  • Create super-strong drawers with just one router bit. Amana's drawer lock bit is a big time-saver when you have a lot of drawers to make. With this one bit, cut a lock joint that’s ideal for quick construction of strong drawer boxes. Use in a table-mounted router only. The same bit setting is used for both halves of the joint; adjust the fence position slightly to switch between sides and fronts/backs.

Thank you so much for clear and concise instructions on bit set up! I was trying to set up this bit and getting a little frustrated making adjustments. Your instructions helped me approach systematically. I am again a happy woodworker! 😊

Great video, thanks! What would be the setup height and distance from fence if using 3/4" stock for the drawers?

Great instruction for drawer construction. Would this lock joint work well for larger drawers using plywood rather than solid wood stock?
    Thank you.

Does this setup work for all brands of bits? I own the CMT and Sommerfeld Tools router bits? Thank you for the video and demonstration! The presentation was excellent and entertaining!

How do you reconcile @ 6:24 and @ 6:51 ? "All one router bit." How did you make the groove on the bottom?

Will I need the same setting if I have 1/2 inch sides and 3/4 inch front?

Thanks for your question! Yes, it should be the same setup in with the width difference of your front panel. One thing we do always suggest, is to use test pieces and make cuts during setup and then you'll be assured you're getting the results you are looking for. Thanks for watching our video(s).

Here is the first video I come across showing this bit. He does an example of 3/4" fronts and 1/2" sides
