For sure! I stumbled upon this in 2008 when I couldn't sweep a big guy with the regular way. Works like a charm. Thanks for checking this out! I've always loved your teaching and techniques. I always use your knee bar from half guard wrist control set up. 👍
I assure you if you train the technique enough you can pull it off on bigger people. Every technique becomes harder when weight and strength come into play, but if you are proficient it can work. Thanks for watching... Keep training and persevere!
Been teaching this basic sweep for 10 years. Great. Great upgrade with the hand in elbow modification. It stops the roll through exactly the way you demonstrate and describe it. Thank you for sharing. Great Video and really clear explanations in your descriptions. I really appreciated the camera angles. It allowed me to see everything you were doing clearly and in detail.
@@haris20071983 I unknowingly was doing this for better control but the transition to the armbar was new to me Also just having the explanation to why it works so much better in video format makes it easier to show friends on the mat
This is an awesome technique for wrestlers that get caught with a double leg takedown for folk-style wrestling. I love how you counter that spin through with that rear naked choke grip. I literally love the way that you narrate the videos. I'm going to use your narration technique for my wrestler's videos. Again, awesome awesome awesome.
Just wanted to say, I used this move a few days ago against a very solid opponent and pinned him with this. He double legged, I got the 200%, and put him in a crucifix position for the pin. Thank you so much man. Great new tool for me to use!
Ive never had anyone get out of the 100% before, but I decided to switch to the 200% after watching this anyway. Man the 200% feels so much tighter, and more "in control" than the 100%. Thanks so much for putting this out there. It has really helped me.
That's really awesome! I'm the only one at my gym that does 100% and no ones had a reply for it yet, but I'm definitely gonna add this in regardless. Thanks very much!
Hi Brian. Used this yesterday at the dojo and was showing some of the guys today. Actually was doing it a little wrong but it worked. The incorrect way I was doing, not having my head on the opposite side of his head, was still giving guys problems and they were talking about tremendous shoulder pressure as I forced them over. Thanks Brian.
Fantastic tutorial! The 100% has been my favorite submission since the beginning, but people tend to bridge as you showed. I'm going to try that variation from now on. Thanks for sharing!
I've been finding , what you call 'the 100%', for ages and I knew there was something there, something to work with but just hadn't found it and also was constantly trying to counter to that 'spin through' so thanks loads. Really appreciated that tech++. Rock 'n' Roll. Peace
Nice Brian. Like how this is a move from a realistic situation that we've all been in and a great alternative to a guillotine that isn't really there against a decent partner.
Thanks for watching! Keep training it and you will find it works well anytime you can get the underhook. Sometimes you need to start with it rather than put it in once you've been driven to the mat. 👍
I love this. Have been using it from the wall for a long time and added it from turtle. Really able to control even big guys with this hook. Good stuff also with the open presentation you do - give us the scenarios and uses and let us adapt or implement as we can. Too many BJJ/MMA vids are formulaic. 🙏
Looks like it but not really realistic once he has spun through. It is a good option if you catch his arm between the bodies such as in full guard. You can use your legs to trap it while he is half way over to his back for the sweep. Once he spins, going to the back is much more probable. 👍
I've used this grip on every 100% I've ever done, even though none of my fellow white belts knew the counter to the normal 100% grip. The 200% is a bit overkill in that case, but it's a good habit to build!
Question: If your opponent puts his head way back after you have your hooks in (as at exactly 8:47), is there anything wrong with just wrapping your right arm under his chin for a reverse guillotine?
People have been trying this move on me off of the double leg, I'll have to try this spin to the D'Arce counter. Not very technical but I've just been tripoding and staying on the legs, then walking up to get side control or back to kill the legs, most people just let the 100% go, haha.
Then also a lot of times I would use that or the front Power have to set up or bars wrist locks! Kimora!! that’s the thing about it’s just beautiful wrestling
Great “old” video. I’ve been thinking about this video for two days now. The only question I have at this point is, would it matter what side you start the 200% on? I don’t see that it would if it’s applied as instructed, but a beginner never knows…that’s why I ask.
Do you have any advice for what to do when they jump round your legs at the start to side control to the opposite side you are trying to sweep them to? I feel like there should be a way to still get a sweep from there but can’t work out how
Sorry if this has been asked...but how often would you say a person bases with their right arm when trying to get this from the guard? What would your advise be; go for the kimura, maybe? Thanks!

Is wrestling some kind of grappling sport or something? I've been training grappling for a while, and I've never heard of wrestling before.. what chokes do they have?
12 years ago, i called this the "steering wheel sweep"... its a great move man
For sure! I stumbled upon this in 2008 when I couldn't sweep a big guy with the regular way. Works like a charm. Thanks for checking this out! I've always loved your teaching and techniques. I always use your knee bar from half guard wrist control set up. 👍

Is this effective for sweeping larger opponents?

Dude. This is gold. Thank you for being an innovator of the Art and keep these coming!
Thank you so much!
MAYH3M0NE im using it for 10 years now..nothing new

Hit this today for the first time straight from guard two rolls in a row. Got to the back both times. LOVE this.

Very nice of Ben to stop by and help out.

The RNC grip on this is really an awesome detail.
Thank you! I think so as well!!
Starts off a little like a half alch/cowcatcher, but with the underhook on the opposite side, and then continues with more BJJ variation. Nice.

Legit slickness right here.. Been using 100% for a while, but this seems like an ultra clever move for a lot of situations. Many thanks Brian!
You're welcome!!!
You don't realize how thankful I am learning this from you.

this is a great technique. I just hit it in live rolls from lots of different situations in the gi.
Naturally you just ruined my whole friday night now because this is all i will be drilling. Awesome move thanks!
I'm surprised this and the standard 100% aren't more popular, great vid
Your channel is pure gold. I cant thank u enough for the work u do!! Thank you!!
Love this move. So much control. Yep. Pure gold.
Will defiantly try this tonight. Thanks for all your awesome vids.
Thank you for supporting!!

This has been my favorite video for a long time now.
You got these diamond 💎contents Coach. Amazing videos. Always ❤
This is great. Doesn't work well mid against a strong double leg mid mat, but against the cage it's effective!(MMA)
Thanks for watching! Keep training it and you will find it works well anytime you can get the underhook. Sometimes you need to start with it rather than put it in once you've been driven to the mat. 👍
this looks really cool. Thanks for sharing, i will try it out next week at class.
This is one of my favs by yours! Great stuff!
Great video! Especially with the fence tips

ive been doing this & nice to see a video breakdown on it
thank you again, great video and instruction
Thank you for watching! I really appreciate it!! 👍
Looks like you could likely pull off a Crucifix during the 200%. Just a little leg position adjustments.

Fantastic and simple.
beautifull tecnics Briaan i really like the way you explain very clear thanks a lot for this help you give for every one !! :)
used this yesterday. worked beautifully! thank you sir
Great!!

If it works for you, it can't be wrong. Legit move..
That's cool if you can pull it off! May be illegal in most competitions. I say go for it!
I really want an answer to my question! I can't see a reason it shouldn't work. Please! :'(
Crisp, simple, love it!
looks awesome. and simple too.
awesome technique, thank you for sharing!

Good luck! The Darce counter is solid... Even if you can't finish the position with the Darce, the escape usually works fine.
Awesome sweep
AJ McKee submitted Caldwell w/ that instead of using it to change positions or sweep
This is soooo good :D, You have gained a new subscriber.
Yo love this vids, very helpful and im an advanced student already, thanks!
very nice breakdown,i enjoyed it
Interesante, muy buena tècnica

I wish you trained close to Cleveland Ohio. I feel my game would be so much better if I trained with you.
Great “old” video. I’ve been thinking about this video for two days now. The only question I have at this point is, would it matter what side you start the 200% on? I don’t see that it would if it’s applied as instructed, but a beginner never knows…that’s why I ask.
Dope! Going to try that this week
ill have to try mix it up between the two.
Geo's series to the truck is fine as long as you capture the half guard or mount. If not you must use 200% or the opponent will spin through.
I always use it when people agessive attack on top and lead with their head. I have great success with it
this is brilliant, great video!
I'm so glad I found your channel. This is amazing!
I like it!
I love it!
I want more of it!
😀
thanks for making these videos sometimes me and my dad do this together
Glad you like them!

Thank you and Hello!!
Excellent.
Do you have any advice for what to do when they jump round your legs at the start to side control to the opposite side you are trying to sweep them to? I feel like there should be a way to still get a sweep from there but can’t work out how
Dang i saw u train at gb northridge awhile back like 2 weeks ago or 3 lol
Yeah it's a great academy you have! It was fun to finally get back to training!
Sorry if this has been asked...but how often would you say a person bases with their right arm when trying to get this from the guard? What would your advise be; go for the kimura, maybe? Thanks!
It's all good. It doesn't matter if they base. There is too much pressure to stop it unless your opponent is much bigger than you.
Really awesome move!
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
thanks man awesome technique

thank u. it was very helpful

muito bom eficiente. serve como raspagem.
Fantastic stuff my brother!!! Are you ever in the Hollywood area?
Sometimes! I'm not far away... Santa Clarita by Magic Mountain.
Ok great! I have to come visit!
amazing. what if he doesn't spin over for the darce and instead just lay there, on top of you, not giving you a chance to get a hook?
If he doesn't spin it's easier to take the back, practically unavoidable. Thanks for watching.
TeachMeGrappling Coach Brian thanks for replying, very cool stuff you've got here and thank you for these good instructionals. looking forward to more
Beautiful!
sensacional, fantástico.. obrigado
