You told us James Franklin wasn’t overrated, this is another example in a plethora of examples of James Franklin not getting it done against top opponents, and this team didn’t even have their head coach, James Franklin most overrated coach in the country
To be fair. I don't see any team in the b10 beating Michigan, with or without Harbaugh. This is a veteran team that last year went to Ohio and dominated. That has rarely happened in the past few years.
@@Capadona40you think they pay him millions for him to make the excuse “oh well they have better players then us” he is a coach, hire good coaches to coach your current players and recruit better, all those he controls with his coach’s, and during the game make smart decisions and give your team the best chance to win, he is being out coached by the teams around him and that is unacceptable for the price he is paid
I saw that game completely opposite. UM's tackles were beat clean at least 5 times in the first two drives. They couldn't protect JJ so they ran the ball. I think this was way more about James Franklin and his coordinators not adjusting. Manny Diaz was over aggressive with his blitzes. Yurcich and the offense was anemic. With all of that the game came down to two fumbles that both bounced UMs way. If the Corum fumble is recovered by PSU they go up 10-0 and that game is completely different.
Yup, a lot of people are ignoring these big facts and I am someone who has said all year watching michigan that their oline is not what they were last yr. They are not great in the run game (needed extra linemen just to run vs psu) and have been bad in pass pro all yr but mccarthy has scambled and made plays vs bad teams. People still will tell you michigan has a great oline and it's because they don't watch the games
This was not as dominant as people make it out to be. Michigan had 5 2nd half possessions & punted 3 of them away. They would rather punt than attempt a pass, I don’t know how u can confidently say they would’ve had a response if Penn State scored
Josh I always enjoy your analysis. As always Michigan is bigger and stronger and used extra lineman that Penn State did have a good answer, but I also believe the didn’t pass because they couldn’t pass. Penn State’s D ends were embarrassing the Michigan tackles. Michigan had to run.
5-year recruiting composites show Penn State recruiting just as good as Michigan. This should've been a coin flip game. The coaching was the difference.
Let's not glaze over the fact Michigan scored their fewest points all season and the game was a one score game for most of it. Their streak of 30 points per game came to an end as did McCarthy's Heisman hopes. Still must have been the most B1G ever
It's a great defense, certainly. 24 is the most points that has been scored on them all year. But Michigan's streak of not allowing a single point in the third quarter is still alive and that's insane.
When you only run what 5? possessions in a half trying to kill clock it is hard to put up over 30 points while plotting down the field as slow as possible
You aren’t wrong for taking Penn State! The game was coached in a 1/10 fashion. With even moderately better coaching Penn State wins easily. Our OC is out now so hopefully we bring in a far better one! Keep in mind, we witnessed the worst display of game planning in a lifetime by coach Franklin and Penn State only lost by 1 touchdown.
Can’t get our hopes up until Franklin is gone. We were giving Franklin his last chance during the Michigan game. Fans this year felt we have a team that could compete. If Franklin showed even better effort with Michigan I wouldn’t say it’s time to let him go but he took dropping the ball to a new level😂
They are who we thought they are, except you Josh, PSU is the same team as last year with a worse QB. Told ya. Not sure the hype was warranted in the offseason. But even after we see that PSU doesnt throw the ball down teh field and Allar is no better than Clifford, you still picked them to win. Good call.
Penn State is in recruiting limbo, where they try to get kids who can beat OSU and UM. The sum is not equal to the parts. Great players who don’t quite fit together. Sell out one way or the other. Spread option
JJ McCarthy should not be a Heisman candidate. Here's how you know: ask yourself, "if I replaced my QB with JJ are we better?" And if you can't say that for every team that doesn't have a QB currently in Heisman Race (UW, Oregon, LSU) than he ain't it, he ain't the guy to win the top prize in CFB.
I've been saying that forever. Michigan don't run an offense that makes a Heisman winner. The Heisman is a QB trophy. It goes to the guys who throw it 40 times a game. Michigan don't run that type off offense. Now do I think jj would be in NY if he was on an osu or a team that throws the ball far more then run It. I think you would have a case for it. At the end of the day JJ only wants one thing win the natty. He don't care about anything else. If he did he would have not allowed 38 run plays in a row.
Michigan fans who closely watched all the games this season were legitimately worried that their Woverines no longer had a run game. J.J. looked like a #1 draft pick in a passing offense. It was reassuring to see Michigan pound Penn State into oblivion with nothing other than the supposedly defective and missing run game. We come out of the PSU game reassured that we have a well-rounded offense that will forcibly take whatever a defense leaves open for the taking. This is, perhaps, why Blue fans were so much more satisfied with this victory than fans nationwide who seem to think it showed that Michigan had no passing game.
I completely disagree lol. If Penn State would have had any offense at all they win that game. Take away those two long runs and Penn State out ran Michigan. It only seemed lopsided because Penn State couldn't score to save their life. But if you look at the stats that you posted here they are actually pretty dam close.
Couldn’t score why? Because Michigan wouldn’t let them just like they’ve done to everyone else. They scored the most points of any team so far this season. What you’re saying is a cop out.
They can trust mcpick 6 all they want but i have never been impressed with him. This is the best secondary osu has had since 2019 and michigans wr's are not good enough to win consitently against osu

I appreciate your kind words but Re: my previous message on your prediction, I was expecting a hand written and personalized apology
Franklin has had six offensive coordinators in ten years. Maybe the OCs aren't the problem? I wonder how many more he will have before his contract is up in 2031.
Don’t really need your head coach when the other team is ass

Great show.
You told us James Franklin wasn’t overrated, this is another example in a plethora of examples of James Franklin not getting it done against top opponents, and this team didn’t even have their head coach, James Franklin most overrated coach in the country
But but PSU was not ranked higher
He not overrated he properly rated..
To be fair. I don't see any team in the b10 beating Michigan, with or without Harbaugh. This is a veteran team that last year went to Ohio and dominated. That has rarely happened in the past few years.
Mich is a much better team. Better OL, QB, WR and RB’s.
This guy knows ball
Penn State is not multiple. This means they can only defend in one way. Michigan’s offense is multiple and showed it Saturday.

Run run run run run run run run
Penn State offense is pathetic. Jimbo Fisher as OC would be an upgrade.
Wish they would suspend Franklin for just one big game so Penn State could win one of these
Well this was a football game.... That's my compliment. What's yours????.
This game was more about PSU being so inept offensively than how good Michigan was during this game.
Saw the game game.
Michigan looked good, but honestly I thought Ohio State looked better against Penn State then Michigan did
How so???
OSU won by 8 at home.
UM won by 9 on the road, in a very hostile and loud venue, without their Head Coach.
Stop thinking.. your nowhere near right.....
Keep telling yourself that 😂
5-year recruiting composites show Penn State recruiting just as good as Michigan.

Maybe then Penn State can beat ohio! 😅
Can’t get our hopes up until Franklin is gone. We were giving Franklin his last chance during the Michigan game. Fans this year felt we have a team that could compete.

I'm an Oregon alum, and I think if the Heisman was today, Daniels from LSU would get my vote. His weekend was legendary.@@siyeezy1
If Penn State had a good play caller, Michigan goes down,it's obvious,!!

Well they weren't playing Georgia.
Its weird an Osu fan doesnt big up his own team to stop UM run game...wow are u conceding defeat already..
Best sales job on a 9 point win!!! Way to push a narrative Michigan’s win looked slightly better than Georgia’s 52-17 throttling of Ole Miss 😂

I completely disagree lol. If Penn State would have had any offense at all they win that game. Take away those two long runs and Penn State out ran Michigan.
