    No rapper manages to pack so much content inside his music like Lupe, the fact that you can listen to some of the songs and just enjoy them musically is great but if you are interested to learn more there is a whole world of references, metaphors, schemes, wordplay, concepts waiting.

      Lupe is a different breed. He can rap with the density of an Aesop Rock or Billy Woods while still maintaining that poetic Nas-like storytelling angle and those witty one liners of a Jay-Z or DOOM. Not to mention he’s been locked in flow wise and musically for years now.

    • @NasXShady

      I always could vibe out to some Lupe without knowing 80% of what he's saying lol. His beat/instrument selection is always on point "soulful". The graveyard of meanings of his raps, just get ready to some research like you're writing a paper, googling and youtube etc.

      He doesn't regard himself as one of the greats, I would say, based on his interviews and words out of his own mouth. It's hard to tell wether he's being humble or serious though; however that doesn't mean as fans we cannot still hail him as a GOAT! I love Lupe but recently I've started to appreciate different styles and I feel where he's coming from. I still regard him as MY personal favourite though I have to admit once I found Lupe I didn't really explore much.

    • @nyrisj
      @nyrisj 2 года назад

      Right? But I think there's a possibility that his sister could have taken it and expanded it to mean even more. If you listen to her intro, Ayesha fleshes it out in more literal examples than a movie reference. Lupe also historically does not like to tell people what his songs and albums are exactly about. Drill Music in Zion is a oxymoronic statement. It can be interpreted as garbage in heaven. Liquor with Food.
