Good lord. 1997. I was 17 years old and hadn't fucked everything up yet. All my friends and family were still alive. The 80s and 90s were the greatest fucking time in history. I feel lucky to have had an 80s childhood and a teenage 90s. Miss those days for sure. Not school though. Fuck school. 😂

Hi, it is called Pure massacre from their album Frogstomp, I've never been that into them myself, but there are certains songs on albums that I really like, Diaroma is one I'm drawn to, i'm not sure it was a fan favourite or not, but it is when they got a bit older and moved away from the Grunge influence a bit, the songs with orchestration i think are really good, it is important to remember that on that album, even though they were well into their careers they were still only about 21, which is mind blowing really, Across the night, Greatest view and The lever are interesting pieces of music in my opinion and they had gotten their own sound by this point I believe, it also interests me that they always seemed to try and be as melodic as possible on some songs and as heavy as possible on others.

It's called "Beer Massacre" and it's on their first album. Great song. I love the bit where he sings "Chickens pumping, hearts dumping". There aren't enough grunge songs about chickens

@@jeffwood3764 yeah I know what you mean, quite a contrast to what grunge was trying to do, having said that everyone wearing plaid with Kurt Cobain hair was also contrived as time went on, same with anything that makes money, at least pumpkins were doing their own thing even tho they seemed a bit arty farty

Yes but "contrived" might be their angle at this point... when they first came out of Chicago it was like holy sh*t NOBODY shreds alt rock like this

@@zzzz-sf5lr I seeeeee. I can appreciate some filter but Jimmy Chamberlin is next level and in my opinion solidified the smashing pumpkins sound.
