Was it that long ago? Wow. I was a leftie sympathizer back then. So glad I escaped that mindset. But what will it take to convince our Donk friends that their leaders are no longer "the party of JFK"?

It is strange that both Trump and Joe are in this song. Even the lyrics reflect what is happening in the US right now. Great song. Even greater artist.
I haven't heard this brilliant song since May 1976 when Murray Head was the act before Elton John's Louder than Concorde show at Earl's Court in London. Brought back loads of memories of the person I was with. RIP JS.
Song about fallen heroes and their "clay feet". And Murry's plea to people from himself to the kind of 'Joe Public' who in fear of losing face, refuse to relinquish their faith in a fallen idol. Per Wikipedia. Yes, song written/provoked because of Nixon/Watergate, also includes the baseball player Joe Jackson scandal. And after the OJ Simpson case in 1994, the song was re-released. Personally I never considered sports stars, celebrities and 99% of politicians, heroes unless they also do other better things that makes them a true hero. All you have to do is see how people forgive these "heroes" even though they sometimes do awful things. ie abusing others, animals, being arrested for a range of crimes and being guilty, greed, lies for decades and so on.............and fans act like nothing happened. Forgiving to a point is one thing, but choosing to be blind on purpose is another. It's a shame on how much popularity a actor, singer or a sports star gets nowadays, compared to someone like a firefighter, a astronaut, a scientist, a doctor, etc. AND how obscene they are paid compared to real heroes in today's world.
The World Series was fixed on year in the 1920s. Chicago White Sox player Shoeless Joe Jackson was tried and it is alleged a child said these words to him outside the court.
Profound message from 45 years ago. Speechless rn.

Great song. Even greater artist.
In the lyrics one can also hear the panic of criminals that believed that 'they would never get caught'.
More relevant now than ever , we got kicked in the nuts but will recover and prosper , Real Safety and Respect everyone...
Words cannot express how much I love this song. I think I loved it the very first time I heard it.
Onr of the best song for me
From France

Hummmm together is the best way. Hello Hello
GREAT AND HIGH WORDS
PAROLES GÉNIALES ET PRENANTES
'Say it ain't so Joe please, say it ain't so, That's not what I want to hear Joe AND I got a right to know' (correct opening line)
Aime dans Quebec, loved in Quebec.

1 fois : they told us that our hero...
2ème fois : they told us that our hero
Qu'il arrive vite notre héros...
😍
Aller Joe dit lui. A présent tous cela n'a plus d'importance. Enfin...
this Joe, was a tricky tricky man
the same to me :)
Talking about you, Biden!!
Damn right! , respect..
we pinned our hopes on you joe...
Come On Man!!!
I prefer this version than the one in the album
dit lui Joe
Check Mate...we are back
2023 how accurate, even en the names are! The situation he's in speaks volumes, kinda creepy...
Edit:
Creepy by comparison, not the song .
can you believe this shit
what was the story about this song? i've heard about a star of base ball, and a scandal with bookmakers and fixed matches...when please? (i'm french)
The World Series was fixed on year in the 1920s. Chicago White Sox player Shoeless Joe Jackson was tried and it is alleged a child said these words to him outside the court.
I thought it was about the Watergate and how Nixon still got elected as POTUS a 2nd time.
It's both actually, if I remember well.
Song for Joe Biden
He's not Roger Daltry, even her can sing.
I hope it’s bye bye Joe or it’s bye bye America and ALL freedoms.
