In case anyone's having trouble taking the panel off, I found it easiest to start in the back/top-right corner (above the outside door handle).
Note that there are several clips and they're on quite firmly so it's pretty tough to get it off (and put it on). Be careful not to break any connector clips, or more importantly, wires.
