My father died ten years ago and i dont know if that's affecting my writing but im just a really obsessive perfectionist such that I'm never happy with what i put down on paper. hello, I’m so sorry to hear about your father. I hope your coping okay. I think a way to push through is to realise the reason you love writing and the whole motive or motif of your book. when writing the first draft of a book, it’s never going to be perfect. there’s some writers who go through 40 more drafts after the first one so the one your writing now will not be perfect. there will be plot holes and unnecessary scenes, too little detail e.c.t. but you shouldn’t find this discouraging. because you can only go up from here!!! I bet ur concept is AMAZING and I’m so happy you want to get it out there! your passion is truly so inspiring to me. and a last hard truth is that writing a book is really hard. it’s a lonely, difficult experience. and sometimes you should give urself more credit because you’ve deserved it ever since you wrote that first word when u were 12. you can do this!! I’m rooting for uuu!!❤️❤️

This is so inspirational. I am also writing three novels; a breakup novel, horror novel, and a mystery novel. The mystery novel i started in April 2022 this year. I’ve started writing when I was 10, but I really got into it in 6th grade, writing cringey short stories. I’ve recently started learning on the craft more, one of my favorite author that gave me advice is Jerry B. Jenkins. He is great at giving advice, I would definitely check him out! His RUclips and blog! He has helped me so much! I am 16 now, and I am glad I never gave up on writing because it is definitely my passion. My English teacher this year said to me that I have ‘a good knack at dialogue’ haha 😂. It’s so fun being a writer to be honest. I learnt all my skill online for the past two years and am still learning. My English teachers never really taught me all the ‘dive-ins’ to the craft, but I’m glad I invested in it more. “Invest in your dreams, not just chase after it.’ -Jay Shetty.

awww that sounds so awesome! i am so happy for you! as for advice and getting ideas, i would maybe recommend getting inspiration from books you've read and music you like to listen to. i like to start with characters, since characters really drive every story. try and brainstorm characters and how they can grow and develop. coming up with the simple things like their names, appearances, where they are from and personality! then a story will organically grow...hope this helped a littleeee!!

Sorry I'm really late to this video I currently have a laptop right now and I'm writing a book I made a book and printed it out but I lost motivation for it and now here I am writing a black girl book for black history month it took a lot of motivation but do you have some advice? It would really help it took me a while to brain storm but yeah it would help if you got me some advice thank you!
awww that sounds so awesome! i am so happy for you! as for advice and getting ideas, i would maybe recommend getting inspiration from books you've read and music you like to listen to. i like to start with characters, since characters really drive every story. try and brainstorm characters and how they can grow and develop. coming up with the simple things like their names, appearances, where they are from and personality! then a story will organically grow...hope this helped a littleeee!!
