So funny yoiu mention the storage in the centre console. Did not see it until this week when I changes out the centre for installing a wireless charger (great add on by the way, hook up to the rear lighter for power). Great video - thanks.
Well done video. New Subscriber. A couple of thoughts... The high beam leveling light switch is also great for folks in rural areas with prolific deer populations. Being able to throw your high-beams a little further down the road can be a life saver for you and the deer! - I find the auto high beam dimming switch to be far less of a good idea. It will automatically turn your high-beams off when approaching reflective highways signs thinking it's an approaching vehicle. This happens especially in rural areas and is generally a pain in the butt.
Here is a handy feature. The antenna. Use the antenna as a guide for height clearance. Comes in handy in parking garages. There are some people that replace the antenna with a stubby one without realizing the purpose of the factory antenna. :)
Ya know...someone else mentioned that a while back. I’d never even thought of it! I went with a shorter antenna myself to keep from hitting the garage opening.
Check out the secret storage. Lift the long cover left of the coffee cup holder then when you remove it lift the coffee cup holder out. There is a small storage in there - perfect for hiding a few dollars etc.
Good video my salesman didn’t know squat about my 2020. The auto dim is a nice feature but I’ve found out too many times meeting traffic with dim headlights it doesn’t go to low beam.
@@RobMotive What year is your Tundra? I see from the badge on the center console that you have a Limited, as do I. My 2018 Limited has sensors front and back. Appreciate all your videos. Keep up the good work!
Hello good sir! Well this time last year I was homeless and today in the matter of an hour I will be driving my Rent-A-Car to acquire and drive away in my first-ever not only pick up truck but my Toyota 2013 Tundra!... brother I can't tell you like when I saw the photos and you know how guy like with I don't have good credit but I have some cash to put down so yeah yeah yeah a range of what you want or can afford and then your little a little .. and my knowledge trucks were in cars and in general is very very very limited and it's somewhat superficial I'm not going to lie.. I narrowed it down to a Ford 150 or the tundra.. and then 150 Solar way and it was just Tundra but given the tire size and some have list some have after market lifts more than others with the different bodies and Etc. When I saw the photographs online I didn't hesitate to reach out and express my interest I'm in New Jersey and service dealer videos by hour and 40 minutes away but I made the track up there and brother Gwen ight tell you the only thing I can equate the feeling I had when I laid eyes on the 2013 was how I feel when like I met a girl that I fell in love with or was just smoking hot there's no other way I can give Justice to buy I was blown away by completely are when you're not interested in the same car you don't really pay much mind you would but when you start really liking them you but anyway I just stumble on your site right now and I want to thank you I can't wait to enjoy all your programs thank you for taking all the time and effort into him and I'm really grateful it's it's it's a monumental thing for me with the freedom just a feeling of it any when I got in the truck that was really I mean I was already hooked but I'm a pretty big guy and I'm sure you know you can testify better than anyone the body the Baltic Sea cabin side I love it so much because I am notorious I'm going to help us with her and I was like I'm still in shock I'm almost scared to drive it off the lot anyway great work sir
I believe those 2 spots under the arm rest were designed to store the bed lock key. At least that’s how it is on the Tacoma. That’s why most pens don’t actually fit well there.
Hmm, Tacoma has the push start and smart key. But it doesn’t come with power tail gate lock. So they give you this separate key for the bed. That spot you showed fits that key perfectly. I’ve tried jamming pens in there but they don’t fit haha. I guess tundra ignition key doubles as tailgate lock key.
Hey Rob, love your channel, I find out more information on my 2015 Tundra, and this video was something I had always wondered why I had these switches. Since the dealership didn't know (Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat) didn't know squat about these switches. Anyway, can you elaborate on that button on the lower right of the panel; the one that shows a car swerving?
Thanks Cameron. That button is to turn off/on traction control. The short explanation- when active (should always be on) it helps maintain drive power and to prevent the drive wheels from spinning on slippery surfaces👍
Ayy rob i got a question so i got a 2016 toyota tundra just bought it about a month and everytime i turn off my heater i can still feel lil heat out the air vents would u know anything about this
I like the headlight feature.up and down. Also like the auto headlights feature. Also my Like my 2019 TRD STORT ..hope it holds up. I also Put a K& N Air-filter. Just changed the oil just turned over 33,000 miles. Also in settings you go in a change the color of screen...on radio and ect. Hope it helps... thanks for sharing your video stay safe...everyone. 😷
I keep a dial type tire gauge in my tissue area. The pen holders were new to me! Thank you! Quick rant: the lock button is not lit on my Tundra. Imagine if you need to jump in and lock the door quickly... in the dark and cant see the damn button! Rant over...
The parking sensor works for the front of the Tundra also. When I go through a drive through I have to turn it off. Also when someone walks in front of the truck it goes off. Great if you have small kids playing around your truck
I'm sorry but that's what I meant. You're right because when I pull up to park it doesn't go off. I'm also the guy with the Toyota dealership damaging my drivers door. The Big Girl goes for the start of her operation tomorrow. lol They're giving me a Highlander to use.
Depending on how you drive I’ve gotten anywhere from 9 mpg (off-road and towing) 13 mpg (city) 18 mpg (highway). The city number can fluctuate a lot (+-3mpg) depending on traffic, lights, and distance. Compared to other trucks this mileage is maybe 10% - 15% less efficient at its worst. However, if you consider the money you will save in rentals, repairs, and your personal time- then the Tundra ends up being cheaper! My range meter usually show 425 miles on a full tank.
If you don’t turn off completely that rear bed light and you have a cap you could hit it with your knee and drain your battery as I have done several times with my past tundras because you don’t see it.
My 19 Platinum has power folding mirrors. You have to push a button to get them to fold in, but it has that option... I bought it used, so I have no idea how much it cost the original owner. But knowing Toyota, I'm sure it was expensive!
Very interesting video that covers nifty features in the Tundra line. :-) Room for Improvement: I think he could have edited the film; e.g., he does "take 2" without removing "take 1", and he could have shortened (tightened) the presentation with a scrip (or if he had one a better written script). Search for some of the manuals on script writing. One thing that popped into my mind was that presenters of 'how-tos" and "gotchas" should make a PDF file that folks can download (maybe at a small price via PayPal?).
None of his videos are scripted. He does this to maintain authenticity and a first impressions view versus a rehearsed edited presentation. His videos represent a real owner’s perspective instead of a crafted production.
Ha! I have a 2018 and didn't realize half of those features. Very helpful, thanks.

Helpful - thank you! Just bought a 2021 Tundra SR5 TRD Sport - love it.

Thank you for pointing this out!
For when you have the rear seats stowed, the right & left rear headrests have a button to slide up, then tip forward to give more visibility.
I wish my '08 had that headlight adjuster. I like that.
It’s a pretty coo! I like being able to adjust the lights to my liking👍
Thanks....I forgot the same things you did...funny.
Lol😬
I swear I did not know about the back up button, thanks for such information 👍🏿💯💯
Glad to help👍
Thanks I’ve totally forgot these things I just put key in and go
Check out the secret storage. Lift the long cover left of the coffee cup holder then when you remove it lift the coffee cup holder out. There is a small storage in there - perfect for hiding a few dollars etc.
I never noticed that!
Don`t know if it`s been mentioned butyou can program your garage door opener so you no longer need the remote. The button is on the rearview mirror
I don’t have home link.
On my Tundra i don't have the high beam button. Did you know that if you push the tow haul button it gives your Tundra more power
I bought on line a tray for $25 it sits inside your console, frees up a lot of space
Cool thanks for sharing
👍. Thanks for watching 👍
Good video my salesman didn’t know squat about my 2020. The auto dim is a nice feature but I’ve found out too many times meeting traffic with dim headlights it doesn’t go to low beam.
I believe it. Typically the have a very basic understanding of the truck.
The proximity sensor would be especially nice for someone that's just beginning to drive.
I agree..especially in a large truck👍. I just wish there were sensors in the front too.
@@RobMotive What year is your Tundra? I see from the badge on the center console that you have a Limited, as do I. My 2018 Limited has sensors front and back. Appreciate all your videos. Keep up the good work!
Mine is a 2021👍
Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the LED on headlights on 2016 tundra? I see trucks on the road with them off.
Looks like you.may have forgotten. The truck comes with 3 button garage door opener remotes.
I know!! I need to program them!!!!!!😬
@@RobMotive its ok....only took me a year lol
It’s strange isn’t it!! I look at it every once in a while and think “I need to do that”...but I never do!!

Just curious how your range says 469 miles. Haven’t had that since I bought it. Lol.
My 1794 Toyota Tundra has a 35 gallon gas tank. That would put you in the 13.4mpg range
Ayy rob i got a question so i got a 2016 toyota tundra just bought it about a month and everytime i turn off my heater i can still feel lil heat out the air vents would u know anything about this
Yup, perfectly normal. That’s the way the system works. You need to adjust the temperature setting to where it’s comfortable when the system is “off”.
Or just hit the recirculation button when you turn your unit off
Do you have any year preferences between 2015 and later Tundra's? If so, why? Thanks.
I do not. As long as it’s in good shape and mechanically sound, it’s all good👍
@@RobMotive Thanks!
I believe the option to turn off the park assist sensor is for when towing a trailer.
That makes sense!!👍

Tony is you want to keep that truck a long time, get rid of that K&N filter. Use the oem air filters, they actually filter the air.

Yeah it’s a drag that it doesn’t have a frontal sensor. Good luck on a speedy recovery!!!😁
They gave me a Toyota Highlander for the time.
Well..at least you’ll get to try something new out👍

I don't have auto brights.. I have a bsm button 😔
I did not get a tray for the interior of my console. I’m driving a 2021.
It’s aftermarket. It doesn’t come with the truck.

Got one off amazon for $29.00. Really helps
Just took delivery of 2021 SR5 TRD, it had a tray in the console...
Nice👍
No savia para que era ese espasio donde van los lapises grasias👍🏼
You have almost a full tank of gas.. think you could go 100 miles or so or not quite?
Somewhere around 360👍
So what kind of mileage to you actually get? I would like a tundra but have heard the mileage is awful.
I was s bit off. Actually around 450-500 miles. Somewhere between 14-15MPG. It’s a 36gl tank👍

I don’t have the high beam button. Bet that’s has to do with the safety sense system.
I really dislike that TSS nonsense!!!!
How easy/difficult was front corner bumper replacement/install?
Very IMO! I had it done at the dealer. This time I’m using covers and I’ll do it myself👍
I use the ‘tissue” holder as a soft leather wallet and card holder. Keeps my wallet thin.
My Tacoma itself keeps my wallet thin!!😬
