I'm in the midst of researching what kind of white paint could take a good deal of heat and not yellow or otherwise be damaged by it. Did you find out anything on this subject? I know the bricks in a fireplace can store a lot of heat and get quite hot as well. Have you gone through a heating season with this where you had some big fires going?

How come you didn't paint ugly concrete slab? Other than white, of course. Also, that paint is very expensive, can you recommend any other brands?
