Tour of my audio review systems in 2024 - A walk-and-talk view of Nottingham Analogue, Manley Steelhead, dCS Rossini Player/DAC/Clock, Aurender N10, ProAc D40R, REL, Veloce, and much more.
It's time to clear the decks so I'm blowing out my two systems and moving to a new, simplified system.
This walk-and-talk review starts out with the Nottingham Analogue Hyperspace turntable, the dCS Rossini Player/DAC, then moves on to the Aurender N10 network streamer/server.
At the heart of the system are the ProAc D40R speakers from the U.K, powered by the Synthesis A100 Titan integrated amp.
Sub frequencies are provided by a pair of REL Carbon Special subs (also reviewed here - • REL Carbon Special And... and on my website at Audio Resurgence here: www.audioresur...
Room acoustics are provided by GIK Acoustics and also utilize DIY QRD Panels.
While I'm a reviewer (hobbyist), everything you see is bought and owned outright, so I don't have a bunch of donated review equipment that I haven't paid for. Therefore all my reviews and comments are free from any manufacturer or dealer pressures. Take note of this as the RUclips review scene has become very tainted, in my opinion, by people who receive free product and act as manufacturers' shills.
In music room two I talk through the Ars Sonum Filarmonia and Merlin Music Systems TSM "Black Magic Edition" speakers, then move to amps by Don Sachs (Kootenay 120), Audio Mirror (SET45), and Audio Art. Digital front-ends include the PS Audio DSJ DAC and the Lumin U1 mini with SBooster upgrade.

I see that your tower speaker has an AMT ribbon tweeter.
After 23 years, in 2023 I bought thin-film AMT ribbon tweeter speaker GoldenEar BRX and I love them so much that I bought a 3rd one as the center speaker for the home theater for matching LCR.

Yes, I like the ribbons in these ProAcs. I've had speakers in the past where the AMT implementation wasn't so good, like the Spatial Audio X3.

Interested in room acoustics, the majority of equipment is above my pay grade. Notice the marantz cd player interested. Large basement the need for acoustics

Yups it sucks to wanna sell DCS, even second hand. I wouldn't trust DCS to repair it right if needed. Because DCS is perfect and so is all their gear 😂😂😂
