    like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

    Hey there, nice video!
    Can a single bulb be part of multiple zones?

    • @WakkaOwnages
      @WakkaOwnages 3 года назад +2

      @@KShedTech I know you're trying to be funny and all but it's not funny and it has a purpose even if you can't understand it because you are too narrow minded. But I bought lots of bulbs and switches and already found my answer and yes it can be part of multiple zones. The purpose is to make distinct zones light up differently. The scenes can achieve almost the same but are too slow and don't answer in a timely fashion when there are too many bulbs.
      My zones aren't movable, as an easy example think of a room with 24 bulbs I want to light only the odd lights sometimes, other times all the lights, while others I just want 3 turned on. The multiple zones for the same bulbs work like a charm. It also helps for Google Home routines making them much easier.

    • @WakkaOwnages
      @WakkaOwnages 3 года назад +1

      @@KShedTech Lol any philips hue issues are first world problems I guess 😀 The room is the living room and they are GU10 spotlights in a false ceiling. It really doesn't feel like a lot because they are low lumen spotlights and it's really not a mansion, it's just a different configuration of lights.
      As for Alexa I know it's tons better managing that but it doesn't work in my native language and it's boring to always have to speak in English so I went with Google Home. I had to setup everything within the Hue App and call each bulb in each zone like 'Zone A 1' then 'Zone A 2' and tell google home to turn the Zone A on/off. After multiple tries and multiple configurations this is the only way I managed to setup it the way I wanted to.

      Nope also. Full of features, so many things you can do with them and connect practically any Smart Home device too. I naturally use many of the features without evening thinking about it. But still rely on them. it’s a home infrastructure, most take home lighting for granted and loose out so much of the benefits IOT lighting brings to a home. You say expensive but devide across the years you have them for and electricity you save, they are a cost effective system that pays for itself over time. Yes there are cheaper alternatives, but LIFX and Hue, Yeelite are the most compatible with things like Smart Things, IFTTT etc.. possibly unaware of half what I’m talking about but worth looking into, if this video bought you here and were quick to make the rash decision. I would at least like to think those like me, who invest into this should not do it half hearted.
