When I sit back and think about it Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb had a pretty damn impressive run during the 2000s.
I get wish Donavan Mcnabb and Andy Reid has winning super bowl 39 because I think he desire to has a super bowl rings
Truth, McNabb and the Eagles blew it in Super Bowl XXXIX!
@@m.alexanderzagorski2438 we blew it a week later too against the Cardinals… thankfully 2017 happened and honestly could win another one these next few years
Yea they did, they missed the playoffs twice since Mcnabb was the starter,so they made the playoffs 7x’s in 10 years
Doug Peterson Nick Foles had more impressive run in only a few years. They got the ring.
Nobody on earth would have had the Giants as a one and done, or the Eagles as a playoff team at all just a few weeks before this. 2008 was such a weird season.
The 9-7, 4th seeded Arizona Cardinals hosted the NFCCG and went to the super bowl. 2008 was clearly wacky.
Eagles got lucky. The guy who killed them for 4 seasons was out. Oh well at least a lot of eagles fans died between 1960-2017 and missed out on their charity super bowl lol
“Edward White” your a clown and foh with that charity bullshit we earned or ring in 2017 and the eagles have owned the giants in the manning era so rather than luck in this game the eagles just did what they usually do when they play the Giants and that’s win !
Edward White some one is bitter that their franchise is old news lmao it’s a shame your franchise is slowly turning into the laughing stock of the NFL
@@adrianh1375 What's there to be bitter about? Giants didn't have to wait 57 years for a championship as the Eagles did. I mean that is why you guys have a reputation for being "unhinged". Or, I guess that's just simply autistic kids watching football who never grew up 🤔
The Manning brothers still have nightmares about Asante Samuel.
Captain Nutsack lol!
@Jason Young The pass was thrown too high. Not the easiest pick to catch.
Asante Samuel has nightmares about losing a perfect season with an interception threw his hands from eli😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@conversekid8954 Agreed. The pass was too high and apparently the wrong route.
Converse Kid definitely could have caught it tho
If there was a time where the Giants had a great chance of being back to back champs, this was the year.
@@ArgentineFootballfan1978 For you to take the time to type all this bullshit tells me you’re still mad.
@@ArgentineFootballfan1978 U are a definitely an idiot…no doubt 😂
@@KBIbanez1989 what he say?😂
I couldn't agree more.
If Plaxico didn't shoot himself the Giants would have went back to back
This is such an underrated eagles victory. I remember all the Giants fans in my school were so damn ready for a easy win. I felt so damn good after the game was over that I literally couldn't sleep that night. I LITERALLY wanted to go to school the next day (Those who knew me back then would have gone into shock hearing me say that). My friends who were so damn cocky about the previous year's super bowl and being the 1 seed that year couldn't even look me in the eye. Haha
That's how I felt after my Vikings got revenge against the Packers in the Wild Card in 2004. The happiest I've ever felt after a win.
Giants turn this year
@@davidsearby6314 apparently not
@@davidsearby6314 bro really thought the giants had a chance lol
the giants won, because patriots choked and underperformed, eli and peyton are lucky to play supbar playoff patriots version teams, eagles at least beat patriots in their prime, smh, eagles are the only team I respect that beat patriots, and outplayed them, eagles nation
Asante Samuel revenge game after dropping the 19-0 clinching pick the year before
If you watch that play closely that was far from an easy interception. I wouldn't call it a drop. It happened quicker than a lot of football fans would like to admit.
@@edwardfights4900 it was a sailed pass that was thrown too high. The 49ers' dropped pick in 2011 was a bigger gaffe, IMO.
@@Phinal_Flash wrong, idiot. Tyree ran the wrong route. You could tell by the way that Eli responded to it "almost" being picked. Eli never reacts that way, and he even said it on a Q&A Tyree ran it wrong. But please tell us more about Super Bowls and Giants history, Eagle fan. Lol.
@@Phinal_Flash what dropped pick vs the 49ers are you talking about, moron?
You want to talk about dropped picks, how about the one vs Atlanta? That God awful girl throw Foles threw that hit the Falcons DB in the knee?
@@edwardfights4900 Ok, so it didn't sail (whoop dee do). But it was thrown too high. And the dropped pick I'm talking about is when that dumb shit ran into Dashon Goldson about to make an easy pick on Eli in the NFC Championship.

Aside from the Super Bowl winning season, this was one of my favorite games as an eagles fan. Unfortunately, fortunately followed up by one of the worst losses in eagles history in Arizona, which still irks me to this day.
Same with me. The loss to Arizona still irks me to this very day as an Eagles fan. I will admit that I don't follow football today nowhere near as close as I did in the 2000s and early 2010s. I couldn't even tell you the starting lineup today for Philly and didn't even care for their Superbowl 52 win against the Patriots. But during the McNabb era and even sometime after when it looked like Foles would be the next franchise QB, I stood by the Eagles during the good and bad. If they had a chance to win a Superbowl with McNabb, Dawkins and Westbrook on the team, I feel this would have been the year against the Steelers. Think about it, it would have been a Cinderella story had the Eagles won Superbowl 43. The 2008 Philadelphia Eagles started the season very average standing 3-3 by their bye week. During this season, they would tie against Cicinnati then the very next week get blown out by Baltimore, and McNabb would be benched. They would come back on a winning streak against Arizona, only to lose to the Redskins on week 16, but beat the Cowboys week 17 just making it in as the 6th seed with a 9-6-1 record. Had they won with everything they went through during the regular season, and win as the 6th seed, it would have made a great NFL documentary one day. But it is what it is. We can only dream about that scenario now. However, I still enjoyed the McNabb era. That era had some of my favorite players.
Our defensive coordinator was literally dying. If not for that we win the Super Bowl. Instead we got beat up by a 40 year old qb
As a Giants fan I don’t want to make Plax excuses. Interestingly though I believe if the Eagles had beaten the Cardinals, I believe they would’ve beaten the Steelers in the Super Bowl...
They had already beat them in the regular season that year
As a Philly fan, the 08 team was my second favorite team in eagles history. Love the way this team fought back after it looked like their season was over after that loss to the Ravens. It was a great run
Y’all should’ve beaten the Cardinals.
@@djeanpierre yeah that was a hell of a game. Both teams had a ton of momentum heading in. Once McNabb hit DJax for that long TD, I thought we were advancing
@@TJB270 I remember that too. I had just came home from the airport to catch the second half of that game and was disappointed because McNabb was a hometown boy. Jackson scored that TD and then they let AZ drive right down the field and score another one.
Ask any Giants fan and they'll tell you they're still not over this game. For some of them, it stings more than the Miracle in the New Meadowlands.
You're right. I hate the Eagles but I'll give it to you guys you came in our house and utterly embarrassed us.
Well... I'm not over the events that had lead to this game. As for this game itself it's complicated. I remember fearing for this game even after the Giants had just barely got home field advantage.
@@BrendenNichols No shit
Phinal Flash #FireCleteBlakeman shut up
Eh. If you really think about it, it just goes to show that records and home field doesn't mean a thing. NYG went all the way the year prior at 10-6. Besides, Philly got bounced in the very next round and a short week later by a 9-7 Arizona Cardinals team with a QB who was, what? Going on 38 in early 2009? Lol.
After this year, the Giants went and drafted Hakeem Nicks who helped them win a Super Bowl in 2011. It sucked he got injured and shouldve had a longer career with the team.
Sure, at the time, it was lousy to see an undeserving Phildadelphia Eagles team end the historic Giants title run from 2007, while, not football related, it was certainly nice to see the Yankees win the world series vs the Phillies as defending champions in 2009. One hand washes the other, correct?
This would be Andy Reid's last postseason win with the Eagles and the Eagles' last postseason win for almost a decade. Their next postseason win? The 2017 NFC Divisional Playoff against the Falcons, the first of four postseason wins in a row (with the third of those four being the extra special one 😁)
That 3rd and 20 conversion by the Eagles was the turning point. Gave the Eagles confidence when the Giants had them on the ropes.
You can make the argument the game changed when the giants get a huge return to open up and only get 3. They get an early touchdown and who knows what happens
Those 2 defensive stops on 4th downs by 🦅 were huge as well.
I’ll never forgive Plaxico.
Forgive and forget?
He played a major role in their 2007 championship.
Hes black so...
Edward Fights whats that got to do with anything
Without Plaxico 2007 doesn't happen. Don't be stupid.
This game right here has lead to the Eagles utter domination of the Giants over 10 years later the Eagles are still beating the living shit out of the Giants.
What crack you smoking , 1 super bowl in 60 years foh. Y’all barely beat the pats , and got a free chip since Bill Belicheck didn’t start Malcom Butler that Super Bowl which was his best defensive player. Do us all a favor and stop smoking dust
Hey dude don't worry about it I seen this division beat each other up all the time oh it's the Redskins oh it's a Giants oh it's a Cowboys and the Eagles who knows
@@spenddollarzent it’s 2023 and y’all still getting tapped by Philly
@@aariesharris7894 and y’all still gonna be 1 and done in the playoffs bozo
2024, eagles beat the giants in the divisional and almost won the Super Bowl vs the chiefs.
Jason avant! Underrated man the guy had hands and came through
Please keep putting out these videos! Great memories
This is the exact same thing happening now except the Giants are the sixth seed and the Eagles are the number one seed
Nothing used to please me more than to see Coughlin’s face every time the Eagles kicked his ass. Priceless.
This was the game McNabb picked up the Giants' phone on the sideline & answered. Complete savage! Hahahaha!
Yeah it was the 9-7 Arizona Cardinals telling them they'd be eliminated the very next week lol
@@edwardfights4900 fu lololol
Came here just for that lol
@@edwardfights4900 I can't hear you over the sound of your putrid franchise putting shitty ass Daniel Jones on the field.
How pathetic does it feel knowing your franchise will be shit for the next decade? Daniel Jones, lol. Fucking sucks. No doubt Saquon will leave that trash franchise in free agency.
Captain Nutsack he has like 15 tds in 8 games as a rookie he’s good
Two teams will be meet again in 2022 NFC Divisional Round
That 2008 Eagles team was scrappy and fun to watch. I saw that as a rival fan too
I still get nightmares about this season and this game. Damn burress
I forgot how good David Akers was. It's funny talking about a kicker, but we knew we were solid there. Guaranteed 3 points if we couldn't punch it in the end zone. Kicking hurt the Giants and helped us this game.
Automatic Akers
This game exposed Manning’s candy arm. For all of Mcnabb’s accuracy issues he had a cannon which helped them win this game.
Odd week for the NFC since both 1st and 2nd seed were upset
Which is why it stung so much when we lost to the damn Cardinals. A great opportunity lost. But we finally got a ring last season.
And the NFC CG featured two 9-win teams
@@Phinal_Flash LLLLLLLL Cardinals are awesome
@@nifty5799 yeah, congrats. That 08 win was your Super Bowl.
Phinal Flash yeah I just feel like the storylines would’ve been perfect if the cardinals won but honestly a battle of Pennsylvania would’ve been great that year
First of all, this is probably my worst loss as a Giants fan, since I started following them in 1984. 89 vs The Rams, 97 against The Vikings, and 02 against 49ers all hurt, but this 2008 Giants team was destined for another Super Bowl Championship. Burress cost The Giants a shot at a dynsaty. Real talk.
However, "Epic Upset" lol. Come on. Considering The Eagles had already beaten us in The Meadowlands earlier in the season, I think NFL is exaggerating a bit here. Disappointing from a Giants fan's prospective, but I knew going in this game could easily be lost. "Epic Upset" 😂😂😂😂 stop it
MrBaddog7676 dude ur just triggered that u got smacked by my eagles. Also serious talk now, can you maybe tell Barkley to stop killing the eagles? His team is costing him the loss. He’s carrying. HES SO GOOD. WE CANT STOP HIM!!! Definitely something to be excited for if I were u
@@bobjoe2448 Not triggered at all. Epic upset means Philly wasn't a good team and had no chance. They had already beaten us. Minor upset, maybe, but not epic.
And yes, Barkley has been amazing! So much talent! The only bright spot in another dark season for us.
No, it was definitely an "epic upset". The Eagles went from 5-4-1 with McNabb getting benched, to somehow sneaking in the playoffs on the final day of the season. This was a gigantic upset. The Giants were a much better team. This was not a very good Eagles team. A declining Westbrook and a rookie DeSean Jackson with McNabb on the tail end of his career.
@Blue Skeptic exactly. This was a massive upset. At the halfway point of this season the Eagles looked like they would be picking Top 10 in the upcoming draft.
WHERE YA HIDIN BADDOG!!?!!???!! hahahahaha
I miss the Reebox nfl jerseys
Same. The Nike uniforms are garbage in my opinion.
I was convinced the Eagles would win it all after this game.
Asante Samuel INT 1:03-1:28
McNabb TD 1:28-1:44
Brent Celek TD 7:50-8:04
Failed 4th & 1 8:32-8:55
Failed 4th & 2 9:26-9:38
Desean Jackson 9:39-9:54
Quintin Mikell INT 10:17-10:37
End of Game 10:54
asante samuel doing something he should have done to giants last postseason in the super bowl
I didn't know Plaxico played offensive line. The Giants O-line was shockingly miserable in this game.
The Eagles were the Giants kryptonite during the Eli Manning Era. Philly's team structure really exploited the Giants weaknesses in the same way the Giants could exploit the Patriots weaknesses.
Giants were already collapsing despite being the #1 seed after Burress shot himself in the leg so I would never call this an upset.
PipeGuy64Bit you can call it whatever you want.., it’s an upset.. thanks
This is such a lie. This 2008 Giants team biggest strengths were not the passing game. It was their rushing attack and monster defense. They still had weapons out there. This was when Steve Smith was pretty good. Hixon was a great deep threat and Toomer could still play. Burress wasn't even having that great of a season before he shot himself.
Captain Nutsack but yet the giants were 10-1 before he shot himself 🤔🤔
Captain Nutsack Plax’s presence alone is a game changer. He’ll draw two defenders a lot of times which leaves other receivers open.
@@L1KECLOCKWORK facts. They went hand in hand. I'm not a Giants fan but watching them at full strength that year was special.
Miss Giants stadium
I think this season was the only time when the 4th seed hosted the conference championship game. The night before this the 4th seeded Arizona Cardinals topped the 2nd seed Carolina Panthers and got to host the Eagles the next week.
Yep till 2021 with the Rams
Joe Buck in the past 5-6 years has really stepped up his broadcast skills.
But My Goodness--He absolutely did horrible calling this NYG/PHI game. Listen carefully. He’s clearly not enthused at all when Eagles made a big play or when they stopped NY on the 4th downs… he sounded bummed even when Eli threw the game ending INT. Joe has improved as he now seems enthused for both teams. This one he clearly leaned to the NY fans like it was a Giants exclusive broadcast.
The top 3 defenses made the conference championship game that season. Steelers, Ravens, Eagles
The Eagles and Cardinals played a good NFC championship the following week.
But the Eagles defense could not stop Larry Fitzgerald he torched them for three touchdowns that game
Eli was so good back then
Deal with it Xo jr We had a better offensive system back then to.
Except when Asante Samuel was on the field.
Not really...
Time for the Giants to flip the script and get their long-awaited revenge this Saturday night in the 2022 divisional round
I was there for this game. I remember dominating the first half and sitting next to obnoxious eagles fans. Yeah. That day sucked
Earth, Wind, and Fire were an awesome 1-2-3 rb punch prior to that season.. man Plaxico just couldn't keep it together
Eagles vs giants 2023 divisional round
Go birds
Oh sure you pick that one off Asante...
Antonio pierce was the last g linebacker for the giants
Until Blake Martinez
I remember watching this live, and it's still odd to see a home game for the Giants in the playoffs.
They defeated the Falcons 28 - 2 at home in the 2011 NFC Playoffs
@@yaahlabanyamyan144 24-2 not 28-2, don't secretly boost score to make giants look stronger

Im an eagles fan and hate the giants but i always loved Brandon Jacobs. I miss those giant RBs
Last time the met in Divisional Round…
Absolutely forgotten game from the weirdest season so far this century. That Giants team looked dominant until Plaxico Burress shot himself. They would've likely smoked Arizona and had a defense of their title against that Steelers team.
McNabb killed alot of worms on that field that day. Poor Giants we ve had their number the past 20 years.
better then ELI on that day.... loser went home.
The Eagles then had a really good MLB #55. He had size and speed. I really like him. I think he injured himself the following year during a preseason workout.
My last game at Giants stadium. Went to boot camp a month later. Phillys tortured me ever since
Besides the super bowl win, this was the biggest upset I've witnessed as a fan. 2008 was a crazy year for philly. Beat the odds to even make the playoffs that year
Asante Samuels is definitely the manning brothers favorite receiver
The giants would’ve won back to back titles if Plaxico didn’t cheddar bob himself
Facts. They could’ve easily won this game
I disagree
Time for some payback
Definitely all the suffering the eagles have caused us since the manning era I love a shot with no pressure
Giants always finds way to choke against the Eagles in the Meadowlands, no matter the score, post- or regular season games
This was the most impartial joe buck has ever been
every fan was fighting that day eagles vs giants is no joke dont bring your kid to that i was 7 years old watching grown ass men fight in the stands
As a Giants fan this is the game where my team started being scared of playing the Eagles.
They should’ve shown McNabb running out of bounds and picking up the phone for a penalty lol
If plaxico played in this game and the giants still played like they did I think they’d still lose. They made a lot of mistakes and I don’t think with plaxico it would’ve changed anything
This isnt the upset you all think it is. Once Plaxico got taken off the team for that dumb gun sh--,the offense was done for that year. They lost 2 of their last 3 entering this game. Most Giant fans i knew, knew it was going to be a short trip.
I think you guys still lose
7:54 at least Brent Celek got to win a Super Bowl for the Eagles
Poor Eli. Where is he going to go now? Can't wait to see him on another team and go 116-116 again.
This proved Giants Superbowl win over Patriots was a fluke. Eli bust.
U don’t call a guy that won 2 sbs and had several good seasons a bust, sorry.
although yes, the sb wins were flukes, giants are still good, and eli is no bust guy
0:49 To this day, I'm still stunned Eli didn't look to his right to see Steve Smith open for a potential TD 😩😫
I always forget how good the giants were in 2008. The only 2 season they seemed good were their 2 postseason runs to the Super Bowl
that steve smith fumble at the very end is the goofiest turnover ive ever seen what was he trying to accomplish
God this hurt so bad
Psalms 6:2
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
Question: How much do Philly fans owe Donovan McNabb?
Answer: So much. Super Bowl run, upsets, a QB way ahead of his time.
players wore huge shoulder pads compared to today's players
A QB sneak on 4 and inches when you have a 270-lb running back?
How was this an upset? The Eagles have owned the Giants for years.

For the life of me why don’t I remember this game. 🤔🤔
If these Giants would've had these guys last season, they would've been Super Bowl contenders. But NO, ever since Eli retired, they haven't been the same since. 2008 was epic for Big Blue but came just short.
giants just sucked, but their 2 rings were epic
Good
Big game this weekend
Still mad we lost to the Browns on Monday night that year 🤣
Not sure who you mean by "we". If you're an Eagles fan, the Eagles beat the Browns in the MNF game they played it.
I remember that game. Eli had the shit face walking the sideline like “I can’t believe we lost to THESE mofos!”
i feel like the giants should use this game as motvation
Who else googled Asante Samuel Jr. after seeing Senior's pick?
This was interesting.....................
Kevin Boss wasn’t a boss
Coughlin must love andy reed big red always put a hurting on the giants
As a bears fan, the giants would’ve finished at least 14-2 with plaxico and they would’ve beaten the steelers in the super bowl. They had a legendary run game and defense
It’s cold as fuck and mcnabb out there throwing lasers I would hate to be his receivers
