I’m in uk. The recipe in my booklet calls for 170g rice and 600ml water. I thought it seemed like a lot of water but went with it anyway. The end product was beautiful chicken-no complaints there. Carrots were a bit burned on the edges, but just about edible. The rice, well, tasted ok but looked like rice pudding! And barely enough for 3 people, never mind 6-8! The recipe should of said 340g rice. Wish I’d looked at your video first. 😐
Thanks for sharing... and thank you for watching!!!
you probably dont care but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost the password. I love any help you can give me!
@Miles Fox Instablaster ;)
@Kashton Nathanael Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Kashton Nathanael it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account !
Wow! Another outstanding recipe! You are one of my favorites! You show everything and how to do it! Thank you John!
Thank you Ellen and thanks for watching my videos!!! Glad to hear you enjoy them!!!
I’ve been watching your videos for a solid 30 minutes and I’m hooked! Getting my ninja foodi on pay day(well my husband’s pay day)! Thanks for help me choose which version.
Thank you and I honestly believe you are spending his money wisely...thanks for watching!!!
I love your sign about Father God. God is really good as is his precious son Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God.
Baby doll has since reclaimed that one fire upstairs but I am looking for something similar to go back there... thanks for watching!!!
Looks delicious, cannot wait to try this recipe. Ninja Foodie Deluxe better looking each time. Thank you for sharing.
I think you will like it.. it was really good!!! Thanks for watching Linda!!!
Looks Delicious!!!!!
Your videos are great and your kitchen looks awesome, Agent Jelly007.
Thanks Mr González and thank you for watching!!
What a nifty recipe from a most engaging home chef! Thank you!! Might have to get me that special rack for my OG Ninja Foodi 8!
I'm pretty sure it would work...thank you for your comments and thanks for watching!!!
Another great video 👍🏼. Love the one meal in a pot...perfect 😀
Thank you and yes it's a easy and excellent meal all done in one pot... thank you for watching!!!
I bought an Instapot then hubby saw the ninjafoodi so i bought a 6.5qt love it..was going to gift my mom the instapot but keeping it and getting her a ninjafoodi on black friday. keeping them both and will use them lovingly..Love the airfry feature on my Ninja..now must find a Keto Ninja cookbook and a double rack..
It is a very impressive device...and your mom will be happy too...thanks for watching!!!
Great Video...Keep em coming
Thank you Brad... working on one now!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Wow! John you’re on point with the new Ninja Foodi Deluxe. Keep those videos coming. This looks delicious. I’m waiting for this machine to release on the 9th. Can’t wait to purchase and try some meals. Enjoyed the video and step by step details. Now we just need smell a vision 😏
But until then just imagine the best smelling dinner you have smelled in a while...LOL!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Can’t wait to try this recipe! Just bought my unit last week!
Wow!!! Ok Sold!! Looks awesome!!
It is a neat device!! Thanks for watching!!
this looks outstanding! I think I will scale it down and try in my 6.5 qt regular Ninja Foodi!
I can't see why that wouldn't work... it was a lot of food!!! And it was outstanding!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Yours looks better than their picture. I’m sure nobody with an older Foodi would dare order one of those double layer racks from the parts store. I’ve never done dehydrating. But they have a really nice looking rack for that in the parts department too.
Thank you... if theirs was as good and perfectly cooked as the one I did I bet the camera crew destroyed it...LOL!!! and I do think the older 8 quart would accept some of these racks they have released with the deluxe!!! Thank you for watching!!!
John, another great video! Just an fyi, I just made old fashioned chocolate/peanut butter fudge in the ninja on saute feature! And it is perfect! I will never make it on the stove again. If you ever had good homemade old fashioned fudge you know when it right and when, its wrong. Just perfect. I want a counter of 4 or 5 ninja foodies and no other kitchen appliances lol
Haha I've almost got that many now!! And the fudge sounds awesome...I used to have a buddy that made peanut butter fudge and brought it to work.. it always got devoured.. thanks for watching!!!
Great explanation of what to do👍. I want to buy the instant pot duo crisp because of the lower leaving temperature that you measured and the stainless steel pot. But that rack really looks really versatile. Also the finished meal looked really delicious. Thanks for the pleasant discussion.
Thank you, and I think you can purchase that rack from ninja...thanks for watching!
I'm gonna call you the Ninja Foodi guy, you are on it John.🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Mike...I am honored!! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the Video. It looks good. I wonder if you could make that honey sauce for sweet potatoes too. And I also love the Bible verse on the wall. I also agree that fat is good for you. I will say that for a person who is a diabetic, what the ninja people don't seem to understand, is that carrots, while a vegetable it is, is also high in carbs (which is sugar later when it breaks down). Rice is also a high carb food. So, I would rate their meal idea as not good for a lot of people. But I think you demonstrated well what the Ninja can do, cooking everything at once... That is nice!
Thank you very much... I'm sure there sauce would work in many variations... and thank you for watching!!!
Good looking one pot meal!
Yes it is... thanks for watching Larry!!!
Wow....I bought my Ninja Foodi 8 qt almost two months ago. Not going to buy the new one. I'll just order the double decker rack. Your Crispy Chicken Thighs dinner looks yummy! I'll try that when I can order the double decker racks.
That's a good idea...I've measured the liner pots and they appear to be the same... thanks for watching T mac!!!
😂😂😂 Okay John! That’s it. I can’t take it anymore.
**Orders new Ninja Foodi Deluxe**
Now what to tell my husband lol?!🤔😩
Haha... that beauty got you didn't it!! And you are correct...I love the way it looks, maybe he won't notice!!! lol... thank toy for watching Carlotta and did I get that pronunciation right???
John Sanders Lol I’ll just slide it on in on the counter. It’s pronounced like a “car lot” with an A on the end lol. Like automobile car lot 😉
The counter trick will probably work!!!...I almost went with that pronunciation... sorry but thanks again!!!
John Sanders no apologies needed. Appreciate the mention! 🙂 & I cant wait for you to get the grill and upload some videos lol. Mine came today, made burgers and they were excellent.
Haha I love the beginning.
That's good to hear and thanks for watching!!!
You are the best. Thank you for your unbiased review. Stay blessed and highly favored. ☺
Thank you very much and thanks for watching!!!
John that looks delicious 🤗
Thanks Connie...it was really good...thanks for watching!
Try ribeye please next time.
I just did this last Friday much too my husbands outcries of how I would ruin a perfect piece of meat. He no longer a ninja foodi hater. He is just lovin’ on the fact that, the purchase of our new family member was well worth it!
That is really good to hear!!! And you are in luck... my personal favorite recipe of all time is my ribeye over smashed Yukon potatoes... it will have him singing and dancing in the kitchen...lol... I linked it below and can't wait to hear what he thinks!!!

Boy, just when I thought the 6.5 quart Foodi was the greatest appliance ever.... This deluxe one looks even better!!
Amen sister...I know what you mean!!!
So dang excited 🥳. I can't get the new one but still excited!
Me too...I love it so far!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Great video! thank you very much.
I would like to see how the rice came out too.
We just got the previous Ninja Foodi from Costco last week and We love it.
Thanks... glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching...I have a new video on rice that works really well... here is a link to it.

Hi John! I've been watching and enjoying your videos nonstop ever since I got my own Foodi a few weeks ago. Would you consider creating a video on making beef jerky using the dehydrator function on the Foodi? I'd be very interested! Thanks!
I have considered it and I may try to get to that soon... thank you very much for watching my videos... glad toy enjoy them!!!
Can you make this a series? Making everything from the ninja foodi delux 8 book♡
Not a bad idea...I've done quite a few but there are many I have not done...thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders and thank you for the wonderful content♡
Thank you for your video! Watched twice And I am going to do this dinner today!
Glad you enjoyed the video and please let us know how it turns out...thanks for watching!
I did this yesterday. It’s very delicious! I just replaced rice pilaf with Texmati rice, brown and it worked well. Thank you again for your video!
@@nadiapotebnya8464 thank you for trying the recipe and sharing your results...glad you enjoyed it!!!
I love your videos and so glad to see your wife! Where did you buy your Ninja Foodi Deluxe? Thanks again for your awesome videos!
Thank you..I bought it on their website... thanks for watching!!!
I decided on not getting the deluxe because it was nearly $100 more and contained the same rack and things that the deluxe did for the regular 8-quart. Does this make any sense? I think I wrote it backwards but I went ahead and ordered the standard 8th 8-quart XL and the only difference I could see was a double stack rack which the regular 8-quart XL contained the same as the deluxe and the deluxe was $100 more every place I looked. It has shipped and will be here soon I can't wait to get my hands on it! I am known for my cooking and now I'll be able to do nearly all of it in one Implement that I don't have to stand that intend like I would at the stove. I simply can't stand at the stove anymore but I can put the Ninja on a small table and cook right there for my electric wheelchair! Woot woot! :-) I just couldn't see paying $100 more for no extra benefits that I could find. the deluxe has stainless steel on it and that's really the only difference I could see so I got the 8-quart XL in gray and black.
They are both excellent machines and I love the fact of it being portable too...Your gonna love it!!! Thanks for watching!
Hey John, thanks for your vids and recipes. Question for you... In your opinion any clear advantages of getting the new ninja deluxe if you already own the original 8qt one? From my point of view, I can't see the cost justification. Your thoughts?
Not really... it has yogurt function if that matters and some nice controls but there is no other major advantages other that deluxe rack... hope this helps abs feel free to ask any other questions you might have... thank you for watching!!!
How did the chicken on the bottom rack turn out?
Keep up the videos! How do you like the nuwave cook top? I have a gas 5 burner, but I like the idea of being able to move it around and even take it out to the grill.
I used to use gas stove tops... until I tried induction... you do have to have metal or magnetic cookware and I had some but now that's all I will purchase...I really like it.. enough I recently remodeled my man cave kitchen and decided on no cooktop because of those... buy the 1800 watt and keep a gas burner (fish cooker) outside for serious stiff and you will be pleased... thanks for watching!!!
i love my foodi deluxe and I'm glad I waited to get it, over the others. i was going to try this recipe but didn't realize it wanted boxed rice, can you make regular rice with it or does it have to be parboiled stuff?
I'm trying to bake and then brown vegetables. If you put in a stack, of, say, 5 inches thick, and put it on the air fry crisper, will it brown all of them, or just the ones on the top layer. (I heard you explain how the unit pushes hot air through the bottom center, being different than a broiler, which would only get the top layer) But another video says to make sure that you keep the veggies in a single layer, so I'm confused.
I think 5 inches thick if in a single layer might be a little thick...however I would turn or at least shake the food around during both steps...hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Hey john have you been able to find/order the accessories. That are advertised box yet? It tells me model not found
No... and I got the same message... hopefully they'll be there soon.
Hi John, I loved your Ninja Foodi Deluxe chicken thigh video. I want to ask you where you got that measuring pitcher it seems really handy. I tried Amazon but did not find it. When you get a chance will you please reply. Thank you!
They are OXO and I think it was target...thanks for watching!
Can you post a link for your induction cooker. Great vids I've had to join a gym lol.
Thanks L L ...I don't have a specific link but Nuwave has a website...not sure it is the cheapest way to purchase one though...I'm gonna need a membership too...lol..thanks for watching!
hi there! i just bought this pressure cooker lately, but it seems has some issue on the screen(the part shows the temperature and the time), when i use the air fryer to cook food(like tator tots or chicken ) , the screen will have some water vapor, is inside of the screen, but if just using the pressure cooker, the screen is fine, does your ninja is the same ? i have changed it for one times, but they all have the same issue, i really like this pressure cooker, but just worry the water vapor will broken the screen some day in the future, so i am thinking i should return it or keep it?
It should not have any water in it...I haven't heard of this before but just wondering what are you using to clean the screen... or the main unit?
@@JohnSanders i only use it about few times, so is new and clean whatever outside or inside , if i cook french fires, the screen is fine, but if cook tator tots, or i use the pressure cooker to cook the chicken first, then use the air fryer( there was no water inside of the pot only chicken), the screen will have some water vapor on it, and i have the same issue in different machines, so i do not know that is the common issue?or just the one i have has the same issue, so frustrating!
It honestly sounds like some water must have got inside the main unit somehow... meaning the box got wet in shipment or somehow water ended up under the liner pot which maybe turned to steam and got in the control panel... either way I would return it... just my opinion...
Have a 6.5 original model love it. Bought a deluxe 8 quart had to return it made terrible noise when using the airfry got the new one and it has a noise also. Anybody else experience this
I haven't...I mean my deluxe makes Noise but no worse than any of my other air fryers including the 6.5...thanks for watching!
Wife wanted me to look up some videos how good this works, thanks man. Now I want it too. Question, can this dry food too, like for jerky?
I'm not home and can't look at it right now but I don't remember a jerky function on it...thanks for watching and I'll try to remember to double check and make sure.
T.J. Yes it can. It has a dehydrator function.
Wow this is so much more work than just throwing two baking sheets in the oven for 40 min.
I agree! 40 min in the oven vs 5 min in the pressure cooker! Why would anyone want to spend less time cooking? Idiots! I enjoy wasting an additional 35mins everyday of my life cooking! My time is worthless and i enjoy spending the limited time i have on earth before I die needlessly cooking more slowly!
Having just done it, I ASSURE you that the result is much much better than what I get out of my oven.
Cooking is work for a great low cost dinner looks great
I was wondering if you have used the slow cook option? Do they have recipes in the book for that?
I have not used and do not remember seeing any recipes in the book for it but I'm sure any slow cooker recipe would work...thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders thank you
Which unit do you prefer? This or the duo crisp instant pot?
a little early to tell and they are very similar but I should know soon!!;
So I’m wondering, after pressure cooking chicken do I remove water before turning on air fryer mode?
I do sometimes and it is probably best but not a lot of difference in my opinion... I guess it does depend on how much water though... Thanks for watching!!!
Does the rack come with the cooker? if so how is it described in the manual? Im wanting to buy the rack
It comes with it but ithink you can buy it separately from ninjas website... thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders I've looked and all I can find is a one with a single bottom rack. Yours has a double rack. I mean the one which you put the chicken thighs on. Advice would be appreciated and thanks for great honest videos.
What is the model and manufacture of the food scale u used in this video?
It is an Escali... model F115....I got it at target for $19.99 and I love it!!!
Can you do this in the 6.5 ninja?
You could reduce the amount of chicken to one layer and you might have to get creative with the carrot placement and I would think you could!!
Thanks. I might try this using the dehydrated rack
@@sharonwalter9134 just a note... it was pretty crowded in the 8 but maybe use small thighs???
Where did you get the meat thermometer? And did you have to use the nu wave pic for this recipe?
I got it on the Thermapen website...and you do not have to do the step I use the Nuwave PIC for...only if you want to add the honey mixture to the carrots...you could just put honey by itself maybe...or even nothing...I think it would be good either way...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders thank you I will be getting a Ninja foodi 8qt real soon
John, have you had any issues with the Foodi lid rattling during the air crisp or broil functions? Mine does it randomly and I’m wondering if I should call Ninja about it. It makes the cooker significantly louder. Thanks.
I think the fan causes it to rattle sometimes from different air pressures building up inside but mine hasn't got loud enough to condemn me yet...It does make noises sometimes though...hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Hi John, I have the deluxe and when I put it on pressure cook it vents the entire time, working up to pressure and at pressure. Is that normal? The knob is turned to seal.
I wouldn't think so... try cleaning the vents and the gasket...i think there are videos showing how but if not the manual mentions it... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
That double rack that you are using also comes with the 8-quart XL that I ordered. If I decide I want another one someday then I'll either get a 6.5 Court or the deluxe 8 quart. At this moment in time I live on a disability check of just over $900 a month. That will change once my parents estate is settled because I am the only surviving heiress. it's going to take a year to settle the entire thing and for me to hire people to clean out the house and sell the house as well.
I'm sure that will be a big relief I hope all goes well for you...thanks for watching!
Any suggestions for alterations if you can't get boneless skin on chicken thighs? No store in my area sells them
Other than add time and use an instant read thermometer to make sure your at our above 165° Fahrenheit in the thickest part... Hope this helps and thank you for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Which part do I add time to though? The pressure cooking, the broiling? Or both. I just got this ninja foodi, and I'm looking at making this recipe as my first recipe. I do appreciate the help.
It may take some experimenting but I would try some to each...
Chicken looked a little red and bloody. My wife would not eat that. I will try with a few minutes more on the pressure side.
Cheers
Eric
I would check with a instant read thermometer afterwards... That is the best way to be sure... Thanks for watching!!!
Hey, John. I'm thinking about getting this pretty soon. But does the dial click into place when you reach a setting, or does it just turn without any tactile indication?
Thanks. 😊
I'm not where I can put my hands on it right now but if I remember correctly it does have segments or separate positions for each function and stops at each position... i hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Excellent. Thanks again.
Where do you get that cooking rack??
It came with the new ninja foodi deluxe... thank you for watching!!!
Great video! I would like to ask when used for a long time with a fan cover they had a filter to clean or a copper to clean.
Not that I'm aware of... thanks for watching!!!
He splits the chicken breast to show how perfectly cooked it is. I guess we're not supposed to notice that the inside is still pink.
I didn't notice that or I wouldn't have ate it...I made sure it was 159° before I pulled it though...sorry if they didn't look done but I'm positive they were...but...thanks for watching!!
👍
Thanks and thanks for watching Don!!!
I am torn between the deluxe & the new oven! I have to stay off RUclips!
I know the feeling...LOL!!!
It's over $300.00
It does retail $279... which is a little pricey... thanks for watching!!!
Preeety goooood burnt carrots and dangerous undercooked chicken.
What's the difference between Deluxe and 6qt 305?
This one is 8qt and the controls are upgraded... plus it has a yogurt feature... thanks for watching
awful recipe ... my rice was soaked in chicken fat and inedible .... the chicken was under cooked like his, even though it was 165 temp it was very fleshy ... carrots were okay ... the weight of my chicken though was a pound less than his and I did not shorten cooking time, I was worried they would be over cooked, obviously not ... maybe if he used the rack like I saw someone else do and foil to catch the chicken fat it would of been better .. good luck all.
Very sorry to hear that... the one I had was good but hate to hear yours was not...I rarely use aluminum foil in any air fryer recipe as it severely hinders or restricts air flow... however you may have a point and the chicken fat does make it onto the rice which I believe is a good thing but every one may not... the internal temp of the chicken is what determines the safe temp and affects the moistness of it also but as long as you have a thermometer you can cook to the desired level of temp or level of doneness you desire... thank you for your input and thanks for watching!!!
