    Just incredible that they made these little beauties I didn’t know they had a 10 series. Sort of like the bobcats of their day in some respects. Still looks great and could be quite handy even now. Great piece of history 👍😎

    Good looking, great running, little machine. It is fast, and so is the operator.

    My Dad loved a 10-B we had three of them at one time painted yellow and maroon with red stripes. He was a master at running cable machines. Those guys are iron men👍

      The green + gray scheme is older. The nice cream and maroon scheme came in around 1950.

      SteamCrane that’s interesting we had two from 1948 and the last one we had was in the 50s I thought it may have been a 55 but was yellow and maroon. I remember seeing 15-B in green and gray. But whatever colors they came in they sure look nice. Did you know they made a special trailer to tow those around with at one time. Set up to tow behind a dump truck. We had photos of one but a can’t find it.

    Smooth operator at any age. Fantastic for 80s! Delightful little machine.

    Any machine run well can be mesmerizing, but this guy had me hooked at, ohhh, the thirty second mark. He makes it look so easy (which it's not), and really shows the craftsmanship of the machine's restorers that he could put it through it's paces with zero issues. Awesome!!!

    Nice. Reminds me of trucking day working /hauling from under cable shovel fronts. One thing for the younger generation to think about is the operator comfort or lack of and the climate control for operators in the colder weather.

      So true my Dad would be in his 90s if still alive I have the shovel front of one of his 10-Bs at the back of property. I think of him every time I pass by it. He was old school cable man. Shovel cranes or backhoe he ran them all and all sizes. But loved Bucyrus Erie the best.

    “Experienced operator“ may be an understatement when speaking about this guy…
    “Master operator“ would be more accurate in my opinion…

      Yes! It's awesome to be at this show and realize the years of experience around you. But also, quite a few younger guys that do an excellent job. I strongly recommend that this show is worth a very long drive or flight to attend, definitely the best digging show in the world.

      When digging, you're only using 3 clutch levers and 2 brake pedals.

    Oh My... This guy is amazing:-) wish I could run my old dragline as smooth and gentle as this... Guess he moves at least as much m2 meters of soil pr hour as a modern computer aided eqipment does... but this one smells and sounds a lot better :-)

    very beautiful restauratedd machine.
    Very good operator !
    This is the really operator school, not phone, USB, air conditioned and stereo
    For working, need passion, brain and after arrive the experience.
    Young operators are good only for new machines
    But passion of work is totally out

    Could anyone estimate the amount of soil that was in one of these heaping buckets? yds^3 or M^3?
    It was a please watching that Master Operator work his magic! Smooth as silk.

      Didn't find a reference, but sure to be less than 1/2 yard. However, the machine has such a fast operating cycle that a good operator can move much more material per hour than you'd expect.
      The 10B was intended as a small contractor's machine. One available feature is a high speed travel in only the forward direction. That permits it to move quickly around a job site, saving time.

    It sure is much better than using a shovel, but make no mistake running equipment of that vintage and older was quite a physical workout not to mention a mental one and after 10 to 12 hours an operator could be quite exhausted. They sure don't make them like they used to, men or machines.

  • @annafraley5388
    @annafraley5388 4 года назад +1

    Yeah, He was pretty good, knew what he was doing and had a nice touch
    With that cute little B&E 10-B, might have looked a bit better with the Standard Yellow where the Gray is though.

    • @SteamCrane
      @SteamCrane  4 года назад +4

      B-E's standard colors changed over the years. The gray and 2 shades of green (boom vs underframe) was standard until the late 40's (forget the year), then they went to the nice maroon and cream(sorta yellow) with green, then went to a couple insipid color schemes.

      great nimble eq - r! set control on joysticks and it will be no worse than modern.
      Yes, the operator is awesome, 10-B has nice light controls, very fast.
