Making a small maple wooden box using lock mitre joints and figuring out how not to get tear out.

For this episode I decided to try making a small wooden box using lock mitre joints. For the top I used an offset lock mitre joint to create a small border around the top piece which was a mix of different woods.

Just stumbled on this video. The best lock-mitre vid I've seen! I have a LM bit [been it the packaging for eons actually] and your video has been the most instructive thing I've seen concerning using one. There are definitely easier ways to make a box, thanks for your instruction. I might have a crack at it...
