I am a jeans girl. They are so versatile, you can dress them up with a blazer or a jean jacket with a nice blouse with a couple of dainty necklaces. Finish the look off with a kitten heel pump. For a casual look, a casual top with a belt & some nice pair of sneakers or flats. I love a simple sheath dress paired with a blazer or jean jacket. Some jewelry & kitten heal pumps. I’m 75 & I get so many compliments. I love classic blazers, jean jackets, & leather or faux leather or faux fur jackets. These have stayed in style & are great staples in your wardrobe. If you take care of yourself & look & feel good, that’s what is important 💖
Your wardrobe sounds like mine right down to the shift dresses. They have always been flattering on me and I have always worn them at every age. I can't think of a time when they weren't in style. Twice a year Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer I come up with my personal "uniform" and I stick to it pretty strictly. It almost always includes jeans except for Summer when it is too hot- then it is dresses. It helps me shop and get dressed without a fuss. This Fall/Winter will be fitted knit blouses/tops (I love Anne Fontaine blouses), a cardigan and jeans.
I always go through my closet each year and try on all of my clothes. As I age, (I am 67) I often notice that an item I once loved on myself does not look flattering on me. It could be the color or silhouette. That item will go into my pile of clothes to donate or sell. I gave up wearing heels over 10 years ago. I love loafers and ballet flats because they are stylish and comfortable. I will only purchase sandals with an arch support. Thank you Beth, for reminding us to dress in a way that provides us with confidence. Yes to shorts!
I’m 54 extremely fit take care of myself and I will never give up wearing high heels…. I absolutely love them and I think they just add class to my outfit..
At 60 I have totally revamped my whole wardrobe. I’ve never worn cropped tops, low rise jeans or short shorts. Not even when I had the body. All of the heels are going on sale on Poshmark. I’ve always been a classic Ralph Lauren Girl. I’ve never liked the shredded, light wash, or bleached out jeans, they make your thighs look bigger. No one wants that. Thank you for all the tips Beth. Love your channel.
I'm 60 also and am revamping as well. I decided a few years ago I was "too old for flip flops", so I stopped those (besides I have bunions from wearing flip flops so I learned and also high heels foe years 😂) and lately I decided I'm "too old for tshirts", even the ones (never wore collectible tees oe any with any kinds of writing on them - yikes) so I have lots more blouses and tops, sweater tanks, etc. I rarely wear jeans anymore and am soo glad I never amassed a big collection of them
Beth, totally agree that pearls are forever - I have two different sets, with matching earrings. I wear them all the time. I think we should all choose clothes that enhance our figures - keeping it classy. I just did a huge edit of my closet 👍🏻❤️. Love your fashion sense and your channel!
You are right, however if your legs are full of veins, your stomach is fluffy and your arms are saggy, no one wants to see that! 😂 I say, use your common sense and realize you aren't twenty any more, so dress classy not trendy. You don't have to look frumpy just because you are older, just don't try to look like a teenager. We have all seen the women who are trying to hang onto their youth by dressing in fads designed for teens and young adults. It is embarrassing and sad. So much more attractive to age gracefully and look stunning. Think Jackie O or Grace Kelly, they maintained their elegance as they aged. 😊
Totally AGREE 💯 especially if you look much younger like myself. It helps if you are fit too. I wouldn’t go out in a miniskirt past 50 or a crop top but skinny jeans SURE !! I’ve never had plastic surgery and no one believes my age man or woman.
Beth, you are rock in’ RED!!!! Amazing color on you. I remember seeing you perhaps a year or more before in an orange dress! That looked great on you. Thanks for always sharing great ideas …
I’m a retired nurse and I can’t forget what one of the doctors told us about those tight low rise jeans. He said some people looked like a popped can of biscuits.. 😂 I think I need to pass on some high heels in my closet as I have arthritis in my feet. Time goes by way too fast,
Another terrific video, what would we do without you Beth? I always assess my wardrobe every few years based on what I feel comfortable and confident in and what no longer works for me.
As a petite, I've kept my skinny jeans but absolutely agree. Many of us NEVER should've been wearing them. On another note Beth, what, if any, cosmetic procedures have you used on your arms/legs. I am lean, work out, but the wrinkly, loose skin on my arms and inner thighs shouts my 66 years. You have amazing skin on your arms and legs. Would love to know all that you've done and any creams you may have found that helps. Thanks for all the inspiration and beauty you add to the world.
Honestly, I don't do anything special for my arms and legs. But they are making some great moisturizes for crepey skin that you might consider. I've used Gold Bond and Necessaire. I'm of the mindset it can't hurt! And Pilates and strength training are a must for me! We have to pump some iron to keep our muscles in tact.
Your absolutely spot on with your honest and very helpful advice it’s so refreshing to watch your wonderful videos,I’ve subscribed some time ago and to be honest I haven’t looked back my mind is now open for change and I’m reaping the rewards with a boost in confidence. Eva from Scotland
I always love your suggestions. UGH the dreaded muffin top! Fashion for me has really changed.Im at the point where I dont like anything binding or uncomfortable. Being stylish yet comfy has been my challenge. I love all of your outfits in this video. Great job!
The red shirt really looks lovely on you. I have a pair of Gingiberri earrings and they are beautiful. I remember the short shorts song and I laugh every time. 😊
I just found your channel and I’m so thankful. I’m 62 and love to travel. You have lovely information we need around our age and really any age. You are so elegant and classy. I really enjoy your videos ❤
Absolutely agree with your style ideas colour co-ordination. Shapewear makes me feel like a new woman! And also a great haircut. I keep a wish list now for clothes to look for in sales and replace items that are past it. Thank you so much for your channel makes so much sense.
I just loved your video, Beth. You are so classic and elegant. I love clothes and like you, I am tall , have grey , short hair, but with a little more around the middle than I like and nearly 70. 😬 Living in Australia, our seasons are opposite to you but you still cater for those of us watching you from the other side of the world. ❤
@@BethDjalali Wrong! Sneakers are the shoes of choice for lazy people with zero class who follow every stupid trend the media promotes. Classy people wear shoes when they leave the house. Sneakers are for training only.

Im so relieved reading the comments! I turned 60 this year and have been struggling with my closet. I work in business casual with no jeans. As a plus size person its hard to find that balance.
Your video was filled with great ideas! I’m 81 & need to discard some of my clothes. You look amazing; thanks for guiding us to dress more beautifully 🥰
Hi Beth, you really hit on items l never wore and items l got rid of. What about if l wear my t-shirts under long sleeve blouses in the fall and winter, l have some l just purchased from Banana Republic? I thank you for great advice, blessings.
Not sorry to see skinny jeans disappear, I never liked them but for a time it was difficult to find other styles of jeans, the selections were limited. That is changing, which makes me very happy. In defense of low rise slacks, my waist size is out of proportion with my other measurements, so high waist pants that fit me properly in the waist are baggy in the hips & legs. I don’t wear ultra low rise but I avoid high waist pants. Thank you for sharing this, very interesting & thought provoking! I’m happy to say I won’t need to revamp my closet!
I just invested in a couple pair of linen Bermuda shorts. It’s so hot here in Arizona that dresses are the order of the day. After this month the shorts will come in handy.
I love pearls, they set an outfit off. I’m not into anything over powering. I love the delicate chains they are layering now. They look so classy with a casual or a more dressed up look. I’m not comfortable wearing mules. No strap around the back or ankle & very dangerous. I have some for a while & decided to skip them. I prefer a sling heel or a simple low heal pump. So many beautiful, comfortable ones to choose from. I want comfort & safety. Same with boots & booties. They are comfy & secure. You can wear the stacked heel or a low heel with a wider bottom which gives you the added safety. This type of heel is what I go for in a pump also. Some many comfortable, stylish, & safe shoes to choose from. ❤
I agree with most of your style and advice. I see so many beautiful older women badly dressed. My only comment is that you really appear to be taller and so look great in wider-legged pants but for those of us below 5”3” they make us look short and stubby especially if we are an apple shape and carrying a little extra weight. I personally would never tuck in my shirts as I have the aforementioned apple belly but find tunics too long. It’s quite a challenge to look elegant in a short, rounder body but your advice is always good.
I'm 5'2" and I wear wide leg linen or cotton pants. I love them. They're cool and breezy in summer and I don't feel they overwhelm my frame at all. If you find a tunic you love that's too long for you you could always take it to a tailor to be altered. I personally don't like tunic tops as they're not good for my proportions.
I think you wear whatever you find comfortable-no judgement. But I wonder if you are slim which really helps when wearing wider pants. I’m carrying extra weight around my middle which adds width and makes my legs look like tree trunks in wider pants as they hang from my widest point. I don’t think leggings are necessarily the only alternative. A great straight leg or trouser are very nice-I’m just observing how Beth looks wonderful as she is taller and can carry an elegant look easier than my short, apple body.
I’m a curvy 5’2’. Turtlenecks are a no-no. When I saw a snapshot of me in a turtleneck, it looked as if I had a pumpkin resting between my shoulders. My neck completely vanished! Lower necklines such as V necklines, U necklines or square necklines solve the problem. I avoid ballet flats. They always gap when walking and I feel like a penguin. Shoes with two inch heels are best.

Like your style, Beth. I am over 70 and love my denim. I have tried the pull on styles but prefer the conventional. Fabric combos in jeans confuse me. There is such a thing as too stretchy.
Excellent tips and totally agree! I have a question regarding the LTK Conference in Dallas-is there a RUclips Fan meet & greet or something similar? I’m in Dallas and it would be so fun to see my faves in person ❤
RUclips always has a big presence at VidCon every year. That would be your best bet. But LTK doesn't segment by each social channel. It's a conference for their top earners. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your tips. I am 71 but still enjoy wearing the same style I wore when I was younger. That being jeans, t-shirts, blouses, knee length skirts and dresses. Sometimes I struggle with what to wear. I feel like I may be stuck in a time zone but I don't want to look frumpy.
Since going thru menopause & even though I am past it I can walk into a store to look at sweaters & get immediate hot flashes so have opted not to give them up I just wear a top & drape the sweater over my shoulders but never can I put one over my head anymore I feel like I am smothering!!
I have a couple of ‘fitted’ shirts that just didn’t feel or look right. So I removed the darts through the midriff area (removed the stitching to open them up). Gained a couple of inches of breathing room and they look and FEEL ‘relaxed’. EASY FIX!
I am 71 and was so glad when high waist pants returned to the fashion scene. I have a pronounced sway back and can’t even comfortably wear mid rise pants. They ride up in the back and dip too low in the front. Not looking forward to the day when I can’t get high waists again. Which is why sewing comes to my rescue more often than not. I can make what suits me and not what fashion says I must wear. And after all isn’t that what style is, knowing what looks best on you no matter what the trends. 😉
I'm glad you spoke too about the importance of good lingerie, a lady mentioned to me about "biker short" for skirts and dresses, whiich I love! Yet, in my teens and twenties... I owned full and half slips☺️. -💚*🙏🏽
Thanks so much for your channel! I really appreciate your insights. Can you please direct attention to those of us with different body types? As a pear shape and more chubby, I don’t tuck in blouses or tops. Also button down blouses are out for me as I have one arm larger than another. I love a simple more elegant style and I think I can look good despite these shortcomings with some guidance.
I am a jeans girl. They are so versatile, you can dress them up with a blazer or a jean jacket with a nice blouse with a couple of dainty necklaces. Finish the look off with a kitten heel pump. Age doesn’t dictate what you should and shouldn’t wear. If you are comfortable with a certain style by all means wear it.
Then by all means wear crop tops or mini skirts or any other suggestions made in the video. Style is always about personal preference.
You are right, however if your legs are full of veins, your stomach is fluffy and your arms are saggy, no one wants to see that! 😂 I say, use your common sense and realize you aren't twenty any more, so dress classy not trendy.
EASY FIX!
That's a great idea!

Love this video 😊
Glad you liked it!!

Love your red top. Do you have a link?
I do! rstyle.me/+hHJgjSS1YXmn55HAguGvgw
I'm glad you spoke too about the importance of good lingerie, a lady mentioned to me about "biker short" for skirts and dresses, whiich I love! Yet, in my teens and twenties...
I owned full and half slips☺️.

At 77 I use a 9 inch inseam. Bremuda shorts for me now

Great information!
Glad it was helpful!
Boy, do I remember that Nair ad every summer !
It was a catchy jingle back in the day!
you look fantabulous!
Thank you!
I agree with most, but draw the line at high waisted pants. Due to a very short waist, I tend to look like Steve Erkel 😂
Loving yourself while loving yourself helps you to heal , grieve & makes others want to love you !
All is my choice❤
❤❤❤
I totally agree with you!!
I'm so tired of older women telling me what to wear!
Quelle classe ❤ toujours très bien conservé malgré l'age ❤❤
Merci!
