He had a lot of years on big Manitowocs. One of the first videos I posted was onboard with him. Several people told me they learned how to operate from that video. Notice how he was locating each bucket to different places on the pile.
I can only imagine what the fella who installed the D4 tracks must have felt like when he realized they were on backwards. Not a simple job to turn'em around. Young'n at the controls has it figured out too. Nice to see. At 15 my first summer job was digging a basement for a new house, with a D2. Good grief, I thought I'd never finish.
When I was a kid my dad made a big dirt pile out back for me to play with my construction toys in. (Before Tonka, too!). One of them was a Euclid tandem dump. (Iron - Ore - Earth). - ( I always wondered why they couldn’t make up their mind which one) I spent many hours out there. These guys must have richer dads!
Dinky Supertoys: Number 965 Euclid reap dump truck made in England. Marked " Stone, Ore and Earth" probably because it could handle all three types of loads would be my guess. BTW: there is an old 3-panel windshield Euclid at this show. The body was replaced with a drilling rig but it looks like it hasn't moved in a while.
@@Caje-zf8md Now you got me thinking - was it “Iron” or “Stone”.? Going to have to dig it out of the box in the attic. OF COURSE I still have them - I’m not ready to grow up yet, I’m only 68 for God’s sake!
@@SteamCrane We were idiots in those days...I live near dozens of junk yards, hundreds of millions of dollars went to the crusher in cars, trucks, equipment....people...:) Nice to see people rehabbing these beasts!
***** Remember that it has no suspension other than the fat tires and the driver's seat. It is derived from a high speed scraper, which is brutal on the operator even with the nice seat. I will be posting some scraper action soon, watch the drivers getting beat up.
Another great video! The d-4 track loader I’m guessing is the predecessor to the 933 looks great. They all do!
I love that headlights on the old dump truck
I looks like a big green cicada! The two-stroke diesel sounds about like one too...
That dragline operator is really a pro. Quick and smooth.

@@SteamCrane He was being careful not to rake up a big pile in front of his machine. That was the first sign that he has a clue.
@@David-yf5fo He had a lot of time mining on bigger draglines.
@@David-yf5fo Protecting the drag cable like that is a good indicator of a pro operator.

I never noticed the tracks before!
I noticed that only after you brought that up and expanded the frame on my viewer. You must have an awful lot of time on your hands.
Love the screaming Detroit Diesel. Thanks!
Wonderful old equipment, driver on the cell phone! Ha!

Hey, 1960 called, they want their equipment back!
Nice to watch without those cursed reverse beepers going off, too!
They can't have it, they'd just scrap it!

SteamCrane I ran an S-7, a TS -14 and 24 and it don't get no better! I used to be 6'2" and now I'm 5'11". Go figure!
+SteamCrane I follow ya I didn't mean ill will
+SteamCrane oh boy poor operator
The 14's and 24's would go like a Jeep but God help if you had a haul that had any length to it. The shorter the better!
