Your initial unboxing video on this item was the confirmation of a quality purchase on my end; your enthusiasm for the TX-22 line being evident throughout, whereas this will be my collections' first .22LR firearm. Waited for your initial range review, and am stoked to get mine out to the range after watching! Great approach, with the variety of ammo and your results from them. You do good work. Would love a TX22 compact size but in 9mm. Yes, Taurus makes the GX4 series, but I would love this size in a 9mm. Not to skinny, not too bulky. Perfect size!
Hey man, I think you have a great channel and I hope it gets more popular. Really like the calm, casual and informative review style without any loud and fast, attention-grabbing RUclips tropes everyone seems to do. Subscribed!
Had the same experience with some of the Norma ammo. Think it depends on the type. My standard TX22 is one of my favorites. Even bought the competition conversion kit and have a red dot on it. Shoots everything great. This looks to be the same so guess I’ll be adding it to the collection. Thanks!
Norma is really bad lol but they gotta get it together. I got a box of em for free from my FFL when I bought my TX22 compact. He thought it was funny because he knew they were bad. Great vid!
I know the feeling about the Norma 22lr ammo. I love my Taurus TX22 standard pistol and it is accurate, reliable and eats everything I feed it. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 😊.
I’ve had problems with Federal Punch in a few different 22s. It seems that the case is just a tiny bit too long to be reliable. Misfeeds are the biggest issue I’ve found. Ran in Keltec P17 Walther P22Q-MIL Taurus TX22 Compact
Good review it was interesting to see you shoot the “defensive” rounds. Never tried the Punch load. Picked up a couple boxes of the Silvertip shortly after it’s release. Found it to be erratic in feel. (I was shooting it in a LCP-22, it was light enough to feel the difference in recoil) Some rounds had much less recoil and noise. If I wanted a “defensive 22LR round it would probably be the good old Stinger.
Very good results. I have Tandemkross sights on one of my TX22. They are actually peep sights. They actually work pretty good. I am checking my gun store daily for the compact to come in. I probably will put the Swampfox Sentinel on the compact. It is affordable and I have been running one on my Hellcat for right at 2 years zero issues. It is extremely rare to have an issue with 40 gr CCI Mini-Mag. I would not feel unarmed at all with my TX22's loaded with that. You can just drain a mag into the kill zone. That is one advantage of 22LR. Likely an outstanding choice for defense for women.
Where you getting any unburnt powder blowback? I noticed on My regular size TX 22 that it happened with the hotter ammo, Stingers, particularly. And I won't buy that Norma stuff B/C of that oily coating.
Thanks for the review! So here’s the question since you’ve had time with all 3… if you could only have one, (assuming you wouldn’t carry any), does one stand out to being better/more fun? I’m basically leaning towards the competition (mainly because it’s different), but I think the compact also looks pretty cool. So I’m just wondering if there’s truly any large difference between the 3 other than esthetics….
Only problem with this gun is that, when you do slap a red dot micro on, you lose the use of those irons. Still, I'm about to put on a Riton Tactix MPRD. Hopefully, it will grow on me.
There are studies out there that will blow you away.. 2 different ones I've looked at show 1 shot stops.. not necessarily kills but stops.. the 380 ranks up with the 357 magnum.. ahead of the 9mm.. I have my own thoughts as to why.. but anyway.. the lowly 22lr does quite well also.. I may have to pick this up just to add to my 22 pistols..
I finally jumped in and got a 22. I found the tx22 competition with a red dot and stuff for a good price. Waiting to pick it up but i think ill enjoy it. Also anyone interested in a shield plus performance center ported barrel with the red dot, has about 400 rounds on it. I have parts I'd like to buy.
I love shooting 22LR. 22 kills more people then any other round. However I agree that it I only takes one bad round at the wrong time to put you in danger. Reliability is the most important feature!
All guns need be cleaned before take to the ranch. They come with a lot of oil and dirty because in factory they shoot couples of round to tested. Once i received my guns i clean it.
I am very accurate with .22LR (or .25 auto). I can shoot a 1 ft group at 25 yds with it, can't with 9mm or .45. They could make a pistol with all the strengths of this one, but with a 100% reliable cartridge, if they made it in .25 auto.

Appreciate the kind words and the sub!

I think the GX4 Carry (according to Handgun Hero) is the closest in size comparison to the TX22 Compact.
My favorite 22 pistol and officially retired my browning buckmark! Great video and thanks for showing different kinds of ammo.

I appreciate that, thank you!

Thanks. Looking forward to the thousand round update.
Nice review I just picked up the Riton model - Looking forward to getting it on the range and firing off a few

Nothing wrong with Stingers! I like the Punch so far.
i use the federal punch for my taurus tx22. i seen quite a bit ballistic test with the federal punch. federal punch is a nasty little round
@@TheDevicemanager I always keep a few boxes laying around
Have you done the follow up review on this? I haven’t noticed it but could have missed it.
No, I started slacking at the beginning of the year and am just now getting around to some follow up reviews.
"Like someone rolled it around in 🐤💩!" I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!🤣🤣🤣. Good review too

I was ready for you to say the ammo was rolled around in anything other than duck shit!! 😂🤣 I spit my drink out laughing 🤣😂.
First thing that came to mind lol
@@untacticaltexan it was hilarious. 🤣😂
I have heard a lot of good about the TX22. Nice rock solid review man.
Thanks! They have been awesome for me so far

I didn't experience that on this, but I have a few times on the full size.

That's tough. I have grown to really like the Competition model. Little heavier and bull barrel is nice. Appreciate the view!
idk that nomausa tac22 ammo is greased or something doesn't like the sport 22 and not sure about the tx22 yet.

Doesn't bother me too much on this, however a carry gun I'd hesitate on. Some of the optics have rear sight channel built in, might be an option too.
Which ammo had least recoil ? You notice any ?
@@BlazinFin I didn't really notice a difference
I’m definitely getting this
Thanks for the review.👍

I bet you will. I think the Competition is my favorite of the 3 models

If it's dirty enough to cause malfunctions after a couple of test rounds, I don't want it.
I was about to mention federal punch for self defense then you mentioned it
Great review 🇺🇲
Appreciate the watch!
Shot mine today, 300 rounds thru it. No issues
Nice. I am working on a long-term review over the next few weeks.

I wish someone would make a double stack 25ACP. Just for fun.
anyone else think Taurus TX22 Compact looks alot like Walter PPQ version?
I didn't think about that, but I think it's close enough to the original TX-22 model, which I own, so I guess it didn't cross my mind.
Yea Norma is super hit or miss for me on .308 and .556. my bren would not run the Norma but every other shot
Had the same experience with 9mm
