- The deep dive into Drogas Wave has begun... First I want to look at simply the cover of the album and the very first track, which isn't necessarily a track at all. I know some of what I say regarding the album cover may be a reach, but I wanted to present every possible idea that came to my mind when looking at the artwork, so when it comes time to start connecting things, some things we can confirm or deny or simply leave up to individual interpretations. Please subscribe if you like, this took FOREVER! Below are the credits and things you should study if you want to know more about where I got this information, or want to do some searching yourself. Also forgot to Credit Bruce Almighty in credits, that is where Morgan Freeman as God came from lol

THREAD FOR FUTURE DISCOVERIES
The Manilla's on the cover could also be representative of ONE single Manilla (or slave) in motion in the ocean. You can assume what the meaning of a manilla moving through water is, but this would be a direct connection to the concept of what I will call rebirth for now which Lupe talks about multiple times on the album.
The two objects also look like headphones, which could represent music/the music industry/consumers of music etc. riding waves... Or lupes music creating waves... Or the effects that listening to music may have on you...
@@CELLY96 Fingers crossed this project hasn't been abandoned? I'm constantly creeping around here lol.
@@adamhigh Same.
Did you do the album
When it takes 7 and a half minutes to explain the 20 sec intro track and cover art to the hour and 40 minute conceptual double album made by one of the most lyrical artists of all time.
That’s how YOU KNOW Lupe is the best rapper oat
Also just realized I didn’t breakdown the actual poem... don’t think that is very important though. It’s fairly straightforward, you can decipher that yourself, but really the painting speaks for itself, and the painting itself is more important to the story of the album. The poem is really just a hint to lead you to the painting basically
Looking at the album cover, I never seen it as two Manilas interlinking. But I saw a single Manila casting a shadow; as in the shadow of slavery cast even on to the present. But I guess that is how art is right.
I think specifically the white outline on the album being a reference to white people/slavers and then the fact that the line divided dark/light are both big stretches on my part. I wanted to present every idea that I came up with , even though most likely incorrect. Look forward to getting to the actual music but this felt like an easy and important place to start.
Also the water line going through the heads representing death is a reach too I think but 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks Celly! Do you plan on any more?
The manilla and its shadow look like a boat at some angles
im squinting at it bro i don't see it lol
Man, I’m excited about this collection of videos to arrive. Thanks mate. This album needs this, I wouldn’t be surprised if, in years to come, people come back to these videos for guidance. As always, Lupe too ahead of time for this generation.
also the manilla can be seen as a D or a W, for Drogas Wave, if you look closely just a about every letter in the words drogas and wave can be seen in the manilla. Check out the reddit pages for this album I've seen a lot of good theories on there, that's where I learned a few from. and thanks for breaking down this album, it might be one of the most complex pieces of art ever.
Great video keep it coming. Lupe the 🐐. So much to unpack, sybliminol, deep, and clever lyricism, with concepts that relate to the past, present, and future of mankind as well as Lupe himself.
this video is incredible
Well done!! I can't wait for the rest of the breakdown
Vladz The Scholar same this got me hype gonna be something special🙏🏽
Know Lupes tough to get thru I’ve been wanting to make a vid breaking down mural forever, appreciated this
keep up the work bro. really wanting the follow up videos
Need part 2 bro this is great
When the cover art alone has enough concept to go in MoMa, damn. Thanks for breaking this down 👌🏻
and this is also such a good quality video, wow.
Great job dawg
Ay man this is amazing, and actually I don't really think any of that was a reach. Can't wait for the rest
I need more!
Subscribed!
I will watch every video. I'm aware that dissecting this album will take hours each. Please upload :)
Afuroh Goat I will soon!! Whole album will be done eventually been stuck thought trying to figure out why Drogas was in Spanish...
omg this video's so good
Please keep going
you're doing too much. thank you so much.
Ayyyyyy

Idk why to me, the two manillas almost looked like a mother holding her child
The manilla sure as hell look like headphones
Aye Man U gotta check out NF one of the realists artists out there
So whatever happened to this series? I was waiting for it 😩
Jonathan Tito episode two next week for sure ! Been moving plus dealing with ballervisions stuff it’s coming!
Celly good to hear. It’s a shame how underappreciated this album or even Tetsuo & Youth is. You don’t hear much substance in hip hop, let alone music these days.
Like and subscribed to the noti gang..
Celly when u doing another live stream
アップロードZetsu when I stream games it will be on twitch.tv/cellygames !
I don't know if anybody see the same as me but I see clearly past, present and future. Manilla represents slavery, is a thing of the past but its shadow is projected and gets to the present and also future.
How the fuck does lype generate so many interpretations to this gadam am done!!! Smh
Yo
Where's pt 2
Jared Budden this week!
False: is a one manila, and the behind it is a shadow of it
MAXCR8TOR okay Dwight 😂
Whose here in 2024👌
It's important to add that The Trans Atlantic Slave Trade was prophesied to happen to God's chosen people in the Bible
Deuteronomy 28:68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
Deuteronomy 28:48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
1619-2019 It's almost time to for God's chosen people to wake up. This Album was perfectly timed as If God is using Lupe to wake up his people.
@@terrancejohnson4408 There is nothing symbolic about what happened to our nation my brother.
You are lost my brother, leaning into your own understanding. Most people don't read the Bible and If they do they don't understand what there reading. The argument that we are just doing what a book says just because makes no sense. We have free will so it's impossible to make people follow something word for word especially If they don't even understand what there reading. So it's a coincidence that the History of the Negro is in a book compiled of Ancient text? I'm telling you it's not, but I guess it's easier to believe anything is a lie or simply superstition. The Bible talks about how lost our nation was gonna be do to us being cursed, you just farther confirmed it as being truth. I would advise you to do research and not just go with what makes you feel good.
