    • @TheVonMatrices
      @TheVonMatrices Год назад +11

      But less drag due to fewer shafts in the water, so it wouldn't be as large of a performance difference as you might think. The 600s are also probably more fuel efficient as well. On a boat that big, a 2000lb weight difference is only a few percent of the boat's weight, so I would pick the 600s. But I imagine the primary concern of actual buyers is showing off 6 outboards and that's why it's offered.

    6 engines on any CC is stupid---looks stupid as well ...while it gets up and "goes", a 5 pack looks better and you only loose abot 10mph...not a big deal for a boat this size....I'm questioning all the electrical connections on the transom area where water will over flow from your "slowdown" wake. Great review and great boat for sure...looking at visibility from the 2nd row seats or the helm, he is either short, or visibility is shallow...wonder why Cigarette doesn't update their website to tie into the launch of the boat? Seems they need a new communications director.

    • @TheVonMatrices
      @TheVonMatrices Год назад +2

      All these performance boat builders have terrible websites in that they are not up to date or provide much information. I wonder how many new buyers they actually get? Whenever I see owners of these performance boats, they are either dealers using the boat while it is on sale, or they are people who are diehards that buy a new boat from the brand every few years. It doesn't seem like there's ever new blood.
      Also, I doubt the 6th motor adds as much as 10mph - it's probably closer to 5-6. A bad value unless you want to show off.

      Exactly! I have noticed this on some of the other sextuplet outboard videos. The outer two outboard engines get hammered, and it gets worse with the bigger waves and in a turn. The amount of force involved here is significant. Even with a shortened shaft, they dance around in the gimble mount noticeably. I slowed this video down to try and determine where in the mount the flex was occurring. They must be designed to move like this; otherwise, would have heard news of one ripping off by now.

    Midnight Express 43 ideal size, unless you are going to Bimini type distance, then I like the Midnight Express Vitesse for the hull. This is a big boat, heavy w 6 400s. But money no object category.

    A good friend of mine probably laid-up the 'glas for the hull. He's working on a 63' quad Cat powered (3600 HP+) Cig' right now. If you have to ask "how much" don't bother! Stupid question on the 52' outboard; who adjusts the trim to keep only the back 6 feet of boat in the water on an outboard? Also, do all six props turn the same direction? Most inboards gear the props for different directions to reduce cavitation, or if not "build for max speed" buyers will spec contra-rotating props on each shaft for better low and mid-range performance (so I'm told).

    They Don't Know Anything About Physics... A Boat Can Go Only So Fast Before It Goes Out Of Control.
    Flips Over When It Hits Wake Or Wind Getting Under Hull, Hull Or Transom Breaker Apart Due To Excessive Weight. Cavating With So Many Propellers Not Drawing Water But Air. Why Don't You Go Out In The Ocean And Open It Up Full Throttle And See What Happens When Y'all Hitting Waves.
    A Boat Hull Can Only Go So Fast Due To Physics. "Coefficient Of Friction."

      The rocket guys calculate center of lift at 1/4 chord ( that’s the name ). How would a boat look like that has this center also while on the water? I guess that a hydroplane would not flip over. A monohull or catamaran would need a step at 1/3 and engines before step and then just some wake filler so that the light tails doesn’t suck at the water.
      Maybe step at 1/2 and some bat-wings at the tail.

      Hydroplanes Boats, Monohull Race Boats, Cat Hull Boats, Etc. All Can Flip, Break Apart, Crash, Etc. With Too Much Horse Power. This Boat Is Excessive In Motors. As Stated Any Hull Design Can Only Go So Fast, Due To Physics. I Love Boats & Fast Boats As I Own Five + Boats. Two Race Boats, One Which Is A Hydroplane Hull. This Boat Could Go Just As Fast With Only Four Of Those Motors. This Boat Is Only A Show Off Boat. Like I Said, Let's See It On Video Taking On Five Foot Waves / Wake At
      Full Throttle. Transom Cracks, Motor Falls Off, Boat Flips Or Crash.
      Happy Boating.

      3000 HP SHOULD move it faster than 79 MPH (68.64 Knots) in a 52' hull I'd think. I THINK (I'm no boat guy) 3, 1000 HP inboard Cats would push it 80 KNOTS. My buddy David, the 'Glas layer, could ask the "Eggheads" at work. Man, how much STEEL must be in that transom??? And how far up the hull does that frame reach??? I've seen a Cigarette inboard being built. 2000+ HP takes some FRAME to hold them in the boat. How the heck do you keep SIX engines in sync???

    • @ArneChristianRosenfeldt
      @ArneChristianRosenfeldt Год назад +1

      @@mrmarkthompson2361 other boats can. It is a gamble how you jump in the air. But with the heavy engine in the back, a vehicle tries to reverse even if you get a good start into the air. Compare a modern rally car with Porsche 911! Where is the engine in a P51 mustang? Even mid engine cars get long tails and wings on high speed circuits.
      Boat people have more money than brain compared to other vehicle owners.

    Lovely looking boat but....... Engines look extremely shaky at speed. Also why would ANYONE want their floor to become the tables they eat off? YUCK. Also, electrics at the transom are in a very dangerous place considering water ingress from the rear wash. Lastly, and I am not criticizing much but it's a helm not a dash.
