A little stream-of-consciousness, but some new perfume and what's been on my mind and skin.

Some great advice! I have to admit that sometimes I buy a bottle before finishing a sample because I see a great deal, but I have to remember that there's so much good perfume out there that something else will come along eventually.

Agree with so many of your points here. Also nothing wrong with just posting when you feel inspired by something. Thanks for the video and take care Pep ☺️

I have stared a no buy year to save for a trip and because I need time to enjoy my current collection to refine my tastes.I may allow a small budget for sampling.I am grateful for advice from respected collectors like yourself and I am listening. Thank you. I have made some costly mistakes and I am learning from those experiences as well.
I am off to Crete next spring and looking forward to perhaps making a purchase or two then.

This point of yours, Pep, is brilliant that I have to comment again for the second time. I am happy that I agree with all your point to be mindful in spending.

    This is all great advice.
I've been far too impulsive on the bottle buys over the years.

Sounds like a very interesting evolution with Tryst. Solid advice about giving awful perfumes a chance too. 😆 I'm being facetious about the awful moniker of course because it is subjective isn't it. Incidentally, I recently blind bought an affordable non-mass appealing perfume that just smells like straight up spermicide on a condom from the 80s. 🤭 Not pleasant at all, but I'm still giving it a chance. Should I though? 🤔 To flee or not to flee... that is digestion.

Ah, Tryst is new, so thanks for giving us your take. But what about Philtre? Or did I miss it. Let us know if you have thoughts on Philtre in future videos.
Recently, I've been on a vintage kick. I like the price points as compared to the new niche prices, and the style as well. I'm having a harder time with the newer trends over the past 10+ years.

@michael_galicia philtre will be part of an upcoming video featuring 3 different carnation perfumes. Just waiting for the arrival of the third.

Well this was a surprise at how this showed up on my feed. I've curtailed by YT perfume channel viewing considerably. Must be my new interest in diy time machine building tips.😉
You do You, is one of the best advices I had over the years.
I still love my scents that I wear and do enjoy a discovery but I have come to realise in my search most of what I see is others collection habits getting out of control, viewing a scatter gun approach or rush to being seen with the latest 'in' fragrance or a haul with a plethora of praise in the comments isn't particularly pleasant viewing.
Personally I don't mind going over the same fragrances, our experiences and expectations change over time as you have said. What was once a love, sometimes it can get even greater or not. Then there's the no, not doing it for me followed by a hang on and then for it to become a favourite wear. That's what makes this subject so compelling...just as building time machines in your back garden I'm guessing.
We've all been there with that first hit from a sample, Rich does it well with random multiples then selecting which (if any) go on skin, the ultimate test.
I've been travelling a lot for work these last few years, great for picking up hard to find at home fragrances. However sampling on skin at airports has left me with not so good memory associations with scents that I may otherwise really like. Hence the time machine interest....🤔
Hiram Green is definitely a house to keep an eye on. Lovely descriptions.

Both Philtre and Dilettante did not work with my nose…there’s something in both scents that did not sit well and also overwhelmed my nose. I suspect its a base note. I am however still curious about Tryst as it feels like from your first impressions that the base might be different.
