- Designed as a sport bike, made to tour! This 2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT is basically a touring MT-09. With over 110 horsepower, the same engine, transmission, and chassis as the MT-09 (formerly FZ-09) this is a sport bike first and a tourer second. It is the definition is a Sport Touring bike.
Alright so we’ve established it has plenty of sport capability but what about the comfort side? Well this bike not only has a comfortable riding position for two people but a ton of helpful and fun features! Electronic cruise control, adjustable windshield, bright TFT display, FACTORY HEATED GRIPS, adjustable suspension, monokey design panniers, power outlet, center stand, and even adjustable riding modes and traction control!
The twisting roads of Silverton and Ouray, the highway rides to Denver or through the Four Corners are where this bike is most at home. Easy to live with, reliable, powerful, and versatile. The tracer GT will work anywhere!
I’d buy a bike from this guy and have no problem paying profit. Feature/benefit with a complete walk around. He’s the type of salesman that’ll get all your accessories installed while you’re in the finance office 💯👍🏻
Solid review of all the features! Clear and to the point
I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Vivaan Julius instablaster =)
@Drake Salvador I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Drake Salvador it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Vivaan Julius Glad I could help =)
Same exact bag system as the FJR. Nice and easy. This looks like an awesome bike. Thanks!
Very good salesman! Excellent explanation of all features of the bike. I never got that kind of service at a dealership until after I bought the bike..lol. Best video review of this bike on RUclips great job! Shame this body style was discontinued for the new design Tracer 9 GT.
Wow in 2021 they perfected perfection. I imagine in 2022 they will re-perfect perfection again lol!
Hahahaha
2020 color s better than thé New one
I really like the look of this bike! What is even better is that when the bags come off, it doesnt look odd. I do wish that some of these sport touring and adventure bikes come with larger infotainment screens with navigation, and bluetooth audio capabilities for radio and turn by turn directiions. I would also be pretty cool if bikes implement more convenience features like auto-route guidance to nearest gas stations and memorize destinations with traffic updates. I know it is likely that this tech would potentially make the bikes heavier but when buying a bike like this, I don't think an extra 5-10lbs is too much of an issue.
Who needs tech? Good engine, good suspension and just ride it. If you want to navigate, use a piece of paper and make a list of where you need to go. Stick it on the tank. Old school eh!
Best colour I’ve seen 👍
I am excited for the 2021.
I have one, it’s a great bike you won’t be disappointed 👌
Is the windscreen as horrible as I hear about?
@@SteveWKk I put an MRA Vario Touring on it. It's much better. Stock Screen is very loud.
Does it have cruise control?
Yes @@elmert84
Nice Job of explaining the features .. sounds like the screen and modes are easy to Navigate ..
Thank you! The screen really is easy to navigate. Yamaha did an excellent job of making the rider interface intuitive and easy to use.
@@handlebarmotorsports680 I bought an FZ-07 had not had a street bike since my 1984 RZ-350 which I still have..
I have side cases .. Top Case with luggage rack and a Tank Bag on the FZ-07 Madstd windscreen frame with a Triumph Tiger 1200 Windscreen..
The Tracer would better suit my needs and much more power.. I thought I would stay out of trouble with the slower FZ-07 but now wich I had more power.. Nothing more fun than smoking an Obnoxious Harley Davidson at a stop light ..
I am in Michigan .. My Local Power Sports Dealer does not deal on new modles but after a year they often give huge disounts seems they had and MT-900 Tracer for $9,400 not a GT..
Also the 2021 MT-09 has some nice improvments I assume the Tracer will get the same upgrades..
@@mikeskidmore6754 Absolutely. The tracer is getting the same treatment as the MT-09. It's kind of up to you. The new Tracer 9 GT has some great features but is over $2000 more than the tracer 900 gt in this video.
@@handlebarmotorsports680 Side cases .. and heated grips are pretty much a must have.. how many Liters are the side cases? Quick shifter is nice .. I assume not on the base model..
I might end up with a T-700 However that suits my needs more if I want ot ride to Alaska ..
@@mikeskidmore6754 I don't know exactly how big the side cases are but there are definitely a good size and lock using your ignition key.
If I can, this will be my next bike. I plan to use it when I’m doing my daily commute and when I’m doing short trips on my own. The bike I have now will be for my longer, cross country trips and for when my wife travels with me, 2 up.
That's awesome man! Let us know when you are looking to purchase and we can get you what you need!
What bike you have for long trips? I was wondering if this tracer 900 would be comfortable for cruising all day
@@Oscaru96 My current bike (and only one at this time) is a Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited. My wife and I do lots of 2-up long distance trips. I was thinking about the Tracer for daily riding and for solo 4 hour or less trips. I’ve been putting too many miles on my current bike.
I can imagine how comfty that Harley Is, but prices are very different, now looking forward to a new tracer 9 for the moment. Thank you.
@@Oscaru96 The tracer 900 will definitely be comfortable all day. The seat is a little hard for the sport aspect but you could definitely pound miles on it.
That sound....
Excellent presentation
that side panel system is actually pretty smart hahahaha always thought that every side panel should have a quick release button but i never thought of using the handle as a lever to unhook it
This looks like a perfect stablemate for my Superduke R - I'm off to Ebay! 🙂
excellent review!
Thank you! We always like hearing feedback
Great review! Thank you
Quality review. 👍
Thank you!
Brilliant review
Thank you!
Great job
Great bike. The brakes aren’t made by Brembo.
The rotors and calipers are Nissin but the hydraulics are Brembo
@@handlebarmotorsports680 The hydraulics? Sweet. I'll get a Brembo master cylinder on my Honda Cub and say it has Brembos. Legit.
I believe that there are no Brembo components used in either front or rear braking systems.
Yamaha's own in house brake system.
My next bike!! 😀🙏🏻
First comment. Take it easy dude, awesome video you got my sub. Hope your channel grows. Keep pushing dude.
Thanks bro! Excited for what the future holds!
Tell something about the vibration. It’s very uncomfortable after some 4krpm.
With the key being buried down there, it looks like there's no room to mount your phone. Pretty cramped space along the handlebar.
Been riding the thing a couple months now. The key location does suck to some extent. I've developed a habit of turning the handlebars full left which gives more clearance to get your hand down in there. But not gonna lie, I have big hands and its tight down there to grab the key.
It doesn't come with brembo brakes. Has Yamaha's own callipers still very good brakes on mine tho
Do you have standard seat heigh or lower, because in video seam like that whole bike is lower. Thanks
I had the seat in the low position in the video
At 5ft 9 I still have short legs. Even after a couple months on the thing I still change the height back and fourth. When it's lowered it really only tips the front of the seat down which results in an uncomfortable situation for me. I can reach the ground a bit better but I'm always sliding forward on the seat. I find it far more comfortable when it's set at the highest seat setting. For what it's worth.
In this case of this model, I would buy a Tracer 900 GT 2020, I loke it a lot, but the new 2021... no thanks. It has lost its character as a sport bike, from my point of view, the new is too similar to a Versys 1000. Too much touring character.
What is it that it lost?
You do know what GT stands for, Grand Tourer, I've just ordered one of the 2021 bikes to tour on.
Anybody know if this bike will continue on to 2021?
2020 is the last year for the tracer 900 GT but Yamaha is making a new version called the Tracer 9 GT
@@handlebarmotorsports680
yes, I found this out about an hour after I post this question.....but thanks for the reply....
Wait.. the quick shifter... I’ve never used one before... so, what does that mean, if I clutch I’d be clutching for nothing? Or it has to be set to that option?
It's an upshift quickshifter. That means that you don't have to pull in the clutch when upshifting. Just push up de shift lever. When down shifting you will have to pull in the clutch :)
The quick shifter is sweet! Once you use it a couple days and get used to WHEN to shift it's great in traffic, or during hard acceleration. Not only no clutch needed but no need to come off the throttle either. Sorta like automatic I guess accept you still have to pull the gears. I love the thing and YES I know It's spoiling me....
No brembos
Brembo brakes.....? You sure?
I just bought this exact bike today! Absolutley love the bike! However! The windshield is highly problematic at freeway speed. It's awful. Whatever you do if you buy one of these AWESOME bikes I want you to know. Either take the the windshield off or replace it. There are honestly no other complaints as I see it. But the windshield is horrible! It's awful. It trys to blow your helmet off and messes with the handling of the bike. Great bike but the windshield design is awful.
Have you found a solution to this? How tall are you?
@@tedvisser6100 5ft 9. Ya 2 things. Got a bigger windshield. 3 or 4 inches taller and about 3 inches wider. Also had a visor on my helmet. Helmet is full face with a face cover and visor. Removed the visor. That played into it. Down the road I'll probably just grab a whole new bucket. But those 2 things make it a lot more comfortable at speeds above say 60. Before that the helmet shook so bad I I was getting headaches after like 15 minutes on the freeway...
@@ChaserTiponi ok thanks. I was thinking about buying a tracer as I like the riding position but am hesitant because of the wind noise issue. I'm 5'6 and am coming from a Honda Shadow with a large windshield
@@tedvisser6100 Well whatever you decide. At 5ft9 with short legs it might not be the same for you? But the very helpful windshield only cost me 180 so not a horrible add on. For me I knew it could be a problem when I bought the bike so I wasn't disappointed when it happened. If you decide on the bike and need a windshield later I'd be more then happy to look up the part number of the part and kick that over to you. Keep in mind there are quite a few options available to solve this minor problem....
@@ChaserTiponi could be. A dealer will let me test drive a used one. Does the windshield you use direct the air right over your head now?
Lol points at the master cylinder made by brembo and says it has brembo brakes 😂😂😂😂
Gow not to ride a 900 GT ruclips.net/video/6FnfWDXZbtI/видео.html
Does yamaha still make those ugly pinker lights 😆😅🤣 really beautyfull bike but c'mon bikes from 2015 or new'er have led's
I agree with you. But it takes only 100$ and 15 minutes to solve this minor annoyance forever.
@@mmodnao yeah it is that easy ! But i feel like, why not from the start when they build
