AXAR is batting really well for the past 1.5yrs in test crcket His test bowling is also good in Indian pitches . Even in whiteball formats ,he has the ability to bat at 5 or 6. India must utilise him wisely.
The Axar and Jadeja debate in overseas tests is not big simply because Jadeja has proved himself with both bat and ball. Lets say Axar is pretty close in terms of bowling to Jadeja and suppose he improves to become a better bowler than Jadeja, still the bigger issue is Axar's batting ability on pitches with pace and bounce. Axar has even struggled in SENA in limited overs cricket with the bat.
It's nice to see someone like Harsha put forth the fact that Indians are not modern masters of playing spin. So many Indian fans are still delusional about this fact. . Saying Litton is still Bangladesh's best white ball batter and is coming up on the red ball scene truly shows how ignorant the world still is about Bangladeshi cricket. The guy has had a horrible 2 years in white ball cricket including two below par World Cup performances while averaging in the higher 40s for the last 4 or 5 years in Test match cricket. I have seen so many cricket journalists and experts have this archaic view of Bangladesh cricket that doesn't reflect our current state at all for such a long time now that I can't be bothered to let it slide anymore. If you are talking about a cricket team professionally, get your facts right or maybe put in the time to do some research. . Also saying Taskin hasn't become the bowler he was destined to be shows how IPL minded even Harsha is. He is a World class fast bowler who prioritizes playing for Bangladesh. Yes he has had injuries but he has done more than enough around the world to be considered to have lived up to his potential so far. It seems like people just haven't followed his cricket. . As a Bangladeshi, I'm much more scared of Kuldeep than any 3rd pacer India can field at the moment. The trio of Jadeja, Ashwin and Kuldeep have always been able to break Bangladesh's spin playing experts. And without that, we are not a consistent batting unit. So, I'm really eager to see what the pitch does and how good or horrendous the Bangladeshi batters will perform in that. They might just give away all their wickets cause they are not beyond that. But if Siraj can't produce with the new ball then we are not really worried about him. But the threat of Bumrah in red ball is so enormous that I really can't see how Bangladesh wins a match other than an absolute miracle.
Calling Taskin a world-class bowler with an average of 48.3 in 14 matches seems to be a bit of a stretch, no? That is not to say that he isn't a good bowler. He bowled beautifully in the Pakistan test series. But the numbers don't show that. So, Harsha saying that he did not quite become the bowler we would've wanted him to be is quite right. Also, as far as his red ball matches go, he has only played 37- first class matches and 14 international tests since 2011 and 2017 respectively. So, I don't see how he's been prioritising the red ball over white. His T20 record isn't too flattering either. So, there is no question of him getting an IPL contract as a foreign player.

We only play him in tests when the conditions demand it. He was set to play the IPL for a very large price tag in the season before this one. But our Cricket Board rightly denied him I think even before the auction took place. There was heavy frustration from Indian media including Harsha on the Bangladesh Cricket Board or BCB's stance on which player gets to play the IPL and who doesn't. Another key thing is, most people will look at numbers and judge players that they don't often see play live. And that's fair cause most people aren't getting paid for it. But I've seen him play because he's my countryman and there is no doubt in my mind that he has been a World Class bowler in the past 3 or 4 years. Maybe his white ball numbers show that as well in that period. Personally, I'm too tired to get those numbers now. If you want to, be my guest. And even if they prove my point wrong, I know that he's that good cause I see him play live.

If he doesn't perform then i am of the opinion that his prime has gone in test cricket and he doesn't belong in Fab 4 in test cricket. Same also applies to Smith who is going down and if they persist with him as an opener in the India series then his test career greatness is also over!!
