I think it's better that these things grip the ground a little. Naked plastic as your first point of contact on the ground could mean that the wrist guard shoots away you end up hitting your face, head, or injuring a shoulder because of the unpredictable nature of slippery plastic and the ground coming together.
Great review dude! I just got a pair. I ended up getting the medium, because my hand is 7 1/2 inches around and the medium is for 7 1/2 to 8 1/2. Honestly it feels a little snug, but I’ll give them a shot.
Thank you soooooooo much for this video!! I am always falling. I am a beginner skater and I keep hurting my wrists and end up with a wrap for a week or so. I must get these!!
I cut out a piece of string, wrapped it around my hand, and then used a ruler to measure that. Oak City's website has a fitting chart so that you can see what measurements go with which sizes. I kept measuring my hand somewhere between 8.5 " and 9". Unfortunately, the large I got is a bit too big for me. I'm still okay with that because I prefer too big over too small.
These look really comfortable, but I’m concerned about the grippy surface over the palm. If you look at motorcycle gloves, everyone talks about how important it is to slide. You want your hand to hit and slide to immediately get the load of impact off of your wrist.
I agree as well. These are great if you’re skating or rollerblading and only need to protect from a quick, hard fall. Would not recommend for someone who will be going fast
This was a really good review, very thorough. I appreciate you making it!
He has an engineer profile pic, definitely a man of efficient taste
When I first got these, I shoe gooed an extra layer of leather to the palm, if it wears through, then I replace the outer outer leather

Good vid m8
good luck ever finding a pair of these for sale.
Yeah, it's pretty frustrating that Ennui doesn't sell it directly on their website. I saw a few for sale on durbywarehouse, thuroshop, and locoskates.
