At 30 knots each burns 60 litres an hour, rising to 220 litres per hour at 40 knots ($900/hour in fuel burn for all 5 engines at today's prices). The engines cost $90,000 each retail, considerably less when you're buying 5 at once.
My 300 Mercury verado gets 32 gph at wide open throttle. So yeah. I'm sure this thing is drinking fuel like a top fuel dragsters. Might as well call it a fuel barge . Lol
@@scdevon where did you come up with 80 each? Do you know that's what they burn, or you guessing? Sounds way high to me. I would guess about 160 for all of them at 3/4 throttle, but I could be wrong
@@davo85iz0 I was going by this test. boatingnz.co.nz/articles/power-to-thrill-7-marine-627s/ A pair of 627s on a 35 ft Everglades. 220 liters per hour each at 40 knots. Not an apples to apples test, but the proportions shouldn't be far off. 70 gallons an hour x 5 = ~350 gph. Fuel consumption seems to rise at insane rates with increased speed. At full throttle, it seems like all bets are off.
I bet if you put 87 octane you could make it on say $16.50 per hour as long as you stick around and make that last pizza delivery counting on extra tips every night.
@@scdevon Wow, that's insane. After watching, I would put it somewhere in between our figures. But, your right. I was way off. I couldn't believe it said 30 kts= 60 Lph and 40 kts was 220Lph
I'm not a boat guy but can someone tell me why one of these Seven Marine engines costs as much or more than the entire Corvette Car that they're based on & taken from?
@@theadventurebiker I think they are just really proud of the lower unit....other than that I think its just a dry sump supercharged ls.....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠
I'll never be able to afford such a vessel, so I ask this out of pure curiosity...but what good is that much horsepower on a hull that can only do 55mph when the best you're gonna do fuel wise 148 gph? With a couple of inboard turbo-diesels you could probably double or triple the range and still cruise fast enough to get where you need to go. I can appreciate that anyone with the money thinks nothing of it, but is there any practical point to this?
Get rid of the stack of outboards and install a couple of good diesel inboards........It'll still be a 'center console', yes???? So it won't do 52-knots (the company's goal).........I'd be happy with 30-35 knots.......
Every video I see of this boat there are people complaining about fuel. If you can afford a $3 million boat, the cost of fuel and maintenance probably doesn’t mean as much.
don't get the expensive outboard thing you can pick up a couple built v8's for under 10,000 - same power less gas, less weight, better weight distribution
Why? You could have a 60 foot flybridge yacht and live in luxury with every commodity on board You could have a 60 foot sports yacht and be open to the elements, close a door and push a button and be encapsulated in the finest materials for your good nights sleep...and still travel fast Why this? No usable bathing platform and no space for your tender, unpractical and yet no less expensive
Just get a freaking Viking and be done with it. The 7 Marine engines are notorious for breaking, even well maintained they still break if you look at them wrong, and this thing is way too big to be a center console. I'd take a Viking/Hatteras/Bertram of the same size over this thing any day!
I guess I used the wrong words. You may care but you can afford the fuel. And yes I do own a boat, and one thing I have never heard at the marina from the people that own that class of boat is bitching about fuel useage/cost.
I like it but i think it needs another engine.
but seriously
Card Bug 🤣🤣🤣
It needs 5 or 6 merc v12s

My questions are: 1)How would you know if a motor is running bad? 2)Is there room to add more motors, maybe 2 more?
Sean Riley 1: he has that whole control panel probably electric. 2: no
The Spruce Goose of Center Consoles.
Dale Groves Yes my good man...but, no other man toy can goose your spruce with mermaids like this
Does Seven Marine still do servicing for these engines?
Real professional with no wind guard on mic
You should get a 26 foot wide gill bracket and put like 12 engines on there 👍
Damn, you gotta make at least 17.50 per hour to afford a boat like that!

Great wind noise
Put it in reverse full power, see if you can rip the transom off...now that would be fun.
Lee Vogel lo
Are any of the propellers counter-rotating to offset the torque-roll?
One 7 marine 627 outboard engine cost $90,000.
What's the point? Oh wait, I get it. This boat was built for the remake of McHale's Navy. When will you install the guns?
Are cabin cruisers dead? It has to suck when the elements are less favorable.
Cool boat but that wind noise in your mic is a deal breaker
How does the milage compare to the Wartsila RT Flex96 diesel. Which consumes 1,666 gallions of D4 diesel fuel an hour. At 102 rpm?
$500K in just motors
more than that a lot more
Talk money. One motor is over eighty grand without installation and accessories.

Marina clout?
I couldn't afford the fuel to go take a boat ride in this🤣
The fact that is not inboard is what makes it more appealing...but i would prefer 4 engines instead of 5
Yes, diminishing returns having the 5th motor.
I bet it's great on gas.
Nothing exceeds like excess.
Let’s see the fuel consumption stats.
Just for shits and giggles
Michael Edge 😂😂
Michael Edge Picture a burning oil field. 😂
1800 gal fuel cap. Do they have financing at fuel dock?
Michael Edge You dont really want to see that. Ill guess half gallon per mile.
If you can afford a boat like that fuel consumption is the least of their concerns lol.
Beautiful center console
That wake is huge
Think of how many body's Dexter could've dumped overboard if he'd had this beast!
bermudaguy1 lol
Why does it look like it’s listing port side?
I don't know about that. The center console in my truck is pretty big too! lol
Perfect for Montauk catch some monsters with that thing
It's like a 65' bass boat, only a bass boat will go even faster with only 1 engine.
Thinking about getting my mom one of these for her birthday, just don't know which color.

my guy hydrasports are way too fucking bow heavy for that, plus its a 65 foot yacht. All their boats have a hull speed around 60-70 mph
