Silverchair is the MOST underrated band from the 90's. I miss them something fierce. What I would give to go back!!! Thank you for posting this show 🤟🤟
Good lord. 1997. I was 17 years old and hadn't fucked everything up yet. All my friends and family were still alive. The 80s and 90s were the greatest fucking time in history. I feel lucky to have had an 80s childhood and a teenage 90s. Miss those days for sure. Not school though. Fuck school. 😂
Man, in 1997 I was with 9 years old, turning 10 in October and I'm so nostalgic about 90's. I loved that decade. I did so many things specially in the 2nd half of 90's, and Smashing Pumpkins is now one of my favourite bands ever.
I was in mourning for Nirvana so didn't listen to Silver Chair...my loss as they were an excellent band. I mean, really, excellent. Started listening to their live performances this year...again it was my loss I didn't listen at the time. 😪😃
Wow, Mike's energy that he unleashed. Must've been something to feel and see in person. I had a 2 year old so my concert going days were long gone by then. I did finally get tickets to see FNM and even bought my son one but Covid wrecked that dream and I doubt if they're ever coming to Phoenix now. I've been wanting to see them since 1989. Maybe a miracle will happen, ya never know.
i wish i could go back. it looks like chiller times. imagine a world where Silverchair, Smashing Pumpkins and faith no more are the mainstream instead of kanye west and young dolph and whatever those other crappers names are
People would also just enjoy watching a performance and being in the moment, instead of holding up their phones to record something shit quality to prove to people they were there.
Silverchair. Australia’s Nirvana! I really like the lead singers voice! He could sing! They rocked back then. SP was good too! With James and Darcy. 👏🏻🎸😎
not sure why people compare silverchair to nirvana. The only things they had in common was the blonde hair, 3 piece band and they played in the same era.
@@dynjarren8355 Silverchair and Nirvana are nothing alike other than Daniel happening to be Blonde. They sound more like Pearl Jam and Helmet if anything, nirvana is soft in comparison
@@jockojockoson9995 yes, this was right after Jimmy was fired because of his heroin addiction and right after Jonathan Melvion died of a overdose in NYC (Mellon collie tour)
Imagine if they brought him back as a trial during the Adore tour, when they had Kenny and another drummer. Jimmy and Kenny playing alongside each other would have been great.
This is one of those clips which prove that Silverchair and Daniel Johns had everything going for them. He even wrote an album that was full of hard and heavy, rocking grooves and decided to throw it away, it would’ve been a stone cold, classic no doubt. Such a shame.
@@zerosoma33 I was a teenager in the early '90s and was heavily into Faith No More, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and all the rest. Hi, it is called Pure massacre from their album Frogstomp, I've never been that into them myself, but there are certains songs on albums that I really like, Diaroma is one I'm drawn to, i'm not sure it was a fan favourite or not, but it is when they got a bit older and moved away from the Grunge influence a bit, the songs with orchestration i think are really good, it is important to remember that on that album, even though they were well into their careers they were still only about 21, which is mind blowing really, Across the night, Greatest view and The lever are interesting pieces of music in my opinion and they had gotten their own sound by this point I believe, it also interests me that they always seemed to try and be as melodic as possible on some songs and as heavy as possible on others.
It's called "Beer Massacre" and it's on their first album. Great song. I love the bit where he sings "Chickens pumping, hearts dumping". There aren't enough grunge songs about chickens
