xneomorph vs the bugs
In an all out war, the Bugs would win in the long run. They reproduce a lot faster than Xenomorphs because they don't have the face-hugger stage, and the brain bug, their leader, is a lot smarter than a xenomorph queen. Brain bugs are way more organized. In a one on one fight, it depends on the match-up. the small, beetle-like ones seen carrying the brain bug? easy killing for a xenomorph. an Arachnid and a Xenomorph would probably be pretty evenly matched, and if the Xenomorph loses, it's acid blood would take down the Arachnid anyway, so it'd almost always be a tie. Against the flying, preying mantis/dragonfly-likey bugs, a Xenomorph would basically always lose since things that fly have a tactical advantage. Though against the large beetles which spew flaming acid or shoot plasma from their horns, Xenomorph would always lose. Those tankers are too big and use ranged attacks. Xenomorph vs. Brain bug? Xenomorph wins, that fleshly thing that can't even by itself wouldn't stand a chance.
The only two ways for the Xenomorphs to win would be to get a face-hugger to implant a chest burster into one of the warrior classes (Arachnid, Tankers, flying bugs) or to get a one into a Brain Bug, thereby assimilating the bugs with a new hybrid xenomorph species that would be superior to both the regular Xenomorphs and the bugs (in the brain bug hybrid scenario, it'd also be possible that the hybrid would be smart enough to overthrow the previous queen alien by organizing a coup, having one of the hybrids under it's command steal an egg with a queen face-hugger, and then find and locate another brain bug and impregnate it with that, to create a queen brain bug hybrid and start a new xeno colony). The other way would be for the xenos to find and eliminate every last brain bug, disrupting the bygs chain of command, which without, they're only real strategy is to rush and kill, where as even without the queen giving commands, regular xenos have been shown to be smart enough to at least think on their own.
i figure the whole mental control thing would or might affect the xenomorphs to go against each other since they have that hive mind thing going for them aswell
@Beans: not really. while the Xenos do have a hive, they don't have a hive mind. they can make decisions with or without the queen, and can even overthrow the queen in favor of a new one if they believe it will better benefit the hive as a whole. the Arachnids are entirely reliant on the brain bug's orders, as without them, they have been shown to attack each other. Xenos won't attack members of the same hive except during a coup between two factions within the same hive. that has a purpose. the Arachnids seem to just go at each other's throats without the brain bug keeping order.
Actually David, it's been shown in the comics that a Xenomorph Hive goes to shit if the Queen is killed. They start turning on one another, run aimlessly and don't know really what to do until a new Queen appears, most probably from one of the Queen's Pretorian Guard.
@JonZillaGaming: That is true is for large Hives that rely on the queen for directions. As also shown in the comics, if your going to include them despite them being partially non-canon (like the Star Wars extended Universe is), small groups without queens can work together just fine. It's also shown that the inner chaos caused by losing a queen, is not from confusion, but rather from drones picking sides on which royal guard they want to become the next queen as the royal guards try to over throw each other.
It's different for the Arachnids, since Brain Bugs exclusively control the order of the species, and will even have the warrior bugs kill a queen if she's in danger of being captured.
Xenos are more like real world ants in the fact that even if the queen dies, the colony will be fine in the long run since there are plenty of juvinille queens (irl they leave the colony during the mating seasons to make new colonies, but for Xenos they just stick around as Royal Guards until the Queen dies and one of them becomes the net queen) to take her place. Arachnids only use the queen as a tool to increase their numbers, and the real leaders are the Brain Bugs (or the God Bug(s), since they it seems to be a massive brain bug connected to all the brain bugs like one huge internet server).
The Xenos would recover from losing their queen much faster than the Arachnids losing their Brain Bugs, since the Queen would have to birth a new Brain bug and wait for it to mature to an age where it can start giving commands.
Quite frankly I find the idea of a bug that can think offensive!

You just DO NOT remake Verhoeven - have you not seen the RoboCop and Total Recall remake - your request shows you've completely lack respect of the qualitirs that Verhoeven brought to the movies in question. Unless Verhoeven revisits these titles, then forget it! Until then, you can make do with the shoddy sequels and remakes made by directors just-don't-get what makes Verhoevens movies what they are...

That bit in ST: Marauders about the brain bug's telepathy got pulled out of the writer's lazy ass. If it was telapathic, it wouldn't have needed to suck brains in the first place - and more, if its defense mechanism, the high pitched scream, was able to kill so many soldiers at once, Sgt. (or Private) Zim's team couldn't have captured it so easily.
i actually heard rumors about a reboot of the star-ship troopers movie series that will be more heavily similer to the books, if this is true the date to when filming will start is still a mystery
I would like to see another Starship troopers movie that is a nice balance between the first movie an the book. Some real effort and money put into it. Not sure what kind of plot or characters would be in it but itd still be nice to get another good Starship Troopers movie and keep the franchise alive.

I have often wondered how the bugs were able to send a metro across the galaxy (Thousands of light years based on the diagram at the beginning of the movie) and how did they aim at Earth? Using plasma from the planet to hit a metier at the right angel would be worse than the most difficult pool shot.
The meteor was just a ruse by the military as an excuse to invade. They literally have space defences to prevent such thing yet this one city-killer meteor weren't detected
I would love to see a new "Starship Troopers" come out ONLY IF Hollywood promises not to butcher the concepts and themes in order to make it awkwardly serious and far less violent. Though I'm sure they will (they've made these false promises before), and it'll make just enough at the box for us to be tortured with at least 6 more installations, each straying further from the original premise (cough cough PROMETHEUS cough uuuggghhh).

I would like to see another movie if it could be as stylish as the first. The first could have been a bad B type sci fi movie if not for brilliant directing. Paul Verhoeven is the same guy who brought us RoboCop. It's all about the director.

Actually, this movie is a satire: the war between humans and bugs is just an analogy of the war between USA and its enemies, the militarization of the American society, the narcissistic prejudice of the USA's government against what's perceived as bad just because it's different (e.g. bugs / eastern cultures), the resulting militarization and belligerence of USA's foreign affairs et cetera. This movie is pretty much a critique to USA. It's also a critique to fascist regimes: this is the reason why e.g. the youngsters in this movie only become citizens when they join the armed forces, such youngsters also repeat slogans and propaganda blaming the enemy for everything bad that happens, the government is centralized and sends its youth to certain death (in this sense, *she troopers are bugs,* too) etc.

I absolutely LOVED *Starship Troopers*. Extremely well made movie with lots of great things happening in it and was a terrific 90's movie. Would love to see another instalment of this movie **IF** done right. Although several posts have already noted this, I also thought the mouth area (or whatever it was) of the brain bug had a "plump vagina" appearance to it.
Different version of Brain bug story from Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy - Colonel Holland who tried to interrogate Brain bug got influenced and started leaking info on CLASSIFIED projects and terran bases to bugs... eventually got killed by Internal Security officer with MI team that was sent to arrest Holland.
I think you make a mistake when it comes to who wants what. The humans invaded the territory of the bugs first, probably delibratly as a ploy to start the war so that they can wipe out the bugs. In the beginning of the movie you see a journalist explain how it started ;)

Starship Troopers 3 was the last one that I sorta liked. No I don't want another movie as I think they have lost the plot as far as quality...I mean Starship Troopers Invasion accomplished nothing with no real plot and enough plot holes to sink a battleship. It's basically become Call of Duty at this point.

Wheel bugs are similar,they stab their victims with a rostrum and suck out their insides. My current male had his rostrum bit off by a grasshopper he was trying to subdue. He's probably not going to survive much longer.

Well if you ask me the UCF during the CG movie Traders on Mars the Federation became so obsessive their fight with the bugs they end up becoming the enemy and will destroy their own colonies that don't agree or refuse to fight in their battle.
I love sci fi and Aliens but an alien who isnt like the xenomorph but very skilled is hard to be nice!

If you read the original Heinlein, he describes the armored articulated encounter suits that each and every trooper wears. A remake is definitely justified as Verhoeven could not get the budget to have either articulated costumes or CGI done to do justice to Heinlein's vision.
Marauders are close to the described armor, but too large. The suits were of the size of modern military lifting exoskeletons, like exaggerated spacesuits. Troopers would wear them. Marauders are more like piloted mechs (i.e. Mechwarrior, et al.)
Command level suits had additional capabilities, particularly in communications, and were physically different.
Where Verhoeven was true to Heinlein's material was especially in the area of the politics and philosophy, but it was also the feature that made the film feel preachy and off-putting. Although a capitalistic society, the government was totalitarian and a military oligarchy (Do You Want to Know More?). Heinlein was trying to show that the military-industrial complexes (which refers to a psychological state rather than a complex of infrastructure) like the USA have many parallels to certain mid-1940s warmongering nations. Heinlein was torn, though, as he philosophically was a proponent of the citizen-soldier (service equals citizenship) and of no-desk-jobs-during-war ... everyone wearing a uniform fights, no matter your main MO.

This movie was really good. It would be really awesome if they made another movie where human infantries has gears or an exo-skeletal armors. And also they should build heavy weapon tanks, robot machines similar to arachnids. Futuristic movies like this should have more advance machinery that humans can use against alien creatures instead of sending out human with no other protection but weapons. I get it with all the advance weapons but dont they should have a defense machinery as well. Like STARCRAFT. But thats just my opinion.
