I live in a 2 floor flat and invested in Phillips bulbs, the hue bridge, dimmer switch and spotlights. I do not recommend it for the simple reason that the bridge can only work on one floor. I'd hoped to connect my entire flat lighting, not possible for two floors. Also this dimmer switch can only be used for one bulb and when Phillips updated their app I found that 3 of my light bulbs in the bedroom no longer worked with the app, even after manually entering the serial numbers. Will honestly not recommend Phillips hue to anyone with a house unless you are prepared to buy a hue bridge per room etc. Waste of money.

Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
No electrician required until you want to use it in a bedroom for example. Most light switches are located at the entry to a room and if you don't bypass the switch, then someone (wife) just turns off the switch to the room and the hue is useless. Need to have an electrician bypass the switch, then remove the switch and place this over the top.
You could actually get a plate that goes over your existing switch and covers it and the dimmer can sit in position there. Avoids accidentally turning off and again no electrician required.
