The master at work! Very nice. This video is a great example of how a craftsman can learn to master his tools and make them perform to a level necessary to build the project at hand efficiently and successfully! Well done.
Hello,Bob Thanks for watching my video And thank you for the wonderful comments This jig had a lot of comments and was divided into pros and cons. I am puzzled. A kind comment from you saved me at that time. Thank you for your sincerity See you
Thank you. I watch your videos over and over again, even on some items I'll never make, there seems always to be a differeent way of doing something, that I copy for another project.

This is a nice way to demonstrate some development and fabrication skills and end up with a useful product. Perhaps it is more than it needs to be, but I like it. Thanks.
Hello Thank you for watching my video And thank you for the nice comments There are pros and cons comments on this jig. The purpose of this jig was to cut multiple thin and thin plates. However, a structure that releases a little pressure like a feather board is required. Therefore, this jig needs a little improvement. Thank you See you
Hello, artofnoly Thank you for coming to my workshop And thank you for your wonderful comments The reason my video is silent is that I can only speak Japanese, sorry. Thank you from Japan See you
Well I have to admit I wasnt expecting a type of featherboard, nice one though ant not plastic like my ones, but at least i printed mine out of nylon and designed them. -its good to see the use of the sled in combination with the table saw, a lot of people just use it to cross cut and thats it and some carpenters I talk to dont even know that you can make a perfect circle of wood with a sled and table saw and are genuinely surprised when I show them how, Its a very versatile and safe addition to working with a table saw, why the manufacturers dont supply them is beyond me. Mind you its fun to make them and true them up. Thanks, it was nice to watch. great handmade clamps as well.
Hello, Sitges Thank you for watching my video And thank you for the wonderful and wonderful comments This video has a lot of pros and cons, and every time I commented, I was timid! But you gave a good comment, thank you. The table saw is a very dangerous tool! But I love table saws, it's a versatile and very useful tool if used correctly to avoid danger. Thank you from Japan with all your heart
@@TachiOhyo56 It was pleasing to see what you were building, a lot of videos do not do that, good attention to detail is important for a good video. thank you.
Thank you for another well thought-out jig. Your designs are always simple and thoughtful. The locking wedge on this jig reminds me of the Cleko locks used by aircraft manufacturing. Thanks again!
Hello Thank you for watching my video and nice comments I made this jig to cut out a thin board of the same size, but there were some negative comments and advice. I had to deal with it! Your comments led me positively. Thank you See you
I made this thin strip jig today. It works perfectly. Ohyo56's video projects are a great way for me to improve my woodworking skills, while at the same time having a lot of fun and using up scrap wood. Awesome!

I love how sometimes at the start I'm not sure what you're building, then at the end it's like a Big Reveal when you show how it is to be used. This little jig seems to serve two obvious purposes: as a sort of featherboard and as a secondary fence for repeatable cuts. I have a thin-strip jig that works well, but this one looks like it could do just as well while also serving multiple functions. Great work, and great video!
Hello Thank you for watching my video. Exactly as you explained, if you add one to it, the upper bearing works to stabilize when cutting a little thick wood. Thank you See you

Hello Thank you for your nice comment I always enjoy making it, it's very time-consuming and cumbersome, and turning it into joy is a sense of fulfillment and completion. I want to challenge to make a new feather board someday. Thank you for your advice See you
I see that you often cut pieces in 2 steps rather than highering your blade till the max height, you cat half a way, then flip the piece wood and the cut the other half to split it in two. Can you explain me why and when you do that? I think that if the wood is taller than the blade or if you have to make dados, that’s normal, eventually I may think that it could be safer with hardwoods? I think it’s really an interesting strategy and if you have time I’d like to know more about it! Thank you, great video 👍
Hello,Luca Thank you for watching my video as usual And thanks for the nice comments. The brown tree I use in this video is hard, so I cut it twice. And if the blade doesn't cut, it's better to cut it twice, maybe! Blades are short-lived because I always cut hard wood only. Thank you See you again

Hello,Rudi Thanks for watching my video There were a lot of criticism comments on this device, you were relieved otherwise! I warmly welcome you. Thanks for your nice and kind comments See you
Mach weiter so - Rudi Unfortunately, there are always people who have something to complain about if someone makes an effort to report on their successful project. I had to find this out in another format here in Germany. If you looked at what the critics had already posted, you could occasionally find that they had never published a single post. But complaining about others is always possible. I am happy to find suggestions, techniques and tools for one or the other of my projects here or in other formats. Keep it up - Rudi
Hello Thank you for enjoying my video And thank you for complimenting my video I agree with you I'm not young, I like video editing at this pace, Thank you See you again
Good job. Make the bearing section pivot indepently from the main body (spring loaded) that way you do not have to constantly adjust for minor board widths. That is how I have made them in the past, but using metal....easier.
Excelente como todos sus accesorios. Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina. (Excellent like all its accessories. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina)

Great idea. The only thing that would make this better is to have some kind of spring so it would have tension against the wood but also a little give to account for change in the thickness (minor thickness) as the wood may vary in size. I'm not talking about the overall adjustment but some small flexibility.
Hello Thank you for watching my video I read your wonderful advice whispering! It is an excellent explanation and explanation. I will use it as a reference to improve my skills in the future. Thank you for your lovely comments See you
I gave you a Thumbs Up because I like the nice array of wood worker's Jigs, fixtures and clamps. They're all worthy of being called a craftsman's work. Unfortunately, despite how nicely you made this table saw fixture I don't see it out performing "Feather Boards" that have been used on table saws since their inception. In fact, ... Feather Board's provide the extra benefit of reducing "Kickback". They're also a hell of a lot easier to make! Cheaper too! ;-)) Wakodahatchee Chris
Hello C DRIVE Thank you for watching my video And thank you for your nice comment. I made this jig on my whim as usual. Now it's on the shelves of my store. As you say, featherboards are very easy and effective. Thank you

Very nice idea and well made, I might try this with a short arm rad roller with a high-density foam sleeve instead of the roller bearings, it would take seconds to change the sleeve from a 4" to a 6" for higher cut stability and no issue with clogging and cheaper to build, it would not be as pretty as yours though.

I enjoyed this vid very much and noted the many measures taken to be certain that fingers would be safe: dogs, push sticks, multiple passes, etc. But I was surprised not to see a riving knife. My saw is missing its riving knife and I was gearing up to make one, but if it's going to be a waste of effort, I have better things to make. Thoughts?
Hello, eejuice Thanks for watching my video And sincerely thank you for your kind comments. I can't remember why I didn't have a living knife at the time of this project! It is important that you create a living knife for you, and it is highly recommended for safety. Thank you See you
I like this kind of jigs, I would probably have added a couple of millimetres of spring to the bearing shaft. That way you can ensure to always have sufficient but not to much pressure even if the material isn't 100% straight. Well done!
Hello Eric Thank you for watching my video And thank you for the wonderful comments I am also thinking about improving the point you pointed out. I'm glad you gave up! Thank you See you
Dear Ohyu56, nice work and elegant end product. My first thought is that you have made an alternative to a featherboard but you haven’t. There is no spring in your tool and so can only hold pieces that are precisely cut to be parallel. It does give additional height compared to a featherboard and can therefore hold timber in the vertical axis. If the shaft could have an embedded compression spring then you have a marvellous tool. Cheers.

Hello Alex Thanks for watching my video And thank you for the good comments I envy you who work on trees every day! An amateur I enjoy woodworking every week on holidays. Thanks for your kind comments. See you
No disrespect; but I believe if you showed the finished product (and how it worked) before you show the details of how to build it; it would be more interesting. Others will disagree, but I believe Norm Abram on the "New Yankee Workshop" proved this beyond doubt. For he always began with showing the piece and THEN how to build it. For whatever it's worth. Great product by the way.
Hello Thank you for watching my video And thank you for your kind comments Use your thoughtful advice as a reference. But my idea now is that it is not my intention to express the answer first. But I dream of being able to improve his skills one day and get closer to him. Thank you See you
Hello Thank you for watching the video And thank you for the good comment There were some negative comments and advice in a lot of comments, it is dangerous to use it for the wrong purpose, it will be improved using a spring so that it can be used like a feather board. Put the finished product at the front of the video to capture interest. Basic Selling 101: establish interest. But in the end, not sure the rollers improve on featherboards.

OK now, come on. What type of table saw do you have that moves the blade through the material instead of you pushing it through? I've been doing carpentry for 40 years and have had two heavy tops and several job units and have yet to see one that operates like an upside down radial arm. Gots to know.
Hello Thanks for watching my video I am an amateur 63 year old, making with amateur wisdom is a lot of pros and cons! An amateur who cannot understand your explanation. @@TachiOhyo56 Hi again. I meant no offense. I was watching very closely. And it seemed you had a separate table saw that the blade was sliding towards you through the work piece vs you pushing it through. Was I wrong? I had never seen a table saw do that before, that's all. Gonna watch again, maybe I missed something. Thanks for the video. You do immaculate work.
@@TachiOhyo56 Hi Ohyo56, I believe I see now. You were using a sled on your table saw, but from the angle of the camera, I could not see the sled moving, just the blade. I totally understand now. Sorry if you took my comment wrong. All your projects are superb. Thank you.

Not sure what you were making until the end. I believe this is a little overkill. A long bar serving as a 2nd fence is enough to reach the same goal. However, I saw you have lots unique gadgets and designs. Those are creative ideas not seen else where. To me the most amazing one is the 2nd table saw where the saw moves toward the piece instead of the other way around like any other table saws I've seen. This definitely helps with the precision. Hello,Runsun Thank you for watching my video There have been many negative comments on this project so far. The blame comment is unavoidable because it's the process of making me an inspiration for amateurs, which I'm learning. I'm sorry to confuse and mislead your eyes! The table saw does not slide.
Some have said this is an overly complicated featherboard. No, it isn't. Although a featherboard has a certain amount of an anti-kickback feature to it, this device does something that a featherboard cannot do, and that is to allow fine slices of wood to be taken from a fairly thick piece of wood with accuracy. It would require a "featherboard" about 50 mm thick to align a piece of wood as accurately as this device can.
Your explanation is very easy to understand, thank you As you say I didn't make this tool as a feather board, I don't know a lot of words because I'm not an expert, so I can't explain it well, your comments helped me. Thank you very much.

Hello
Thank you for watching my video
And thank you for the nice comments
There are pros and cons comments on this jig.
The purpose of this jig was to cut multiple thin and thin plates.
However, a structure that releases a little pressure like a feather board is required.
Therefore, this jig needs a little improvement.
Thank you

Hello
Thank you for watching my video.
Exactly as you explained, if you add one to it, the upper bearing works to stabilize when cutting a little thick wood.

I always enjoy making it, it's very time-consuming and cumbersome, and turning it into joy is a sense of fulfillment and completion. I want to challenge to make a new feather board someday.

Hello,Luca
Thank you for watching my video as usual
And thanks for the nice comments.
The brown tree I use in this video is hard, so I cut it twice. And if the blade doesn't cut, it's better to cut it twice, maybe!
Blades are short-lived because I always cut hard wood only.

Mach weiter so - Rudi
Unfortunately, there are always people who have something to complain about if someone makes an effort to report on their successful project. I had to find this out in another format here in Germany. If you looked at what the critics had already posted, you could occasionally find that they had never published a single post. But complaining about others is always possible. I am happy to find suggestions, techniques and tools for one or the other of my projects here or in other formats. Keep it up - Rudi

Great idea. The only thing that would make this better is to have some kind of spring so it would have tension against the wood but also a little give to account for change in the thickness (minor thickness) as the wood may vary in size. I'm not talking about the overall adjustment but some small flexibility.

Cheaper too! ;-))

The riving knife is probably the most important safety component on a table saw, it stops kick back which from personal experience is very painful
I like this kind of jigs, I would probably have added a couple of millimetres of spring to the bearing shaft. That way you can ensure to always have sufficient but not to much pressure even if the material isn't 100% straight. Well done!

Cheers.

No disrespect; but I believe if you showed the finished product (and how it worked) before you show the details of how to build it; it would be more interesting. Hello Dadzor
Thank you for watching my video
And thank you for the nice comments
This jig has pros and cons, but is my favorite
I'm glad you gave up!
Thank you
See you
Very nicely done.
Hello
Thank you for your nice comments
Made to cut multiple thin plates,
The work is very fun.
Thank you for giving up

OK now, come on. What type of table saw do you have that moves the blade through the material instead of you pushing it through? I've been doing carpentry for 40 years and have had two heavy tops and several job units and have yet to see one that operates like an upside down radial arm. Gots to know.
Hello
Thanks for watching my video
I am an amateur 63 year old, making with amateur wisdom is a lot of pros and cons! An amateur who cannot understand your explanation.
I have at least realized that I must avoid danger.
I will try to read and understand your comments over and over again.
Thank you
See you
@@TachiOhyo56 Hi again.
Thank you.
@Peter Ford
Hello.
I'm very honored to be in touch with a seasoned professional carpenter like you.
You are a very polite and kind wonderful person, I am very happy.
The reason I made this jig was to watch a video and arrange the tool. 13.53 scene jigs in this video.

You are probably the same generation as me! ?
Thank you
Another great jig masterpiece. Functional yet handsome. Great work! Best regards, Richard
Hello Richard
Thank you for your nice comments as usual
I always make my jigs with a fun design that I use.
Thank you
See you
Not sure what you were making until the end.
Subscribe immediately. Thx for sharing your talent.
Hello,Runsun
Thank you for watching my video
There have been many negative comments on this project so far. The blame comment is unavoidable because it's the process of making me an inspiration for amateurs, which I'm learning.
I'm sorry to confuse and mislead your eyes! The table saw does not slide. The camera is fixed on a large sled to shoot video. You can shoot mysterious images that are trapped in the illusion.
I value your comments
Thank you
See you
@@TachiOhyo56 ah-ha !! I was thinking to take sometime to search your archive to see how you made that table saw :) :) Thx for the clarification. Subscribed anyway :) :)
Any one.... I see how it adjust front to back. How is it clamping so that it does not move left to right on the saw track?
Hello
Thank you for accessing my video
The answer to your question is in video 5.38.
By tightening this taper-shaped bolt with a knob, the crack of the rail bar spreads tightly.
Thank you
See you
The bolt from underneath... tapered, so when tightened, the slot expands to tighten in the table saw slot...

Do you have a finger tip jig for your sanding disk?
Hello Peter
Thank you for always watching my video
And thanks for the nice comment
Thanks to you, I now feel the danger of sanding my fingers!
I need to make a safety jig that protects my fingers.
Thank you
Sincerely
Ohyo56 ..Thank you for being so kind answering my question. I have similar tools to you and am careful like you are. The only tool to hurt me was a Stanley knife 50yrs ago. Since then I have learned the best safety is to walk away when I’m tired. I am now 73 and have all my fingers.
This is a very interesting device. One suggestion, though. It would help to show the device in action before you go through the process of building it.
Hello
Thank you for watching my video
And thanks for the advice
I am consciously choosing the current style, this style is my own, but I will have to take your advice style soon,
Thank you

Yes, I agree. With videos like these I tend to zip through to the end and watch the finished article - then go back and see how it’s made.
@Jevandtieriel John
Thank you
Thank you for nice comment
There are more people who agree with that opinion than I imagined.
I must try to respect the incident.
Thank you
See you at that time
@@TachiOhyo56 Thank you for this nice video. I agree with the previous comments. When you are doing a puzzle, do you look at each piece and decide where it goes or do you look at the box to see the finished thing first?
@@TachiOhyo56 I think the same as Bill, but it may affect your viewed time statistics if people only watch the first parts and skip the rest. If it does, then consider doing what's best for you.
Thanks.

You're a classic old man in the profession, nice job !!
Thank you for watching my video
And nice comments
I came across a life of enjoying making things with wood.
Thank you
See you
Some have said this is an overly complicated featherboard.
Your explanation is very easy to understand, thank you
As you say I didn't make this tool as a feather board, I don't know a lot of words because I'm not an expert, so I can't explain it well, your comments helped me.
Thank you very much.
@@TachiOhyo56 You are most welcome. This is sort of like a resawing accessory.
What an innovative jig! I will have to make one or two! Thanks!

I think they are absolutely wrong, and the proof is in your very own statistics, my friend.
You have only 49.5K subscribers, and yet you have almost 110K views!
You do your videos on your channel how ever you like, if you wish to put the finished product first, then so be it.
If not, then don't stress about one or two people's opinions.
Truth is, no matter what you do you will always have one or two people that you cannot please.
You cannot please all of the people all of the time, only some of the people some of the time.
Take care my friend. 👍🏽
