The whole thing is based on a misreading of Strong's Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible (entry 5377 for נָשָׁא / Nāšā'), which is indeed used several times in the bible with the meaning 'to deceive', but obviously the misunderstanding is with the pronunciation, as the people who share the old photo of the page in the Lexicon don't read Biblical Hebrew or know how to read the transliterations in the lexicon. The transliteration given by Strong is Nāšā', but the people sharing it ignore (or are unaware) that the diacritic on top of the š is used to transliterate the שׁ / 'sh' (like 'shop', rather than the 's' in 'soup') sound.

Also, with the crater, he's measuring the smallest diameter of a circle that is viewed at an angle, disforming the circle into a thinner ellipse. The longest visible diameter (from roughly top to bottom in the pic) would have been much closer to the actual crater size from this distance.

Okay, I am a Hebrew speaker and live in Israel. I have heard the argument that "NASA means to deceive in Hebrew" a few times and have no idea where that argument came from. The term "Nasa" (with the "sa" stressed, as most bisyllabic Hebrew words stress the second syllable) has a few meanings: 1. Nasa (נסע), means drove. Words with the root נ-ס-ע have to do with driving. 2. Nasa (נשא), means carried. Words with the root נ-ש-א have to do with carrying or pulling around. 3. Nisa (ניסה), means to try or to test. Words with the root נ-ס-ה have to do with trying. All in all, I know of no Hebrew word that even resembles "NASA" That has any meaning even close to deception. If there exists one, it's probably archaic and long out of use in the common vernacular. The word most commonly used for deception in Hebrew is "Hat'aya" (הטעיה), eith the root ט-ע-ה, which is used for words that have to do with (big surprise) mistakes.

I live near Lake Ontario and have observed the Toronto skyline with binoculars. So here’s a globe proof. Take a picture at lake level then go to the top of the Niagara Escarpment and take another one. The escarpment is a 200ft cliff a few kilometers inland from the lakeshore. You can see more of the shorter buildings from up there including the Rogers centre. On a cold clear winters day with very little refraction you can’t see the Rogers center from lake level but can from the escarpment even though you’re a little farther away. I’ve been following this flat earth stuff for a decade now and to make sure I’m intellectually honest I try and confirm the globe whenever I can. This is one of the ways I’ve done this. I’ve also observed ships at see disappearing from the bottom up. I’ve also done lunar observations with a telescope. If the moon is just a luminary that shines with its own light how come the craters have shadows? How come those shadows are always on the side of the crater away from the Sun?
Being the sometimes learning resistant guy that I am I'm basically doing similar experiments with coffee or coke and my laptop all the time when watching flerf content ... :o Key lessons learned by this, and due to other "experiment": * water is much less of a good electric conductor than most people seem to think * electronic boards with their typical green (or nowadays also often green or red) varnish are especially indifferent to water * the part most sensible to spillage in a laptop is usually the keyboard, and it is not the fluid itself that is the problem but sugar that crystallizes when the fluid evaporates and so makes keys stuck * the front plates of devices in an electronics rack are usually made in a way that does not let significant amounts of water thorugh I especially wonder how much of the electrics and electronics of LEOs tower crane are actually more or less exposed to the environment. I'd bet that the risk of having water flying around in the environment (though with a down-go-boom-boom bias) is much more frequent for a tower crane on a construction site than how often astronauts on the ISS play with water. Also as water droplets in micro gravity float with quasi constant velocity and do not accelerate they are easier to catch with a towel while still in motion, and even when hitting a surface the fluid will rather stick to that surface in a somewhat spherical shape and will not spread out into a puddle or pressed through small openings by its own weight ... All that said this specific experiment did not seem to be the most clever after all, and I bet that quite a few red stains had to be removed from equipment after this indeed, seeing how fluid was flowing away in all directions when the bubble burst ...
I have no idea why they keep going! I tuned into a Nathan Oakley daily debate - there was 30 people tuned in? I’ve had more people listen to me fart :)

A little tidbit about the water sticking to your face from surface tension in zero g. It's actually very dangerous under circumstances where you can't wipe the water away with your hands. Such as in a space suit. If I remember correctly several years ago an astronaut almost around when his cooling system started to leak water into the suit. It started to gather around his face and he was having a hard time not breathing it in. Luckily he was able to get back into the shuttle before things got too bad. Sounds like a terrifying experience to go through though.

That last image had me laughing so hard. I would've never how to do all that myself, as I don't use the curve tool, but the fact you can just simply point out the builds drop or rise based on distance is just so obvious.
IMO that last picture rather shows so called atmospheric compression. Refraction isn't constant throughout vertical angle of observation. That causes high buildings to look like they were shorter than in reality. Because theirs bottom part which is closer to ground experience higher refraction index that the top part. This is especially pronounce when refraction index is really high which doesn't happen all the year in the same location.
Got to be careful. Heights here should be relative to the lake not sea level so the baseline is 74m and the effective height of the base of the building is 33m or about 100ft. Don't give the flerfers free ammo.

@@nasalies1292 Wow, you can't even correctly parrot the wrong formula. Sq mile is an area, not related to a curve. It is a parabola, not a circle or sphere. The correct formula, which is completely accurate for any distance and point on a sphere is: x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = r^2, or else you can give it in spherical or cylindrical co-ordinates, so wrong again. Feedback so far: crickets and tumble weed. In the case of the Metabunk curve calculator the source code of the curve calculator would even just be a CTRL-U key press away as the calculations are done in the users browsers by javascript code in the calculator web page itself. And what do we see in there? var drop = r-Math.sqrt(r*r-d*d); // drop perpendicular to horzontal var drop_q = Math.sqrt(r*r+d*d)-r; // drop perpendicular to the surface tangent With r being 3959 miles, and d being the distance given in the form input. // For the radius of the Earth, I use 3959, the mean (average) radius of 3959 miles // It ranges from 3947 to 3968, depending on where it is measured // around the equator it's 3963, around the poles it's 3949 So as Jake needed to do manual inputs and compare the results to "eight inches per mile squared" he must have been incapable of reading the page source ... which comes to no surprise to me ;)

3:55 Thing with ignorance is that it never occurs to the ignorant that other people might be smart enough to have already thought of these things. Let’s say for arguments sake that the fluid could get into all of these expensive electronics that are being used in space. Maybe it occurred to the people who built items that you can’t pop down to Curry’s/PC World to replace, that it’s probably a good idea to ensure the things they’re using are built with things like waterproofing and other protections against damage. Like flat earthers seem to know, it’s not like NASA can’t afford to pay for custom made computers, rather than just picking a standard one up from the shop. And maybe they do get damaged? It’s not like he’s trying to find a way to set fire to the whole thing. Regardless of whether I’m right or wrong about the computers, my point is that ignorance is to assume that people in their profession don’t know what they’re doing, rather than think about all of the things that people who aren’t ignorant take into consideration when coming up with things.

Okay, I am a Hebrew speaker and live in Israel. I have heard the argument that "NASA means to deceive in Hebrew" a few times and have no idea where that argument came from.
The term "Nasa" (with the "sa" stressed, as most bisyllabic Hebrew words stress the second syllable) has a few meanings:

It's all perspective...
These compilations are the only videos I watch from you and they're hilarious
Being the sometimes learning resistant guy that I am I'm basically doing similar experiments with coffee or coke and my laptop all the time when watching flerf content ... :o
Key lessons learned by this, and due to other "experiment":
* water is much less of a good electric conductor than most people seem to think
* electronic boards with their typical green (or nowadays also often green or red) varnish are especially indifferent to water
* the part most sensible to spillage in a laptop is usually the keyboard, and it is not the fluid itself that is the problem but sugar that crystallizes when the fluid evaporates and so makes keys stuck
* the front plates of devices in an electronics rack are usually made in a way that does not let significant amounts of water thorugh
I especially wonder how much of the electrics and electronics of LEOs tower crane are actually more or less exposed to the environment.

I'm creating awareness among my relatives, friends about 500 years of space deception. Globe believers shocked at "why same stars appear for all 12 months?" this 1 question shattered globe lie.
This one question has hit all globe liars' head like a thunder, they are literally having heart attack, globers can't withstand this question.
sooner in India "why same stars appear all 12 months?" question will make headlines. Globe liars having heart attack. Truth can't be hidden forever
This has happened in the last couple of months and currently one of the ISS space suits cannot be used of EVAs as it leaks.
@@DireW0lf0 wasn't aware of that. Scary stuff.
It was an Italian astronaut on the ISS. He had to feel his way to the hatch because the water blinded him.
@@Mandelbrot_Set Honestly, drowning in a space suit would be one of the worst ways to go. Talk about claustrophobia and hydrophobia rolled in to one!
if you watch the urgency that he suddenly towels his face, it appears that he had run out of breath and was in a little bit of a panic.
17:40 Can't help but augh when a FLERFER criticizes other people's critical thinking skills.
Been here since near the start. I love this series. Don't end it Dan!
Flat earthers have you bookedmarked just to dislike when videos are posted. Keep up the good work dan.
Subscriptions, views and comments from the Flerf side - all feeding the RUclips algorithm in Dan's favour.
That's in addition to the wealth of source material they provide.
dislikes aren't shown anymore so there's no point, but it's this same line of thinking that leads you to believe "scientists" and their satanic lies
Flat earth arguments in a nutshell:
- Ballpark calculations
- Large number appears
- Erm errrrr IMPOSSIBLE hurr durrr *gestures wildly*
- no further comment on why the derived large number is a problem or why it represents an impossibility
- QED
I swear all flat earthers just have a fear of big numbers. And a complete lack of understanding of geometry and how angles work
That last image had me laughing so hard. I would've never how to do all that myself, as I don't use the curve tool, but the fact you can just simply point out the builds drop or rise based on distance is just so obvious.
Me, too, especially when Dan asked the question and then endet with "take all the time you need!" 😅🤭
Man, I really hope he does continue these.....
Loved that one Dan. Congrats on reaching 450k. Keep them coming 👍
Got to be careful. Heights here should be relative to the lake not sea level so the baseline is 74m and the effective height of the base of the building is 33m or about 100ft. Don't give the flerfers free ammo.
THEY HAVE A SERPENT'S TONGUE IN THEIR LOGO!!!
There is no human language with strong enough words, to describe, how much and loud I laughed about that one. 😂😂😂
EDIT:
I got no Twitter, but please note, that I'd vote for more FEF Compilations! They are too good to drop. 🥺
That fancy chevron no way looks anything like a serpent's tongue. They only like to see something that supports their narrative.
Also, the NASA logo has a sperm xdd ok I'll leave.
@@nasalies1292 Wow, you can't even correctly parrot the wrong formula. Sq mile is an area, not related to a curve. The formula you tried to give is a rough rule of thumb used in the days before calculators and people did not keep square root, logarithms and trigonometric functions in their heads. It is a parabola, not a circle or sphere.
The correct formula, which is completely accurate for any distance and point on a sphere is: x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = r^2, or else you can give it in spherical or cylindrical co-ordinates, so wrong again.
I, like most of the world, use metric, so your futile effort at numerology is meaningless. There are many instances where flerfs use, when it suits their narrative, for examples, perspective and refraction where it is not applicable and don't use it when it is.

I work for the largest telecommunications company on the planet and we regularly connect to satellites and I have a guy I work next to who is a flat earther. He refers back to training videos we watched 22 years ago about the trans Atlantic submersed cables and that they’re lying to us about satellites. I started asking him bandwith math questions and he just gets super upset and goes nuts, he’s also a “moorish sovereign citizen” with really weird ideas about land ownership and like Liberian diplomatic status or something. Trump was never elected by a majority. Millions more Americans voted for Hillary than they did Trump.
Thankfully, MOST Americans recognize what a disgusting, pathetic failure Trump is. The fact that so many Americans support him, however, yeah, that’s pretty sad.
@@herzkine No he wasn't. He lost his election by 3 million, giving him not even a plurality, only teh quirks of the electoral college weighing smaller rural states more than population heavy strongly urbanized states gave him the "win".

Yes, exactly. Not everyone tweets.
I love how that guy mangles the simple expression;
"eight inches per mile squared"
into;
"eight inches times the mile when you square the mile"
Why would you do that???

This series would go on forever Dan, as Einstein had said "human stupidity is infinite". These FEs would never run out of bonkers in their mind as long as they draw breath.🤣🤣
Lol. The "human stupidity" has been evident since 2016.
The liquid turns into a sphere disproves the flat earth , notice he doesn't acknowledge it?
Next time I'm having a serious discussion with someone and we happen to disagree on something I'll just accuse them of "selling the lie of the weightless environment". That should do the trick!
I don't Twitter. But it's a "YES", please continue the series.
I love the FE fail compilations. Now, maybe I misunderstood, but the middle guy is using images from space (Google earth) to show that space is fake? Just by itself, that's completely insane.

This is my favorite series from you, I’d hate to see it go, but I’m also looking forward to other ideas you might have.
"we can see from the newyork shores the toronto skylines 30 miles away!!!"

1958 A year before he started school and about a year before he quit school.
These flat earth fail compilations are pure gold, Dan, please keep the series going. At least until flat earth has been debunked into oblivion, curls up and dies.
Use your critical thinking……oh look, there is a forked tongue in the NASA logo. Hilarious!
12:30 when it comes to "you need R for that" I usually point flerfs to the pyAlamanc python package that generates pretty good nautical almanac pages for arbitrary date inputs on the fly, and ask them to find and change the R value in the source code and check whether it still produces correct output, or to review the source code in general as it is an open source package. Feedback so far: crickets and tumble weed.
In the case of the Metabunk curve calculator the source code of the curve calculator would even just be a CTRL-U key press away as the calculations are done in the users browsers by javascript code in the calculator web page itself.
And what do we see in there?
var drop = r-Math.sqrt(r*r-d*d); // drop perpendicular to horzontal
var drop_q = Math.sqrt(r*r+d*d)-r; // drop perpendicular to the surface tangent
With r being 3959 miles, and d being the distance given in the form input.
// For the radius of the Earth, I use 3959, the mean (average) radius of 3959 miles
// It ranges from 3947 to 3968, depending on where it is measured
// around the equator it's 3963, around the poles it's 3949
So as Jake needed to do manual inputs and compare the results to "eight inches per mile squared" he must have been incapable of reading the page source ... which comes to no surprise to me ;)
Dan please please please keep this series going!

I really hope the series keeps going because I can't watch their content myself without getting a migraine.
Agree the cringe can only be made bearable by that Filter.
I love the red text saying words to the effect of "numbers not accurate when viewing over water" in that last clip.
I bet you can make a fail compilation episode from just 1 flat earther

Dan has his sarcasm phaser set to max for this one, and I love it! Oh man, that last image was perfect, debunks himself big time. @@eddiebruv that's more understandable tbh, people have believed that was faked since it happened (not me)

I find one of the simplest ways to tackle this is to compare how and why a 450 ton 747 flying at 500mph will fall out the sky when it has NO fuel and a 450 ton ISS keeps traveling in orbit at 17400 mph when it has NO fuel and has been doing so continuously for 23 years.
