Why would anyone do this? They won't even last half as long out of the shell and you don't even need to refrigerate eggs in the shell. Outside of western countries you won't be finding the eggs in the refrigerator.
I mean to each there own but this really isn't a good idea.

Yeah that is an old hack before the egg holder containers came out 👍🏻 that's why a lot of people just started getting the egg whites from the carton also

It is a good idea but you're limiting the shelf life of the eggs as soon as you crack them and expose them to air. There is a reason why we use eggs to grow bacteria in. The processed eggs that you can already buy in the supermarket like this have also been pasteurised for longevity and to kill any pathogens that might be lingering in the raw eggs. Just as for every day eggs are not refrigerated they lose 3 days worth of overall shelf life. It's mostly due to the porous nature of egg shell which allows air in over time.

Eggs 🥚 were stored onboard ships back in the day . They boiled them in water 💦 for 30 seconds and then placed in a barrel for up to 6 months before cooking with.
