like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
The motion sensor is one of the most essential accesoiry in your hue home setup. So cool everything turns on, while on your way trough your house, also very handy at night when you have to visit the toilet, bathroom or kitchen, and kids who leave the lights on I'm still want to figure out to turn lights on in my complete livingroom at a specific brightness and scene at a certain time.
@Geek Street. Thanks for the review. I was wondering: This particular situation. Imagine you are relaxing in the living room with some ambient light, let's say more dimmed lights than the standard trigger setting from the sensor. Will Hue overrule and know you turned on the light manually and ignore motion or will it keep triggering the different light setting. Hope It is understandable
I decided to buy 2 of these sensors, work nice however I have 2 issues that I don’t like: Situation 1: You are in the living room with ambient lights on that you set yourself manual through the app, for example very low Edisonlight. Every time someone else or yourself walks or stands up the light turns bright again because of the sensor. My issue is technically the Hue Sensor should know that you are already in the room with sufficient light. If you are enjoying a family dinner and your dogs or somebody walks in you have bright light all the time. Is there a function that the manual setting can overrule the sensor as long as it’s on ? Situation 2: In my kitchen the lights turn on and stay on for 5 minutes, because I usually need something from the fridge or a glass or whatever. Now when I am cooking the lights dim after 5 minutes even though the sensor knows I’m still cooking ??? Why can’t this thing notice I’m still there and keep the lights on ? I mean every time it sees me moving just add 5minutes again ?? Anyone has a solution for this ?
So this can only work with a lightbulb? i have 5 phillips hue motion sensors that i cant connect.. and its because i dont have this bulb? can it be any smart bulb?
So this is only for turning on things? I bought two so I can get notifications on my phone if it detects motion but this doesn't do that at all? It's just for freaking lights??
If you go on eBay, they sell different colour to match your decor if needed covers? I think are plastic printed. They fit perfectly with cut out for front sensors. I have two. Cheers Mr South.
Just a slight variation Mr South. Not to be trying to call you out on anything but you can actually use a sensor with a Phillips bulb without the Hue Bridge. It's only an on/off operation though. Videos on RUclips. Thanks Mr South. :-)
My hue bulb flashes a split second before the light turns on. I have the same ssetup as you, everything is updated and all. Any idea how I can fix this? If I turn on the light normally it doesnt happen.
It's got a 160° field of view so you wouldn't need to angle it at all but if you did the wall it's placed on and the length of the mount would limit the range of motion so your idea of a ball mount 1:36 is moot!!!
I don't care about the motion sensors, only the daylight sensitivity. I have a Phillips hue hub, but want to know if the daylight sensitivity can trigger events in either smartthings or alexa

@Colten Samir thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it !
@Shawn Troy happy to help =)
Nice especially for those of us with mobility issues who use wheelchairs, canes , etc. !!

🥳
Very clear insteuctions, with the splitscreen. Goog job!
Great video and spot on about the ball like design

Very good video, bought one works perfectly in the hall way - no more Dad turning off the lights every 5 minutes. 👍
Thank you, dad, for saving us money and reducing light pollution.
Do you have to have a Hub in order to use the sensor and lights?
Is a bridge required?
Yes
What was the other box, the one that was connected to your power and internet ?
Do I need to buy that also to make the light bulb work
Does this require wifi to work or once the installation and settings are done, the motion sensor works offline?
Have two of these in my house. Causing me no end of problems at the moment. I will figure it out no doubt. Thanks for the video Mr South.
Lots if comments from you, you making up for lost time 😆
You tried resetting the lot and starting again?
can you set this up via home app on iPhone ?
thanks just what I was looking for im doing outdoor motion sensor but I want to turn on a smart plug for my existing outdoor security lights
Can i connect it directly to Alexa Echo(hub build-in) or Alexa Show ? Or need a Phillips Hub to switch on my lights ? thx
When you find out please lmk lol
Does it needs to be in straight line?
can it trigger other brand lights, and/or other brand wall switches? I have switches that I would like to hook up, without an actual Hue bulb.
I would like to know this aswell
If the lights can he added to the philips hue hub. Then yes it will work.
thanks Man
You're welcome!

Does it turn off the lights once you exit the room?
yes, although my light dims for a while before switching off (in app the behaviour is set for- light to turn off)

give me a sign and i will give you an answer
I have a Phillips Hue Hub. Can I use Philips motion sensor with a smart switch to turn on my lights?

Lets say i want to keep the light on, can i override the sensor turning it off.
Do I still need hue bridge if I have a smart hub (Aeotec) to trigger lights with motion sensor?
So this is only for turning on things? I bought two so I can get notifications on my phone if it detects motion but this doesn't do that at all? It's just for freaking lights??
hi, Does it work with Philips pendant lights as well?
Yes it should do.
Nice video. What is the max time for lights to stay on after movement?
Is it a sensor does allow for the lights or any device turned on as long as I am in the room or does it tun off when Iam motion less? Is there one
I've reviewed a zigbee gateway that can do that....let me know if you want to see and ill try to get the link to it for you.
@@GeekStreet yes will be glad
@@matthewfelix1851 did you got the answer?
In the "Between" setting, I cannot change the End time. It only presents the first time to change. How do you change the end time?

Ah ok great idea!
Very useful
Yeah its pretty good.
Great
Loving the channel so far! I was looking the D-Link motion sensor but it's no longer available. I want something outlet powered. Any suggestions?
You can get the amazon echo flex with a motion sensor accessory
How many months will the sensor last before the batteries need to be recharged? Thanks
Just got one a couple days ago. It say the batteries should last 2 years before you would replace the batteries. The motion sensor is not rechargeable

Ah ok I didn't didn't realise I'll look it up at some point.

Does this makes a " Click " noise like standart sensors when it detects a movement??
No
@@GeekStreet niice ! :) thanks alot.

I can’t find the accessories area / button

He is mounting it the wrong way for angle positions. It should go using the outer circle.
what's the battery life?
2 years
Can you use the daylight sensitivity to control other lights wifi bulbs through smartthings or Alexa?
I don't care about the motion sensors, only the daylight sensitivity. I have a Phillips hue hub, but want to know if the daylight sensitivity can trigger events in either smartthings or alexa
You may be able to using ifttt that allows different smart tech to link together.
I’m having trouble using ‘Sensor Snooze’ through my Alexa. A very powerful feature, if I could just get it to work!
it's all fun and games until it suddenly lights up when you were busy playing
What is the minimum distance? For kitchen I need it to trigger only when I am very close to the sensor.
Can I make the light go brighter slowly? So I don't get flashed from one second to another?
I'm giving a thumbs down because you never show how to change the daytime hours or night time hours.
