Playing the first uncharted game when it just came out with no spoilers at all and the game all of a sudden evoking the supernatural BLEW MY MIND. NakeyJakey did a video about it, but I lived it. I'm 29 and that game has SOOO MUCH nostalgia.
The only uncharted game I played prior was the 4th one, as soon as I saw this video in my notifs I just had to buy the collection so I could watch this video. Given how there was 0 supernatural elements in 4, the weird wendigo skin crawler shit in the first game kinda freaked me out too
Being a Panamanian, I can definitely confirm that we have Uncharted playing in our museums 24/7 bc it’s our real history. We also have the big statue that only comes out in Halloween. It adds ambiance to the place. Kids lost their parents before we figured out that the dust made people mad. We figured it out eventually though. Y’all should visit!

I just realized that Uncharted would be kind of a kickass D&D campaign. You, like, send the players on a treasure hunt with a couple of NPC's; a grizzled vet that acts kinda suspicious and a, like, a Bard or somethin' there to document the trip to find this long lost city of gold. You run across a rival adventuring group and the grizzled vet seemingly dies or betrays you or something, then it's a race to get to the treasure and along the way you discover it's actually not a city, but because of a mistranslation it's "golden man" or something and it's a giant gold coffin with that zombie virus inside.
My favorite moment was definetly when known mass-murderer John Charted said "If only there was some kind of chart that would lead me to drake's fortune!" and then had no romantic interest in Elena.
Pixel Man was my favourite Uncharted side character, I loved his character arc throughout the whole series. Starting as a rival to Drake in the first game to being one of his best friends by the time of the third game. Pixel man truly is one of the characters of all time.

Played this when it came out and I was blown away by the graphics. Even my parents couldn't believe how beatiful this game was, especially during the cutscenes. I'm really happy that me and my dad were able to enjoy this since he was the one who introduced me to the Indiana Jones Movies while I was the one who introduce this series to him. Edit: I was so hyped when they announced the Uncharted Movie that I told my dad about it so we can see it once it came out. Needless to say that didn't end well and we both hated it. Tom Holland as Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully? That movie was such a mess.
What's the first rule of videogame movie tie-ins? That's right: however low your expectations of the movie are, it's always wise to lower them even further. That way, you can be suitably amazed if it turns out to be anything other than total dogshit 😂
Same thing happened to uncharted 4, people wouldnt believe the graphics. Everyone talked about how ultra realistic they were. Ididnt play the game but I watched the full playthrough back then and even I was amazed and thought that was peak realistic. Obviously the difference is much less now, u4 graphics are still good but nothing like what we have today. Also its not that they couldnt make the games more realistic back then, its just that average consumer's hardware wouldnt support that. In order to achieve better graphics in normal computers you either use more powerful hardware or use better optimisation or both. Sadly better optimisation is done after years of the game's release, like with cyberpunk or microsoft's flight sim.
The best part is how wallberg was supposed to be drake but the movie took ten years to make so they just recast the characters and kept him in as sully 😂
I'm always impressed that by the halfway point of these videos that the game still has more story to go. These videos manage to make things seem so much more wild than the games do.

(A pretty reprehensible character to begin with.) A guy who has folktales about him from N to South, across all continents in the Americas. And is at least ‘loosely’ connected with the idea of “El Dorado” But unless the maps for this game came from the same cartographers that haphazardly stuck “El Dorado” on every map they made because “it must be out here somewhere! Right?” I mean, you almost literally couldn’t further away from any of the Indonesian OR Malaysian archipelagos. Unless... Maybe it was actually his corpse that circumnavigated the globe?! Oh; nope. Eventually they'll have to re-brand the series into Unchartered, where you just sail aimlessly around the ocean until you run out of fuel and supplies and die of thirst or hunger or exposure or some combination therein. It'll be an amazing game!
I worked on this game and for years afterward Sully's gruff muttering about coffins and gold would intrude on my thoughts. Thank you for exhuming this buried trauma.

As much as I loved the Uncharted series, it was after the fourth's ending I was thinking "He has killed so many people for his all his wealth and he still gets a happy ending. No one has PTSD at all." At least in the Tomb Raider reboot, there are comics and cutscenes that show Lara Croft had some PTSD from the first game. Even though she only struggles with one kill then goes on a killing spree. Shout out to the editor for the edits, made my day better.
It is sad we won’t see Her Majesty grace us with her wonderful story telling abilities anymore, but I think we all know she would want us to move forward, into a new, greater era of Storymode.

In case anyone’s curious 32:32 Kunyuk (or Konyok in this case I guess) meant monkey in Sundanese (one of Indonesia’s many traditional languages), therefore I believe they actually spoke in Indonesian in this game, not Malay as IH said. Anyways great video as always!

As much as I loved the Uncharted series, it was after the fourth's ending I was thinking "He has killed so many people for his all his wealth and he still gets a happy ending. No one has PTSD at all." At least in the Tomb Raider reboot, there are comics and cutscenes that show Lara Croft had some PTSD from the first game. Even though she only struggles with one kill then goes on a killing spree.
