To the dominicans 😂🤣💀. I’m Dominican and used to be a hair dresser. I don’t remember last time I went to the hair dresser maybe 25 years ago and everytime they ruin my hair 😂only time my hair is beautiful is when I don’t let anybody touch it. I think it has to do with energy

Girl I'm black from Barbados and anytime I let anyone black put relaxer or heat in my hair they damage it. ( except my momma with the hot comb. Lol!)I go to a white salon and my stylist is Polynesian, gay, male with curly hair. I have black braiders and apart from some being too tight ( which I immediately take down and redo myself), the damage is minimal to none. I had some Puerto Ricans do my hair and it was great. Neve been to Dominicans though. I've had African and Caribbean braiders. I've had male stylists and barbers who made me look sharp!

I wear my natural hair....however, I don't use styling products. I don't do tight styles. I shampoo and deep condition with heat weekly. I apply leave-in conditioner mist daily. In the summer I wear my loose afro most of the time. No tight puffs or buns. My main styles are loose afro, flat twists, finger coils, twists and 2 or 3 loose French braids. As long as I do this my hair doesn't have an opportunity to tangle. applying silicone, oil, butter or grease to the ends only stops tangling for me too.

I wish I could be a straight hair natural but the way my hair is set up, I'd definitely get straight pieces. I also live somewhere with high humidity...it will 100% revert within a few days. The way my mind is set up..I will be chopping off the straight pieces in the bathroom. Lol! I had heat damage for a year and kept cutting at the salon and in the bathroom....I just didn't like it permanently straight...and it wasn't all over either it was in random places sticking out straight. I like my afro more than my straight hair.
I didn't care that it was short because I cut it off in the bathroom I just wanted the straight pieces gone...which defeats the purpose of healthy long hair. Lol! Because I butchered it in the bathroom it didn't look healthy...my poor stylist always has to fix my DIY bathroom/rage cuts. Lol! I was never happy with my flat relaxed hair either. Lol! I learn more towards all curly styles...even my wigs, extensions and hair pieces are wavy or curly. I'm not a buss down straight middle part girl at all. 🙈🙈🙈
I had a bald taper sides Fro-hawk last year with bleach honey blond bayalage highlights. It was probably the most fun and freedom I've ever had with my hair. Detangling was cut in half!! do you boo. I have friends and family who have straight hair relaxed or straight natural and it work for them and I advise everyone to do things that do not cause them stress. Lol! If natural hair is/was stressing you out do not do it!! My sister got locs. Less detangling and styling for sure!

I wear my hair in mini twists, yet I still experience breakage when I take them out to wash my hair 😕 I’ve started wearing my hair stretched with the Revair. I’m hoping that will help me retain length and stop the breakage.

I also tried mini twist. I was experiencing the same with fairy knots so i decided it was best to stretch my hair. Thanks for the support 🫶🏾

Have you tried pumpkin seed oil? It seems to make my hair stronger.

You should try doing a hot oil treatment and letting it sit for a few hours before taking out your mini twists. It helped me TREMENDOUSLY with detangling and minimizing breakage.

@Miss_SJay I’ll definitely try that out when wearing my natural hair 🫶🏾

Your hair doesn't look dense it looks very fine maybe it has oil in it.

Both could be true at the same time. Not saying that’s what it is, but you can have fine, dense hair.
