We still call gnats a gnat… at least in the Southeast we do. The regional dialect of American accent and speech in the Southeast retains a tremendous amount of 17th century English vernacular and turns of phrase. That is awesome, I just bought a locking miter bit with an HDPE setup block. After watching this video I can’t wait for it to arrive. I’ve known about the locking miter but for a long time but never bought one. Thank you for producing this video.
I bought a bit like this years ago and still have not used it. I don’t have any set-up jig for it and have been too intimidated to give it a go. Now I know….I must have some sort of jig to set the bit up perfectly. I love your attitude and teaching style. Delightful to watch! You have a new subscriber 🫶🏻🇨🇦
I've got that infinity jig. It's an awesome tool and if you make lock miter joints or are afraid to try them, get that jig. You definitely won't regret it. As usual, awesome video. Thanks.
Great video Graham, thanks. I'm about to build a shoe cubby for a customer and wanted to do more than just a simple miter. I bought a bit on Amazon and am ready to try. Your video and a couple others have been a great help with the psychological aspect as well as the physical one. This is going to be cedar end grain joints so ... Wish me luck.
Morning Graham, another wonderfully ‘laid-back’ video. So good to watch your stuff after watching many other, mainly American, channels. All of the channels I watch are chosen for the content, delivery, and indeed the knowledge they impart…so I am not complaining by any means! However, almost all are ‘clinical,’ whereas your presentations are so ‘relaxed.’ An excellent contrast….keep up the good work. Incidentally, later I shall email you in the hope you can advise me on some choices regarding a new ‘router-table’ I intend to assemble. Although you must be very busy, I hope you can respond? Cheers Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
I have looked at these bits before, but always thought I would screw it up trying to use them, but you made it look easy with that set tool. Great looking little box Graham.
Hello, you make it so easy, thanks for sharing your tips. I have a problem finding this magnets Jig: can you share a link of how I can get one! Thanks a million
Another great video Graham? However, I am rather intrigued that the Kapex (mitre-saw) has been replaced by a new radial arm cross-cut?? Also, looks like you are following the latest thinking on ‘end grain’ glue-ups (drawer front). Think I would have gone with dominoes, or dowels at the very least! Nonetheless, lovely ‘locked mitre’ joint job! Keep up the good work.
so would this be applicable to making storage cabinets and drawers for the shop? if the holding strength on the glued up joint supports good weight, it might be a nice way to make some tool storage, under table drawers … going to think that one through for a bit … I know once the joints are glued up, that’s that for that piece of wood, and using pocket holes makes the wood slightly more reusable but it seems like this might be even sturdier? just a thought … great video as usual … thanks!
Thanks Paul, my daughter and sister have the Nespresso coffee machine, which fits on top of this perfectly. The slightly larger other make (name escapes me) should fit as well. 👍
Hi, the setup tool was purchased at the same time as the bit from Infinity tools. You can find them here. www.infinitytools.co.uk/accessories/lock-mitre-jig/
So you were right, (Eagle Eyes) it was a Radial Arm Saw, but no its not new and its not a replacement. Explanation on its way. Maybe controversial. 😁👍😢

HI Aaron, my pleasure Sir, my pleasure indeed. 👍
I love that after all these years, you still experience awe, wonder and delight when you produce a perfect joint!

You're far to kind, but I accept your complement, thank you. 😁
I just bought the microjig lock miter. It is easy to setup they ground a flat on it so if you use the half lap jig. I got it perfect first try.
Awesome. 😁👍
Beautiful works, thank you a lot!

Hi George it was a walk in the park, try it buddy, makes box making a dream. 😁
@ 9:30, why didn’t you use that locking miter on the two short vertical edges
HI Gino I really can't remember, looking back at the footage it looks like I'm being a little lazy. 😢😢
I wonder why the drawer font and back do not use the miter lock, and instead just glue on to drawer?
Hi Arthur, lack of planning on my part.
Excellent ...
Thanks Martin. 👍

Hi Len, thank you. I think the glue will do on such a small drawer, if it were bigger..... Explanation on the Radial Arm Saw coming. 👍
I tried to get hold of the set up tool a while ago and it was out if stock for ages so I gave up buying the bit and gauge in the end.
Hi Alec, that's a shame, it works quite well. 👍

Hi Marino, yes its a definite possibility, however, there's another coming that may well be of interest to you. Hang fire for a bit. 😁👍

I'm going to make one,EXCEPT...I'm going to make the top to be used as a cutting board, with space for knives on the bottom.
Thats an interesting idea. 👍
Do u have a link with the set up tool plz thanks

Did you replace your kapex with a radial arm saw?
So you were right, (Eagle Eyes) it was a Radial Arm Saw, but no its not new and its not a replacement. Explanation on its way. Maybe controversial. 😁👍😢
You didn’t show the second part of the setup.
I don’t have the setup tool so video is irrelevant to most viewers
Please! It’s “Millimeter”. NOT “mil”! A “mil” is a thousandths of an Inch (Imperial). Mil is NOT a millimeter (metric).
