- The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro now have the new camera control button, and I must admit, I dont love this feature as much as I thought.

upgraded from 13pro and feel like i could have waited another year (half push focus, could be cool with that update)
Yeah It doesn't solve any issues. If anything it's just more annoying to use compared to on screen controls.
The camera control demo really solidified how big my hands are, because my fingers don’t go like that 😂
People forget you can swipe left to launch the camera as well.
I bought the 16 Pro (had to 15 Pro) and was so unimpressed I returned it. Absolute garbage product development by apple. We need to stop purchasing their CRAP!
Camera control button is just a gimmick like the touch bar was on Mac laptops years ago that no one liked and was removed later.

I havent touched it one. I think if youre being intentional and tryign to slow down, the shutter button is great. Otherwise..... gimmick.

I just bought a 3rd generation SE (has the same chip as the iPhone 14) Super cheap. I uses X100VI for photos .Guess I won’t lose sleep now 😂
Same here. Just got a 3rd gen refurbished SE, like new, battery 100%. I’m returning my 16.
I goofed around with display model at Best Buy today - I came away wildly unimpressed. I thought the non-pro 16 looked great but that 60Hz screen is criminal at that price point. Sticking with my 14 Pro Max for another year I guess...

Im sticking with my 15 pro max. At this point the only phone that could get me to switch is the one Apple stole the idea for a camera shutter button, the Sony Xperia 1 VI. Except it actually works like a camera button.

this is one of the items from apple that I have NOT figured out how to use....... cant get the scrolling right, half press is coming later? Other than that, I do use camera control for one thing, and that's to launch the camera....... dont even use it for capture most of the time, it doesnt respond all the time. Hold to record doesnt seem to work well either... but aside from that, I like that I can turn on the camera with a button, and so far, that's all. I was wanting hold to record from the lock screen, but that doesnt seem to work either.....
Apple is copying the Sony Xperia Pro I which has the camera button, however the Sony camera button is a half press focus then full press shoot. So where is Apple's half press focus???
I was never sold on iPhone and IOS , it has less features than Android. New feature is something Samsung had a decade ago, like the pause recotding🤦😁 prices are insane. I will never get one. If I ge tone for free I will sell it. Unless somone made it work with android.

I use the iPhone for video and I was wondering what does it offer for video? I don't really see any benefit. This is a good video.
haha! Sony Xperia Pro-I already has a "camera like button" to take photos. half press to AF and then full press to take the photo.
The button itself is kinda cool. I have to use it more to see if it actually helps when I need to open the camera fast. Clicking the button as a shutter isn't really new, since I've been doing that forever with the volume rocker.
The swiping control is completely useless. They should have made it a fingerprint reader instead or in addition to the swiping controls.
There is one good use case no one can deny and that’s not mentioned in the video: it makes really cool, attractive marketing materials. It looks captivating, professional and unique and makes for great web pages and promotional videos
Not a gimmick, but I really don't think it's that useful or necessary.
The camera button is like marmite, you either love it or hate it.... personally I think its a cool feature that no one is ever going to use
Maybe it will be useful when all the software is available. I don't really like the position of the button.
I turned camera control off and I can't seem to find a decent phone case. They all have that shitty cut out. I want my iPhone to be protected!
Like it or not you don't have to use it. It might be okay for video but not so much for photos if it causes shake.

It seem like the volume rocker is more natural as buttons than the dedicated one.
You can also use the action button for the camera too if you want.
