  • It has been a long time since I have done one of these videos and the reason for this is because my BMW S1000xr had to go. You will see that I am quite bitter about that and that is why I am out riding other bikes like the Yamaha Tracer 900GT.This is not the greatest review edit in the world as I need to get my head back in to doing them properly.I hope you enjoy it none the less

    the 2021 version will have both up and down gearing quickshifter. does the quickshifter work smoothly in low speed traffic? also...how's the grip on standard tires.....is it poised all the way thru the turns? it's such a lovely machine....inside and out.

    Due to windshield... I have 700 gt version, im 185 and had problems with wind buffeting around helmet so much that I allmost gone insane! BUT, I uplifted with rubber washers front end of windsheald cca 2cm. Just added longer 2 screws and tuck under the washers. This changed the angel of the shield and opened / lifted front of the shield and scoop more air under, and this trick helped like 60%!! Now there is no buffeting at all, just wind sound. Hope it helps!

    After a test ride, i find the tracer suspension very harsh too on stock settings. Is like it's setup for racing rather than touring. It had no sag geting it of the center stand. The seat is very uncomfortable too, very hard and leaning forward. But i've tested the base model, i don't know if the Gt is more comfy. Brakes, and engine are a joy.

      The seat is terrible... Its one reason why I am put off by it...

  • @foolishcoyote.

    also....does your center stand scrap the ground on sharp curves?

      I did not get it scraping but this was a demo bike and crashing them is not advised :-\

    Pretty underequiped compared to the BMW to be fair and the max load capacity is rubbish for 2 up touring. What happened to your xr?

    • @BHPBikesuk
      @BHPBikesuk  3 года назад +1

      Ah that is interesting as I have not looked at two up touring capabilities.
      I have not looked at that to compare. It was more how it felt and and its abilities through the corners.
      The xr is gone and I cant talk about it till my lawyer has given me the all clear, but one thing is for sure I will never buy a bmw again.

    Did you just say you don't like adjustable suspension? Even just a convenient preload adjuster for pillion weight? You should change your stance on that. Wow. Do you set your sag? No? Really? I can't believe that.

    • @BHPBikesuk
      @BHPBikesuk  3 года назад

      I have set up amy bikes for sag in the past however, one of the things that annoyed me was having to mess about with the rear preload to get the bike handling right.
      Often my wife would jump on the bike we would whizz off somewhere and then I would find a stretch I want to play on and drop her off... So that would mean getting off a messing about twisting.
      The last 2 bikes I have owned worked all that out for you and worked a treat.
      For most people it would be nothing to worry about but for me it was something that annoyed me.
      If a bike I rode was mainly just me riding and sometimes with luggage that is fine the manual preload would be fine.

      @@BHPBikesuk So you had electronic suspension? Otherwise, no adjuster means you need a spanner and cut knuckles to do the same adjustment ya? Or it could just be out of mind and you'd be riding with a squat bike, or an overly hard rear end. i'd love an electronic system. That would be sick. One day. Anyways, without electronics, i'd take a remote adjuster over the absence of one any day. Happy riding. I may get the same bike, but where I live taxes are nuts so it's a bigger decision. I'll have to pay 18 000 USD. My current Z1000sx is a 2013 model and has none of the bells and whistles...including a remote preload adjuster;(

      @@mwdfinch76 yes my xr and the last explorer all had electronic suspension. My first Kawasaki had c spanner tools to adjust which as you said was a ballache.
      In these videos I just ramble on point out things and some people dont mind but others do mind.
      This video is the first review type video I have done in a couple.of years so i am bit rusty
