Akuma is always top tier because he never has to play the same game as the opponent. Air fireball, dive kick, demon flip follow ups, and the teleport means he's out here playing an anime fighter against regular dudes.
This is one of my problems with him in 6. His teleport is ass in this one. Sure they gave a command grab but that I’m one of the ppl who liked the invul on teleport.

I remember that back in SFV I'd be telling beginners to switch to Ken all the time because it can be very hard to maintain your composure and figure out your opponent when you die so fast.
I bought street fighter 6 on launch but never played much because I wasn’t a big fan of the base roster. Once the leaks came out and we saw Akuma would be dlc I was excited because he’s my favorite street fighter character. He did NOT disappoint, Akuma has started my grind to learn and be good at a street fighter game.

I haven't played yet since the Akuma, but from what I've seen so far he does look kind of overpowered. Although that's been his thing as a character, he looks like he kind of breaks the game. However, from what I saw if you can wifd punish his low medium kick you can check his best combo as you would with Ken and kind of control what he does. Remember to avoid burning out, you'll need it to parry his fire ball and force his approach.
If yall haven’t heard, if you do Akuma’s back taunt and then spam down taunt, you will become Shin Akuma for that round, unlocking three moves, air double fireball no ex QCBPP, a super with I believe 2xQCBK (maybe 2 kick inputs) and another super I don’t know the input for. You’ll know you got it right when you see him eat the ball of rice while sitting down, you have to eat the entire riceball and the Shin Akuma buff is only per round. You’ll have to do the entire taunt process each round if you want it each round
He seems pretty balanced to me(also u can cancel demon flip into different aerials to apply different forms of pressure saw punkdagod do it) hope this helps!!✋🏼🙂↕️

I honestly cannot do classic mode. That’s why I think I’m the worst at this game because I’ve been playing street fighter 6 with the modern controls. I actually did try to use the classic controls I just couldn’t do it. That’s why I honestly think I’m the worst not saying everyone who uses the modern controls is the worst, I’m just saying I’m the worst because I can’t even use the classic controls.
As a gold player I don't consider Akuma cheap, I consider him "fast". It feels like he can get an edge on advantages/frames/movement over me whenever I play against him, and on top of that he just has an overall solid kit that there's no easy weakpoint to utilize. It's frustrating, and I wouldn't mind seeing him get some sort of weak ass teeny nerf, but I wouldn't call it cheap.
when are fighting game devs gunna realize that giving a character shit health or self harm mechanics isnt a trade off for making them the most impossible to fight characters in the game. if they dont let you play then their health means nothing

Can you do the Pikachuakuma classic? Demon flip (sometimes just empty jump or whiff a move in the air) land into instant raging demon? Or is there too much recovery after all the demon flip options?
I do think Demon Flip is weaker than past versions, because there is no threat of the airborne throw all recent versions had. You can just block it out until he lands.
I swear even after the addition of Akuma, it feels like every character's combos move at exactly the same pace/rhythm. Now that I've noticed it I can't not see it and it while Akuma is more fun than the other characters (to me) it makes this game feel a little less fun to spectate.

@@frozec8568 He starts with 90% damage, trash DP, doesn't get his proper kit until the first drink and good moves only on his 3rd. Everyone else starts with all their moves at 100% damage, and has a way better kit that doesn't hempen their gameplan.

@@FastAkira I’ve tried playing Lee and Bryan for weeks in yellow/orange ranks, with their more defensive playstyles, but constant heat smashes that force you to guess on block and deal large damage on hit, heat dashes that also make you guess, and chip damage, defense in this game is tough. Tried actually playing “aggressive” with a bit of poking with King, Victor, Eddy, and got them all to red in less than a week respectively, relying on one or two combos and knowledge checks/gimmicks. The one outlier I got to red recently was Claudio, but I focused on whiff punishing with his busted hopkick and comboing with that. A bit weird how I used to watch T7 videos talk on how Tekken is the most defensive fighting game, now look at how its played

Lp lp hold fw then hold lk hp. You can hold all 3 of the last buttons at once as long as you press fw first.
