This was McNabb’s greatest game ever. The numbers don’t really support that claim, but after watching his entire career very closely, this is the game I would point to as his best performance. He just refused to say die. Sacked 8 times. No run support outside of himself. Behind almost the entire game. Everything on the line and he willed that team to victory. The Eagles had a net positive of 363 yards in the game and including sacks McNabb accounted for 306 of them. I’m fully aware of his failures in big games, and those criticisms are mostly fair, but I’m not sure how many other quarterbacks could’ve won this game. A handlful come to mind but not many more than that.
He had not only that play but another epic catch on a Monday Night in 2004 against Dallas. From McNabb's perspective it can be described as. "On a Randall Cunningham in Buffalo."
I wonder if most longtime Packers fans would rate this as a top 5 franchise loss. They had this game on a silver platter. What gets lost in the shuffle was an amazing game by Ahman Green, and 8 sacks by the Packers defense.
Absolutely. This one still stings for me to this day. Packers shoulda woulda coulda but didn't. They literally had this game in their grasp and let it slip away.
As a Packers Fan, this was the game that started our cursed luck in the 21st Century. Sherman coached a terrible game. He could of iced the game in the 4th when he punted on 4th and 1 around midfield when he could've given Ahman Green another chance. Maybe the goaline stand had something to do with it. Then you have 4th and 26. Our Defensive Coordinator, Ed Donatell wasn't back the following year, so either he left on his own or he was shown the door (He's in Denver now). Then Brett Favre. I have no idea what in the world he was thinking. Love the guy, but starting in 2001 in St. Louis, his arm and decision making cost the Packers some legit Super Bowl runs. This along with Seattle are two games I have a hard time watching.

@@thomastripp9002 sorry but 2009 was not a good year as far as NFL playoff games. There were 9 double-digit wins that year in the playoffs in 2009. 2011 and 2012 were not great either both of those years had at least 5 double digit wins in the playoffs those years that's not great. 2003 only have 4 double digit playoff games that year with the two worst being Carolina beating Dallas by 19 and colts beating the broncos by 31. Every other game in that playoffs were pretty much close even the two conference championship games that were both decided by double digits. The eagles lost 14-3 to Carolina. And in the AFC championship game between the Patriots and the Colts with 2:27 left in the fourth quarter Patriots were only up 21-14 before a field goal by vinatieri made it 24-14.
@@pp3k3jamail Thanks for reminding me...I think 2010 was pretty good...Seahawks (at 7-9 winning the NFC West) upsetting the defending Super Bowl Champions - New Orleans Saints and the Colts being upset by the Jets...The Ravens and Steelers playing in a tight game, Jets upsetting the Patriots and two Conference Championship Games and the Super Bowl were tightly contested.

Collinsworth, who was calling the game for FOX called that throw by Favre the most ridiculous throw any QB could possibly make in that situation, saying that if it's what you would say when a rookie QB does it, you have to say the same thing when Favre does it. It was the first time I had ever heard one of the major commentators call him out.
I think for all of his postseason picks they would. But I think that's all QBs. And don't let your team have a guy like Terrell Owens. You won't even need truth serum
I'm sure they would - starting in 2001 he either threw a game-losing INT ('03, '07, '09) or threw multiple INT's ('01, '02, '04) to lose blowout playoff games. People always slam Neil O'Donnell for his incompetence in the '95 Super Bowl against Dallas, but Favre had numerous playoff performances like the one O'Donnell had in that game.
The Packers lost a lot more than the Eagles won. McNabb was the only real star on offense for the Eagles, the Pack led 14-0, the defense gave up a 1st down on 4th and 26 late in regulation, and of course Favre with that boneheaded pick in OT. All that said, this is probably the best performance of McNabb's career.
Had the Packers gotten a TD before halftime, they would have most likely held on for the victory and the NFC title game is played in Charlotte. Instead, the Eagles would die a slow painful death (figuratively of course) the next week.
I bet they're goomg to say Mcnabb wasnt a great passer as well. When was being athletic and mobile bad things on a football field ever?? McNabb had crazy arm talent and accuracy. Nearly going to the Superbowl 5 times in his career. 9 of his 11 years w Philly he was in the playoffs. His loses were to tough teams . Vick and the Falcons were the team he beat to advance to yhe Superbowl to face Tom Brady and the Patriots. Teams were stacked in the early 2000's . Defenses could actually play Rough without all the extra calls. G locks w n safety everywhere.
There’s goes Farve with his infamous playoff arm punt
That’s a perfect line hahaha
Why not it was the only thing that hadn’t happened in that game, and homers of today’s quarterbacks would name every one of those things.
4th and 26 lives forever in Eagles lore.

Donovan's greatest followed by Donovan's worst game the next week
4:13 That was a damn arm punt LOL
4:13 the kind of all out blitz that made Jim Johnsons defense so menacing.
Except against Tom Brady lol!
3:18 The signature moment of Freddie Mitchell’s whole career

4th and 26. Oh....my......hell.....
Packers: Get into the playoffs because of a 4th and 26.
Also Packers: Knocked out of the playoffs by a 4th and 26.
Was 4th and 24 in the vikings game so this was actually worse...
Last year the divisional playoffs peaked in the first game (PIT/TEN OT) before a string of routs
This year? Best divisional playoff round ever
Also 2021
McNabb was sacked eight times in this game, but still ran for 107 yards on 11 carries. Just imagine what he would've done without those eight sacks.
Very underrated
Will always remember where was when I watched this game.
I miss 2000s NFL. It was fun to see.
The way the game was played, the aesthetic... NFL today sucks
Goal line stand was big for the Eagles
The defense gets a lot of blame for this loss but the offense deserves part of the blame too
Favre with an idiotic overtime interception in the postseason. Well I'm sure that will never happen again.....
And definitely not multiple times after this one…
@Steve Kovaleski funny thing is I forgot all about 2007 😆

Dawkins fielded that pick like it was a punt
Because the pass was so off target due to Favre releasing too early when he should have just taken the sack.
