John.....I made these tonight with my Foodi for my wife and I, and they were EXCELLENT! The only thing I did differently is that we don't like ours with sauce, so while they were resting, she sprinkled hers with lemon pepper and I sprinkled mine with a cajun spice. The wings plus curly fries from my Breville.....mmm mmm good!
That sounds like a perfect recipe... and method...thanks for trying it and sharing your results!!!
I absolutely love this guy! He gets straight to it.
Thank you... glad to have you aboard and thanks for watching!!
I finally bought my wife a Foodi for Christmas (of course, I have used it as much as she has) and I love doing wings in there! By steaming/pressure cooking first (I just steam because I don't use frozen wings), the fat renders off and drips into the pan then the air fry gives that nice crunch without the need for grease. I won't go so far as to say that they are heathy because they still have all of that skin but they are far less unhealthy than what you would buy at a sports bar and they are absolutely amazing!
I agree... has to be better than deep frying...thanks for watching!!!
Hi Jelly007 - I'm a FOODI Firstimer. I picked up a 10 lbs bag of wings at Costco, and I followed your recipe to the "T." I made 3 batches. With each batch, I increased the cooking time, looking for the perfect crisp. I found it at 25 minutes. I like mine extra-crispy. You're right, "The Sauce is Boss." Thanks for the video. Keep on cooking!!!
Thanks for that!!! I think it is an excellent way to cook wings and hard to beat the ease and price for wings that are as good as any wing shop!!! Thank you for trying the recipe, your method and your results!!!!
Just made these step by step with your video and the family loves them. Thank you!
Whew Weeeee!!! Just made wings for the first time tonight in my foodi. My entire family full of picky eaters LOVED them! I used Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce on them because it's what I had on hand. Fantastic! Can't wait to try them with various other sauces too. THANK YOU, John!
I usually never watch food prep videos but I liked this guy ! He explained it so well ! Very professional! Thank you God bless !
Thank you for all of your recipes! You are the first one I look for when I cook something new in my foodi! That steak! Wow mind blowing!!!
Thank you... glad to know I'm helping and thank you very much for watching and trusting my methods!!!
John, you have just made my day. I'll be trying this recipe over the weekend
Well please keep us posted on how they turn out... and thank you for watching!!!
If you want extra crispy set the timer for 30 minutes on air crisp! Awesome
made these and they were so good!! perfect! thank you!
Hey John just picked up some frozen wings for my wife and popped them in our ninja Foodi. I have not done them this way yet but they came out amazing. Bless you sir, thanks for sharing.
WOW!!! Great work. I loved it and so did wifeee! You have such a cool way of making it so easy to understand. You’re the best! One of your biggest fans. Chuck. Keep up the good work dude.
Thank you!!
Thanks John. I may cook these tonight!
The real colonel Sanders. Thank you for the recipe pops!
Just got one on Amazon Prime day! Thanks for helping us get dinner on the table.
excellent period love franks wing sauce and lemon pepper so good thanks
Mr. Sanders, i love your videos. you are the reason i got my instant pot a month ago, now I'm looking into getting the foodi to add to the cooking arsenal. keep these amazing videos coming, i do have a special request. id love to see more cooks on the big green egg. thanks again Mr. Sanders. great last name by the way haha.
Thank you Mr. Sanders...I like my instant pot but i love my foodi... and i do need to get something on that egg before long!!! Thanks for watching and yes we do have a great last name!!! Thanks again!!!
GREAT video. I'm now a subscriber. Good info, easy to follow with good video and explanation. Right to the point and covered everything.
Hey John, after a year and a half or so food started sticking to the fry basket and the coating started peeling off. So, I ordered a new one. And I had to return to your video so I could make some chicken wings. The wife loves the lemon pepper type. You mentioned letting them sit for a while before eating them so that they could take on more flavor and you were right that was a great tip. The wife said that was some of the best I have ever made.
Definitely a new purchase coming up for me!
You won't be disappointed...thanks for watching!
I did basically the same thing for lunch today, but used a frozen boneless, skinless chicken thigh instead. I don't do sauces on my chicken, so after steaming it, pouring out the liquid, and drying the thigh, I just sprinkled some homemade cajun spice on it, then air fried for 7 and 8 minutes, checked the internal temperature, removed, rested and ate......it was WONDERFUL! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. BTW.....I joined a Facebook Foodi group, and when someone asks how to cook something, I check to see if you have a video for it, then I share your link with them......you da man!
Thank you Joe... I'm glad you enjoy the videos and that sounds like a great idea for some chicken thighs!! Thanks for watching!!!
JOHN!!!!!!!! Great video man, but you have so many new gadgets, I can't keep up!!!!! Great video man, I love me some wings!! Go Cowboys!!!!
I am getting a little gadget heavy... and got more on the way...LOL.. love me some wings to brother... Rise Up!!!
I've been waiting all day for this!
I hope it was worth the wait... lol and thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Big fan. Where did Jelly007 come from?
@@hreed1985 well it started out about 35 or 40 years ago as jelly belly... and got shortened to jelly and then... way back when AOL was the bomb my screen name was jelly007... and it kinda stuck... LOL
@@JohnSanders love it!
Me gusto mucho, es perfecta y lleno todas mis perspectivas.
Looks good I’m gonna try that tonight
gonna try this today, yay thanks for sharing!!!
You are very welcome...I hope you enjoy them and thanks for watching!!! Let me know how they turn out!!
Definitely looking forward to more cooking video in the deluxe
Thanks and I intend to have them... thanks for watching!!!
Thank you, once again for sharing your videos!!!
Your welcome!!! And thank you for watching!
Great to see you again John...the wings look perfect...one day I will own a Foodi...but, for now, I am still following your original Instant Pot Chicken Wings recipe and using the broiler. So Good... :-)
And that works very well too!!! Thanks for watching Steve!!!
Awesome video John..I’ve been a follower since your Instant Pot wings video. I’m hooked on the Franks Red Hot seasoning and Franks Buffalo sauce. I’m actually making them tonight in the Instant Pot and then under the broiler. I can’t buy a better wing in a Wing Shop then what you can make with the Instant Pot. My next purchase will be the Ninja Foodi Deluxe 8 qt so I can do it all in one, plus try some of your other recipes. Keep the videos coming! NC here.. Carolina Cats coming for those Falcons 👍
I really love the convenience of the pressured cooked frozen wings!!! And the ninja makes it even easier!! Thanks for watching and I think we're ready for y'all.. Ride Up!!!
Going to do this for the super bowl tomorrow. My first time using my ninja pretty excited.
Very glad to hear that!!! I think you will be impressed and I know your gonna love the ninja!!! For the record I just released a video for fresh wings Ann's I have posted it below just in case... thanks for watching!!!

Love this recipe
Thanks John, very informative.
You are welcome... thank you for watching!!!
This is a great recipe because the wings are crispy and everyone can season or put sauce on to their liking!
Thank you...I think it works very well and we do this quite often!!! Thanks for watching!
I just can’t get over how beautiful the new Foodi is 😭 got me over here side eyeing my older models lol 😩
I know it...I think it's got my other ones a little worried...lol
Definitely going to give this a go
It works really well and very handy...thanks for watching!!!
I've made these many times and I've made them without pressure cooking first. I think they are 100x better when pressure cooked before air frying.
I tend to agree...i think it helps with crispiness and texture... but sometimes I'm lazy...lol...thanks for watching!!!
I'm a new subscriber. Recently purchased my first Foodi. I'm really enjoying your videos. Thank you.
Glad to hear that and thank you for watching!!!
I just made your chicken wings and they are excellent! I will definitely make them again.
This is a great video and I did a batch of frozen wings tonight - they were superb - the only very small thing is that as I am in the UK, I did the temp On 190 for 14 mins and they were ‘well done’ with internal temp of approx 78-82 but they were so nice
Thank you for sharing, love!
You are very welcome... thank you for watching!!!
love wings and the video
Thank you!!!
Thanks I was able to follow this and i am eating my wingz now :)
That is good to hear...thanks for watching!!!

Yummy!! Headed to sams right now
It is definitely one of my favorite things to air fry!!! I think you will be impressed with those sams club wings... they are a really good... if not the perfect size... thanks for watching!!!
I love watching your vids. I bought a foodi from watching you
I love hearing that... thanks for trusting me...and Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks! 💪🏾♥️
Merry Christmas to me! I bought it! Happy days are here again! :)
It is a wonderful gift to give yourself...lol..you will love it...thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders The truth be told, I love watching all of your demonstrations and recipes. Please keep up your good works! Blessings remain with you and those you love always! ;)
Excellent!! I wasn’t sure how to cook wings in my ninja but I followed these cooking instructions and my wings came out with perfect crispness.
I also get the breaded chicken tenders at Sam’s Club. 15 minutes from frozen under the Bake function at 360 F. When I do potatoes under pressure, I just run the Pressure Crisp for a minute to air dry them, then lift the lid and spray them with the oil and close the lid to finish. The only thing I do different. These look great and are probably cheaper than the breaded chicken. I like the look of the controls on this new Foodi. The only thing they forgot is an espresso basket on the side so you can pressure it up and make some coffee. 😄😄😄
Thanks, I need to try that method on tenders... it sounds good... the controls do look and feel good I really like the way they work... and believe me... I could use a double shot of espresso right now...Lol
John this is the umteenth time I’ve made these!! This time I didn’t drain the liquid and they actually tuned out better which I didn’t think was possible so juicy!! xxxooo
Really good to hear...thanks for watching!!
Trying this as we speak!
We love chicken wings in the ninja!
I do too... fast, easy and very good... thank you for watching!!!
Perfect‼️👴🏿👍🏾👏🏿
Thanks...and thanks for watching!!!
Wings came out perfect! We made lemon pepper wings , Seasonal Salt wings and Kick’n Chicken Wings. No sauce ! Thanks for the perfect wings !
You are very welcome... thank you for trying the recipe and sharing your results!!!
Just finished pre game wings came out great. Only thing I will do next time is trim them better half way through air fry skin on one side was not quite as crispy as the other but still restaurant quality
That is a good idea... thanks for sharing that!!
nothing wrong with that! Just got my foodi today, I'll be fixing wings tonight!
I think you will be impressed... you will love the foodi and there ain't nothing wrong with it either...lol...thanks again and I let us know how they turn out!!!
I know I’m late to the game but for anyone who is making wings for kids or a non spice lover. Try the Franks sweet chili sauce it’s pretty awesome and a change of pace from my favorite hot wing sauce.
Also for non sauce lovers I sprinkle Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning on them and they are great
Thanks... I'll add lemon pepper which is my favorite for non Spicey...thanks and thanks for watching!!!
I use sweet terriyaki sauce. We all love it.
We like it too!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Hi John, thank you for the demonstration. It's very helpful since we are considering getting one of this model. One question that I hope you can help me answering is that does the air crying lid get hot after air frying for a while? I saw a video comparing the original model and the deluxe model. The host in that video commented that the air frying lid gets hot over 100 F after air frying while the original model's lid stays around 78 F. Also, she also said that the lid feels "cheap" on the deluxe compared to the original, and not as well made as the original model.
I'd like to hear your view on that, please. Thank you very much!
I honestly am not sure of the exact temps of both lids but they both get warm when air frying but nothing I would call alarming and I personally like the look and feel of the deluxe... just my opinion though...thanks for watching!!!
Watch you all the time. Please make more vortex videos
Thanks Bill...I plan to make another video on the vortex soon... thank you for watching!!!
Where did you get the spray bottle you are using? Wings look amazing.
I think that one came from Ingles but I have seen them elsewhere...thank you for watching!!!!
Yum. E!
Yes... they were!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Another great video John! I know you’ve only started cooking with the deluxe, but so far would you say the new interface is easier? And are the inner pots the same size ? Thanks 👍🏼😊
The pots are very similar...I can't tell the difference and I'm not sure there is any... so far so good with the controls and yes... I think I like these better. Thanks for watching!!
John Sanders Thank you for answering, looking forward to future videos 😊
@@michelleaus your welcome!!! Thank you for watching!!!
What olive oil sprayer do you use?
"you know how you like wings..." not since I was maybe 15? But..watching how easy this is...whoa...I'm IN...AND
absolutely Thumbs Up for adding the Lemon Pepper... Oh yeah....! This is so easy I can hardly believe it... I don't know
why I never ate wings...I think honestly..I thought they didn't have much meant on it..but was I ever wrong... Never too
late, right? Thanks...like this one a LOT !
It's a football game appetizer must and all ages qualify... and yes never too late... thanks for watching Vita Z!!
@@JohnSanders Grew up with season tickets to Giants...(and Rangers on Weds)..Tailgating was the big thing..
heck..it was as big as the fourth of July...and I"m sure wings were a must as you say ! Be fun to try again !
Done the tailgating thing many times!!! Been awhile for me to... more like the couch now...Lol
I've actually watched videos on the "correct" way to eat wings. It makes a difference 😁
@@lorettacali10370 I think I have seen something about that somewhere!!!
Hi John. That's another great video of yours. One question:
Here in Germany, there are also frozen chicken wings that come already seasoned. I do not pressure cook them first, but only use the air crips option for about 18 minutes on 180-185° Celsius (approx. 360° F). They come out perfectly. Do you think, it's really necessary to cook them first? Have you ever tried just to air fry, using slightly lower temperature and bit more frying time?
I do have videos of air frying wings from frozen and it works really well... however... in the United States the ones that are preseasoned and are also frozen are usually and almost always already cooked... they just require reheating... nothing wrong with those kind but I usually season my wings myself... but...i would love to come to your country and try anything y'all have...lol... and maybe one day I can!!! Thank you for watching!!!
Want to cook some wings now and this is my exact question
A lot of the ones that are pure seasoned are also already cooked... but not all of them...i would just check the bags description...
So, how does this FD402 differ in the way it Cooks when compared to your other 8-quart Foodi?
Other than controls and settings it seems to be similar but I haven't did any head to head comparisons...I do like the controls better though and it looks a lot better... thank you for watching!!!
Mine always seem to stick to basket. I’ve covered them all in avocado oil and still stick.
Very nice! Impressive! Would you recommend this cooker or the Ninja Foodi Pro Grill if you have space for only one unit?
Yes... if I could only have one device it would be the NINJA pressure cooker!! Thanks for watching!!!
Thank you, John! I really appreciate you and your videos.
Glad to hear that!!!
I’m gonna try this but I might be missing a step, I watched video twice and I see it says to PC for 5 minutes then crisp for 15 min flip half way, but at end of video you said takes about 45 minutes so what am I missing? Thank you for video also.
I am referring to the time it takes to come up to pressure and all the other time of getting the wings ready etc...thanks for watching,!!!
What kind of OIL sprayer is this and where you got it?
Are frozen boneless wings same thing or cook different? Just bought the cook pressure as a mothers day gift.
I recently made your wing recipe, which came out amazing, but how kind did it take for your foodi to pressurize? We did two nights of it and both time, it took 20 or so minutes to pressurize.
It has a lot to do with how much water you use...the less the faster but you have to be sure to have enough...1 cup of say...hope this helps and thanks for watching!
John Sanders thank you so much for the info! Helped out a lot
These Look great. My stomach doesn’t like really hot stuff is there a mild hot sauce you recommend for this or shall I just keep using my Garlic, Salt, and pepper
Frank's Red hot Wing sauce is different than the regular stuff and it comes in mild...thanks for watching!
I was Hoping it did I will look for it what store normally carries it? Please
Almost all I go to including Wal-Mart
@@JohnSanders Thank you Brother in Christ, God Bless you 🙂
@@kathyfann your welcome and God bless you also
Looks great. Why do you spray with oil after the pressure cooking and before you Air Crisp? Does that make the skin more crispy? Thanks
In my opinion it does... I think it also helps with browning... thanks for watching!!!
Thanks!
What do you like best... wings in the ninja foodi, the ninja grill, the ninja oven or the new instant pot?
All are excellent...I really mean that!!! Thanks for watching!
Have you done a video for cooking frozen wings in the Ninja Foodi Grill?
I have not done that but I'm sure it would do an excellent job...thanks for watching!!!
I'm hungry just looking at those. I got the 6.5 qt foodi two weeks ago and I'm loving it. What is your favorite food/meal you have done so far in the foodi? I'm always looking for ideas.
I have several but the wings probably get done the most... but I guess my favorite is the 2 step pot roast... but truthfully that's a hard call... thanks for watching!!!
I made your 2 step pot roast last week and it was phenomenal. Could barely pick up the roast it was so tender.
@@irishsooner21 glad to hear that!!!
@@irishsooner21 I love hearing from someone who made the recipe showcased-I'm going to find that one and re-watch. Thanks Ryan for sharing your success...it's inspiring :)
My foodi cuts off on the pressure cook part and says add water
Just wondering how you clean the little stand that the air fryer basket sits on? Did wings last night and it’s so hard to clean. All the chicken wing residue is like glued onto it
I have used scotch bright and magic eraser... either of those work really well... thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders OK perfect I will definitely give that a try, thanks so much. Excited to deep dive into your videos with our new foodi machine we Got for Christmas. Just wondering where your accent is from?
I'm born and raised in Georgia!!!
Can I use more like 3 pounds of chicken wings but still do this recipe?
what if your frozen wings already have sauce on them? I couldn’t do the pat dry part. I’m still gonna try it but maybe not let the crisper go as long - I can always add time if needed. Next time I’ll get plain and add my own sauce.
If they have been sauced they are probably already cooked and just need to be heated and you could do that with air fry only...I'm not sure but it's possible...thanks for watching and hope this helps!!!
John Sanders LOL!! So I pulled the package out of the trash and sure enough they were cooked. I pressure cooked for 5 min and then crisped them up for 5, flipped and crisped for 5 more. I didn’t drain and didn’t dry...went way off script
John Sanders Got the plain ones today and am going to try this again!
Let me know!!
John Sanders they turned out great! I’ll keep practicing :) PS I’m going to search your posts but if you’ve got any thoughts on canning using your foodi I’d love to know. Subscribed! thank you
Man that is some accent. Thats a real mans accent right there.
Thanks...I do have a slight accent...lol...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders easy listening compared to my English - Yorkshire accent.
I would love to hear it...I do my James Bond impression every once in a while... hence the 007... but it is rather lame...lol
What is in the red spray bottle?
That is Avocado oil...i really like its high heat properties...thanks for watching!!!
How do you keep the inside of your pot from getting scratched??
I use Silicon most...or almost...all of the time and I have never had a scratch...thanks for watching!
@@JohnSanders does the crisper basket ever scratch it
Wait. I haven’t watched the video yet. I have a lot to watch. Haven’t been on in a few weeks! But I was reading the comments and am I reading right? There’s a new model??? Omg. Just like the darn die cast machines. I always have to have the new models. 😕
Yes... brand new FD402 and I'm the guy that has to have every new model that comes out... it's a condition I have so I know how you feel LOL... thanks for watching!!!
John Sanders I have that same condition 😩
What if the wings arent frozen? Does that mean I have to leave them in the freezer for awhile until they're frozen?
He has another video for unfrozen wings
Just wondering if you can do wings from frozen in the Ninja Foodi Grill. Didn't see it in the manual but would be great if you could try that next for wings recipe. Thanks
I think you can and I will try that soon of all goes well...thanks for watching!
I bought a bag of frozen wings from kroger and followed your directions from this video and my wings were soggy, not crispy. Did I have too many wings?
Possibility but they will not be as quite Crispy as deep fried
I’ve did all these steps and I’ve been waiting for my pressure to reach. It’s been 15-20 minutes and still have no timer. Am I missing something or is that expected
It takes a little longer with frozen wings...
I heard if you are heat it on bake or air crisp prior to even. Putting wings in it lessens the time. Haven't tried it yet becuse I don't pressure cook very much but worth a try.
I've never tried that either...thanks for watching!!!
What was the purpose of pouring water into a pyrex
It was hot water... Could shatter normal glass... Thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Yeah, but why not just dump it in the sink or something? I was expecting us to use it later
I thought I did...
So I dont need oil
No... you can put it on there though before air frying but you don't have to...thanks for watching!!!
What was the spray out of the bottle? Oil?
Avacado oil...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders awesome. I thought so. I use that as well
Tried this just now. Wings did not come out that brown and crispy
Next time I’ll just throw them wings on the grill.
Sorry to hear that but that is a good method too...thanks for watching!
Cook pork chops
I have a video of those here...
ruclips.net/video/ycf5lOG705k/видео.html
After pressure cooking, can't you just poor the liquid out, and throw the wings in the inner pot, instead of the basket, and airfry? Then instead of taking them out and using the tupperware, (more stuff to wash), just throw the seasonings and sauce and stir it around??
Yes, you could put it all in the inner pot at the end and eliminate one extra thing to wash but the basket helps a lot with air frying and I would definitely use it when air frying... thank you for watching!!!
I would say no - you need the basket as the point of air frying is the air needs to circulate all around the food to cook it evenly.
It is a good idea!!!
Buddy who are you trying to fool!!!
Anybody who cooked chicken wings from frozen to the oven looks way better than yours....plus less steps...bahaha!
Stop using the Ninja, your giving them a bad rep.
I didn't have the same result with these same wings in the oven... maybe with the pre cooked ones... but it has been a long time since I've done that too... sorry you feel that way though... but thanks for watching
