    Aside from the Super Bowl winning season, this was one of my favorite games as an eagles fan. Unfortunately, fortunately followed up by one of the worst losses in eagles history in Arizona, which still irks me to this day.

    • @jmc28J17
      @jmc28J17 2 года назад +6

      Same with me. The loss to Arizona still irks me to this very day as an Eagles fan. I will admit that I don't follow football today nowhere near as close as I did in the 2000s and early 2010s. I couldn't even tell you the starting lineup today for Philly and didn't even care for their Superbowl 52 win against the Patriots. But during the McNabb era and even sometime after when it looked like Foles would be the next franchise QB, I stood by the Eagles during the good and bad. If they had a chance to win a Superbowl with McNabb, Dawkins and Westbrook on the team, I feel this would have been the year against the Steelers. Think about it, it would have been a Cinderella story had the Eagles won Superbowl 43. The 2008 Philadelphia Eagles started the season very average standing 3-3 by their bye week. During this season, they would tie against Cicinnati then the very next week get blown out by Baltimore, and McNabb would be benched. They would come back on a winning streak against Arizona, only to lose to the Redskins on week 16, but beat the Cowboys week 17 just making it in as the 6th seed with a 9-6-1 record. Had they won with everything they went through during the regular season, and win as the 6th seed, it would have made a great NFL documentary one day. But it is what it is. We can only dream about that scenario now. However, I still enjoyed the McNabb era. That era had some of my favorite players.

      Eh. If you really think about it, it just goes to show that records and home field doesn't mean a thing. NYG went all the way the year prior at 10-6. Besides, Philly got bounced in the very next round and a short week later by a 9-7 Arizona Cardinals team with a QB who was, what? Going on 38 in early 2009? Lol.
      After this year, the Giants went and drafted Hakeem Nicks who helped them win a Super Bowl in 2011. It sucked he got injured and shouldve had a longer career with the team.
      Sure, at the time, it was lousy to see an undeserving Phildadelphia Eagles team end the historic Giants title run from 2007, while, not football related, it was certainly nice to see the Yankees win the world series vs the Phillies as defending champions in 2009. Joe Buck in the past 5-6 years has really stepped up his broadcast skills.
    But My Goodness--He absolutely did horrible calling this NYG/PHI game. Listen carefully. He’s clearly not enthused at all when Eagles made a big play or when they stopped NY on the 4th downs… he sounded bummed even when Eli threw the game ending INT. Joe has improved as he now seems enthused for both teams. This one he clearly leaned to the NY fans like it was a Giants exclusive broadcast.
