Makes the heart fonder. Of the desert land. Makes the wander no further Than I am. Only makes the dream bigger Than the sea washing over the sand Makes your eyes wider Than a beggers hands. Only part of a song I wrote to Ben.❤ He is ❤felt.
I will Always love his first two albums, theyll always be with me, altough the new sound doesnt give me anything i'm glad people are still appreciate him.
It’s not new, no. Was the bonus track on Collections from The Whiteout along with London Portrait and both have been on RUclips for a few years, but it’s cool to get it on Spotify and a video
@@cheezheadz3928 I’m not having a go, just stating a fact. And it being the first time they’ve heard it doesn’t make it new. It means it’s the first time they’ve heard it. But my comment wasn’t shaming or anything.
That recording house is so famous by now. I know the national have recorded songs in there, Fleet foxes did that too and judging from this video, so has Ben which is so fun and interesting
Really glad he’s put this song out but imo the live version he played a few times in 21’ was infinitely better, especially transitioning into There’s Your Man, exceptional stuff… but who knows this version might grow on me, thanks anyway to Ben and team❤
Genuine question, not judgemental, but he’s got 4m listeners on Spotify, I’m assuming (of course could be wrong) that the overwhelming majority of those are because of the first two albums (most likely the first) so why such a shift from that sort of music? I know that there’s a lot of comments about a musical journey, but again I’m assuming there’s a need to sell records to the sound that dragged people in and keeps them there, and the albums onwards have been a long way from that. Just interested as maybe he made enough money to go on to other sounds he’d like to record or if it wasn’t about the money anyway and is just musical preference. Just curious that’s all, personally the first album holds a lot of memories for me for listening to it camping and coming of age I suppose, the second album I adored even though a big change of style, everything else hasn’t been my cup of tea and I’m guessing that’s a similar story for most fans. I only put this out there as I know how tough the industry is and it’s obviously very bold to make such a change when it will most likely turn off the core listeners in the first place. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who have enjoyed the shift and maybe that’s been enough to make a living doing what he wants to do, just interests me as it’s such a hard industry to stay in.

I love Ben Howards music ❤However, I love his acoustic songs....I love his voice and I think the music behind his voice and the echo sound is taking away from the beauty of his music....which is his voice.❤ The simplicity in the music behind his voice is what makes the song .....for me anyways....if its already beautiful....why change it. So take away the echo and everything else....hand the man a guitar and let him do what he does. ❤ Which is Sing. I just feel the music in this piece is a distraction....where acoustically it compliments his voice. Just my opinion. Still a big fan of his work❤
Well done . Sad to hear about Ben's mini strokes . Oddly he doesn't question why young men are having strokes "suddenly" now . Always question everything .
I don't think it's possible to get that back since the 2 strokes. Think of Under The Same Sun or The Fear and how clear that sounds vocally, in tone, in sharpness, and the immense coordination of skill it takes to conceive a sound like that on the guitar. Contrast that with the beautifully crafted muzzled, foggy, and agentless sound of Days of Lantana. It's not that he refuses to play like he did before. He can't. But this man is so talented that even after two strokes, he's still a worthwhile artist and is someone to be celebrated.
@@hereallyfast I don’t agree with that. He certainly is choosing. He’s always evolving. He stopped singing and playing percussive Guitar like he did on Every Kingdom a long time before the strokes. He’s matured now and his changing sound/vocals keeps him interesting.

Such a beautifully moving and atmospheric song, one of my favourites. ❤❤❤
Rumble strip is an Australian lane divider. This is a single release to build up toward the Aussie tour later this year. Perfect timing ❤
It took me a while to really appreciate Ben's new sound, but I'm glad I finally came around. Been really enjoying all the new music!

I could listen to this all day...Love it love it
Comments seem a bit clueless that this is an outtake from the 2021 album he did with Aaron Dessner. It was on the vinyl deluxe.
Everybody knows that.
