I would say G1 transformers. Later transformers even in g1 gets into nonsense. Like the head changers the ones with engines that turned and they fought g.i.joe so it rolls into your motif
Ayyyye, thank you for the Saturday pick me up!!! 65 hour work week, come home, crack a brew and this video popped up. Thanks brother, keep em coming!!!
If you have a sealed Wonder Bread He-Man that's about $7K, an open one with good paint and complete will fetch $4-$5K seven days a week. It blew my mind when I found that out.
"Gwildor is from the movie." Did you know he wasn't! Turns out he first was in the he-man newspaper comic strip! So, he was around before the movie! Didn't know that also!
I liked female characters as well, but the toy’s execution never seemed up to par with their male counterparts. You got these big hulking brutes all based off a certain mold (for the most part), and then ya got the gals who looked spindly and a bit awkward by comparison. Obviously Teela would look worse as a variant of the male mold, but I just don’t think there was a concerted effort (or perhaps a feasible alternative) to translate the female aesthetic into a line like this. It was the same thing when it came to Wonder Woman in the Super Powers line-she just didn’t hold up visually. GI Joe and Star Wars pulled off the integration better, and I think it just comes down to the difference between “normal” figures and “super-powered” figures. The males are ridiculously jacked to emphasize their power and strength, but the females-while ostensibly as powerful and strong-retain their “normal” physique. It’s a peculiarity that is accepted in comics and media like MotU, but it becomes more pronounced when the characters are incarnated as actual figures.
Great video! Yes, many of the names were very corny. But, the designers were aware of this and doing it on purpose, as a joke. “What’s this one? A skunk? His power is stink? That’s hilarious! What’s he called? Stinkor? Really? Okay!” It was a joke on the company executives and the public, who kept buying them regardless of how preposterous they were. I mean … the guy’s name is He-Man.
He-Man is the best.. man. Can’t stand Orko. Can’t stand Snarf. As a kid I didn’t care for goofy side kick characters.. Robin sucks too. I hated Prince Adam, I got the toys first so He-Man to me was always based on the original mini comics. He-Man was a barbarian dude given the power harness & power sword by the Sorceress. The cartoon was ancillary to the toys, it was amusing but not my lore.. darker Frazetta / Conan stuff was what I liked best.
All the villians are great. I was thinking where is Hordak the snakemen two bad. And Cobra Kahn the toy with the decapitation play feature some times used to squirt water.
Regarding Clamp Champ and diversity, Master of the Universe was actually very diverse. The races are just different than what we have on earth. Which makes sense since Eternia is a different planet. I mean, why would the races on Eternia evolve the same way as they did on earth? It makes much more sense to have different races separate from Earth. For example, Stratos is an Avionian. Orko is a Trollan. Buzz-Off is an Andreen and so on. And in some versions blue skinned people like Skeletor, Trap-Jaw, and Sy-Klone were called Gar. So MOTU was very diverse just in a different way as far as we see race on earth.
Yeah, I had Gwildor too. I don't think he was anyone's favorite. Classics and Masterverse did slightly improve him though. I never understood the hate directed at Kevin Smith. I saw both Revelation and Revolution, and they were pretty epic stories with some amazing animation. Best I can gather is that some fans didn't like the marketing, which is kind of a weird reason to hate a show. I liked what Netflix did, but there seems to be a handful of fans out there that really really hate it.
Yeah, I don't think the Kevin Smith show is that bad, just think it was a weird decision to have season one without He-Man. As a result, I have yet to watch season two
What?! You're making videos about other toy lines besides g.I. Joe!? How dare you! lol Just kidding. Great list. Snout Spout technically wasn't a warrior. He was a fireman. He's the He-man version of Barbeque from G.I.Joe. Water blasts can actually be very powerful. Ever get hit with water from a firehose? It will knock you on your butt. Also, he had the strength of an elephant. And had an axe much like Barbeque.
Even as a 9 year old at the time, I hated Orko. I felt like the character was too childish and annoying. Same goes for Snarf in Thundercats. Even Cringer was one of my least favorites, but at least he turned into Battle Cat every episode and redeemed himself lol.
Great video! LIke you, my MOTU playing days were inspired by that dark, ominous Rudy Obrero packaging art (which, of course pays homage to Frazetta) and not the goofy version given to us by Filmation. With that said, I'm going to go WORST hero characters cuz the bad guys got all the best designs and it's just more fun! 10. Ram Man-goofy looking brick n a missed opportunity 9. Snout Spout-weird yet pointless concept 8. Clamp Champ-another weird one that just doesn't translate as a logical or effective warrior role 7.Mekanek-another one n done concept, silly overall 6. Flying Fists He-Man- the Spider Man dune buggy of our favorite MOTU hero. Pointless pile of shit. 5. Laser Power He-Man- the Superman's jet version of our favorite MOTU hero. LIke, doesn't he already possess the universe's most powerful weapon? (sigh...) 4. Gwildor-goofy looking but at least comes with the cosmic key 3. Orko- Obnoxious; totally useless 2. KIng Randor-A repaint nightmare that still manages to look like the Burger KIng. 1.Prince Adam-The most poorly executed concept. This guy sucks so hard.
MOTU Origins is my bag at the time. My bro and I had the figs at the start inspired by the art work and neat characters. The mini comics created my head canon. It was a couple years I think before we were able to see the cartoons. Anything after about 84? And the introduction of the Horde we were kind of tuning out. I love Motu though. And 200X made MechaNeck cool 😜 For another idea- a hidden gem Crystar 😊
This is easy. I watched the goofy cartoon, never liked the toys until the masterverse started. Then the cartoon collection started. I bought the masterverse man at arms, skeletor. Now looking forward to the cartoon Hordak. And the new merman looks really good.Really wish Mattel would do a comic style zodak. 😂❤
My top three hero figures are battle armor He-Man he is my favorite He-Man action figure of all time. Man at Arms and Ram man. Also love buzzoff extendar and snout snout if I was going to choose three that weren't Big Time characters.
What famous 80s Toy Line should I rank next?
I would say G1 transformers. Later transformers even in g1 gets into nonsense. Like the head changers the ones with engines that turned and they fought g.i.joe so it rolls into your motif
@50-Deep One of my absolute favorites
Go R-Rated and do Rambo.
@@meltedcopper9247 Oh yeah, that would be fun to do
Not a Toy Line per se, but what about ranking the theme songs/opening credits of those 80s cartoons?
Great video, cant wait to see your ranking of the villians. Also would love to see one on M.A.S.K.
Yes, M.A.S.K is one of my absolute favorites, and I still have all of it
Every day after school had to get home to watch He Man. Great memories! Own em all minus wonder bread He Man.
Ayyyye, thank you for the Saturday pick me up!!! 65 hour work week, come home, crack a brew and this video popped up. Thanks brother, keep em coming!!!
Thanks Jason, You rule!

When he said Rokkon all I could think of was Def Leppard 😂
Motu, which I love, is just Conan The Barbarian meets Flash Gordon.
Yeah, that's perfect. make that movie, Hollywood.
Ewww...they made a Gwildor figure?
Love the video! I like the idea of you expanding beyond Joes in your content!
Thanks! yeah, I might try some M.A.S.K. stuff and Transformers next
"Gwildor is from the movie." Did you know he wasn't! Turns out he first was in the he-man newspaper comic strip! So, he was around before the movie! Didn't know that also!
Are we not going to talk about how the Roboto commercial is narrated OPTIMUS FREAKING PRIME?!
What's even funnier is both are the same color scheme
Ram Man will always be the bottom of the barrel for me.

I am with you on Orko! I hated him! I felt the “comic relief” ruined what could have been a great action cartoon!
The classic MOTU artwork on the toy packaging and magazines was by the legendary Earl Norem.
Man E Faces was my favorite
Mine's a tie between Roboto & Buzz-Off.
Robert E. Howard for children is really the best description of He-Man.
That Italian version of He-Man looks like Dino Bravo 😂

Agree 100% with this
Great channel
Thanks!
great video

Yeah, that video is coming next. There are some really great villains
Down with the king!
How is Clamp Champ the only diverse figure in the line? It's a line full of different species of alien. You could argue it's the MOST diverse.
Hahaha!
Regarding Clamp Champ and diversity, Master of the Universe was actually very diverse. The races are just different than what we have on earth. Which makes sense since Eternia is a different planet. Come on. You know what he’s talking about. Regardless of the the fake races, by “coincidence “ most are white. Three are not. Get a grip.
Yeah, I just find all this stuff funny
lol, I had Gwildor
I had pretty much all of them except for 1 and 2 for some reason. Never could find the original He-Man.
Also beep Kevin Smith.
Yeah, I had Gwildor too. I don't think he was anyone's favorite. Classics and Masterverse did slightly improve him though.

@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Season 2 has alot more of He-Man. There are some pretty cool moments. And an intriguing cliffhanger.
cool list, reminds me of some of the odd characters from the toyline.
Thunder Punch is my favorite version of He-Man
What?! You're making videos about other toy lines besides g.I. Joe!? How dare you! lol Just kidding. Great list. Snout Spout technically wasn't a warrior. He was a fireman. I figured I would expand my dorkiness into new realms😄
Okay, a fireman kinda works, but still, his name is "Snout Spout"
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Yeah, the name is kinda silly. Hey but, it rhymes.
Even as a 9 year old at the time, I hated Orko. I felt like the character was too childish and annoying. Same goes for Snarf in Thundercats. Even Cringer was one of my least favorites, but at least he turned into Battle Cat every episode and redeemed himself lol.
You forgot ‘Fisto’ with his fisting action.
He's in there. (In the middle)
My favourite heroic MOTU figure is David Hasselhoff.
Where would you put the heroic Meteorbs?
Yeah, maybe I could have put them on the list. Are they figures? They would be at the bottom. They suck, hard
Long live Burger King Randor!

Haha. Yeah, that Prince Adam figure is terrible.
Love your collection. Where did you get the shelfs? I might try them for G.i.joe action figures. 😊
Amazon. They were cheap

I had the Stinkor figure

Wonder bread heman isn’t rare at all
Gobots…. 😐
If anyone is yelling at you in the comments, we can just laugh at the lowers. Well done for not being a loser!
My top three hero figures are battle armor He-Man he is my favorite He-Man action figure of all time. Man at Arms and Ram man. Also love buzzoff extendar and snout snout if I was going to choose three that weren't Big Time characters.
My favorite heroic figures were in order Man-At-Arms (needed variants of him), Battle-Cat, Sorceress, Buzz-Off and Rio-Bast.
Yeah, we need a Man-at-arms with a huge weapons back and modifiable armor like a Centurion
Great video
Thanks! I love your channel, btw
