking out each other's CD collections and discovered that we both had Big Head Todd & The Monsters. We've always said that we wanted to see them play live. Well, 21 years later, we finally saw them last weekend at House of Blues in Anaheim. It was a great show. Next time, we're going to invite some friends.
Another one of those great fkn bands that really didn't get their due! Loved these guys from the very first song I heard by them! This song, one of their absolute best!!! Big Head Todd fan for life!
My 3 daughters also Jeff! They grew up on these guys too, as well as Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Cult, The Cure, REM, Smithereens, Ramones, Radiohead, and so many more. And then of course, Pink Floyd, Ratt, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Soundgarden, Queensryche, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Live, and so forth and so on......
Got to catch BHTM at the Blue Note Hawaii. 01/05/20 9pm show. Todd was nice enough to allow me to go back to the green room afterwards to say hi to the guys and briefly reminisce. He was so nice and gracious. He shook my hand a few times.. Thanks for the life long memory..
I just heard about these guys tonight. 4-1-2019.This is no April fools Day joke. This gal asked me if i ever heard of Big Head Todd & the Monsters. I was like, Nooooo. I looked them up on Spotify and every song I listened kicked ass. Wow. Where have these guys been. I'm now doing RUclips Live Concert searches of them. I'm a fan.
Just turned 20 and discovered y’all’s music. I’m absolutely floored with how good this band is! My dad listened to “Bittersweet” pretty often on cat rides, but I had no clue other than that. The passion that goes into these performances is absolutely awesome to me. The lyrics are top notch and the skill is nearly unparalleled. Anyways, y’all have gained a fan for sure. I’m looking forward to going to one of y’all’s concerts next year if I can, hopefully when I’m 21 and can enjoy a good drink too.
It's so nice to see a band that's really into it, enjoying themselves, not just going through the motions. Love the way the drummer is so intense. Not to mention Todd's riffs.
I have loved these guys for the last 20 years, but these Red Rocks recordings are amazing! My hat's off to the engineers at this concert - best sound ever!!
I saw U2 there in 83, REO, Cheap Trick, OMD and Robert Palmer there. Best Concert Venue in the World. Better than Hollywood Bowl. Too bad we won't see positive gatherings like this again for a long time.
I remember driving around in my 1989 Ford Probe, and when a Big Head Todd and the Monsters song came on, I would crank it up and jam. Just always liked their combo of melodic tunes, and funky jam/rock.
Liked your post and you reminded me of my ratty, but great old 94 Probe -- fine ride....all over the eastern coast from Maine to FL., listening to this groove CRANKED UP!
Todd, when are you guys coming back to Connecticut to see all your fans?!!! We love you and miss you and have a brand new Amphitheater in Bridgeport waiting for your return. Make it happen in 22!!!
Comes a time when music is reaches out and touches you.....when a group plays to their fans....and they feel IT. This group..this song....this moment captures that experience. Truly a band that leaves their fans 'experienced'....WORD! ❤
Have just discovered these guys, two months ago. Its like, "how have they remained hidden for so long?" Todd is up there towards the John Fogerty class. Great singer, awesome guitarist and very special songwriter. Backed up by an elite bass player and a seriously, seriously gifted drummer. SO glad I found em.
I have seen these guys twice in Eugene Oregon. Small venues are the best. The last time it was the same venue I saw Chris Cornell the first time. Front row seats. The best.
Brings back memories. Saw them live twice. Just now realized how underated a guitar player he is. Hope YT gives them more access to a younger audience. ROCK ON!
Most underrated band in the history of bands. Period.
4 sure👍. If there ever is a next time. I will fly my mom out to see them .
Seen them 8 times and never gets old. Fantastic! Can’t wait to see them this summer with blues traveler
I agree..trekked to red rocks in '19 to see them....awesome show

I went to college with Todd and we took italian class together. Todd is a super nice guy and he was pretty good at italian.
All great to hear because that is exactly his vibe!!!

No computer, no auto-tune. Real music. What a concept.

Lucky SOB. Lol. Cool
I would have loved to see them live. And mini bottles and joints of course 😂
I'm 72 and it pisses me off that I just found these guys. They are right up there with the classics that I listened to in Vietnam.
Pops served two tours at Biên Hòa AFB. Agent Orange finally took him. Cancer, of course.. What a stupid war..
I agree, having been in the same place.
Long way to go!! I'm 59 & my mom is 87..Rock on!! Exercise, walk. Be positive! No negatives. Set high Goals!! Blessings!
They still play! Check big head Todd in the monsters monthly you'll love it

Genesis 2:6 "On the 8th day God created all musical instruments, amplifiers, and electricity outlets, and a band called Big Head Todd & the Monsters and He placed all of this in the Garden"
Back in the 90's, majority of bands were whiny and complaining about everything. This band stood alone
One day, I will go see them play in colorado at red rocks.
