Very interesting hearing about county cricket from Australian experience...Sadly when Lyon was playing, the north west of england had their coolest, wettest weather in almost 60 years..When he left it dried out and became sunny...
We don't have Pujara this time around.. That could be a massive factor.. Pujara basically tired Aussie bowlers and then our batters scored.. We would miss pujara
Agree brother, the way he played in last two series against Aus was beyond exceptional. He just frustates the bowler with his style of play. For me he has to be in the squad atleast. He is proper classic test batter!
The first half/two-thirds of that podcast, where Nathan spoke about the England experience and the game was excellent. Sorry, but the rest was just dross. I watched the Master Class Nathan did with Ian Ward and it was brilliant!! Nathan clearly has a very astute cricket brain and in that Master Class, Ward was all about extracting information around tactics, experiences and strategy, not what the best shot he's ever played etc.. Nathan is a cricketer's cricketer... the one you'd enjoy having a beer with after a days play... and like a good country boy, he doesn't want to talk about himself. It actually looked like he was uncomfortable partaking in the inane dross in the last section of the podcast. You missed a trick by not letting him talk more about cricket, and the strategies and experiences against the greats. Crikey, India are coming and Kohli was hardly mentioned. On the upcoming Indian series, we should see some great cricket but sorry, if the Indian's are fit and healthy, and hold their catches, Oz won't get near them... especially if Jasprit and Shami fire... and Hads, I like your outlook on the game, your honesty and directness, but that was a terrible trucker's hat...
Thanks for the feedback mate. Nathan is a good friend of the show and encourages us to ask him that "inane dross" as you call it. It also rewards our loyal fans who follow us on social media. Batting - India has the edge, especially if Australia is foolish enough to let Smith open. I’ve never seen a more mollycoddled international cricketer than Cameron Green. Fast bowling - Evenly matched, maybe Australia has a slight advantage given its home conditions, but not overwhelmingly. Spin - Ashwin and Jadeja pip Lyon. India.
