      Hi Ivana I’m 4 “11 weigh 160 it’s been a little over a month I been working out 5 days a week 2 of those days are spin class the rest are cardio and lifting. I track my cal on mfp try to stay at 1500 I haven’t lost any weight I can’t see any difference I also quit coffee thinking that was the problem and nothing. I’ve done keto before lost 30 pounds then got pregnant now I can’t loose any weight no matter what I do. My daughter is about to be 2. That sucks, and what’s worse is no response. So I’ll respond to you. I feel like it’s super hard to track correctly on meat based diets . I suggest weighing your meat before cooking it. Eat more salads and just thinking that you must be having 2200 calories and perhaps you are not calculating it right as you do say there is no difference. If it’s a health related cause to weight gain and after checking you are not accidentally being inaccurate you should see a doctor as plenty of things can mess with your weight-highly stressed life is a weight gain cause. Might I suggest cleansing using herbs to clean out gut. Then once you detox it is usually easier to lose fat in my experience

    I've been trying to lose weight for a few years now. I'm 5'6" and I used to be 187, which is overweight according to my BMI. I've done keto, low carb, and two years later, I got down to 155. Then I fell off that keto band wagon and only gained about 5 lbs. Now recently I've come across a diet that not only I can be consistent with, but I can also incorporate into my newfound lifestyle and that is, fasting. I've been pretty flexible with what I eat without sacrificing the foods I love. So far I'm down to 141 lbs. I've done a 48 hour fast last month, which got me to 141 lbs. And now in August just this week, I eased myself out of a 72 hour water fast and I have yet to check my weight on the scale which I plan to do on Saturday. I rarely pig out on foods and manage to stay in a caloric deficit. My goal weight is 125 lbs. So far it's been working pretty well for me.

      You’ve used a lot of different strategies. Hopefully the strategy you’re using now is sustainable for you in the long term. I personally don’t recommend water fasting…it’s unnecessary and potentially dangerous if unsupervised.

      @@IvanaChapman I only intend on doing 48-72 hour fasts at least once every two months until I reach my weight goal. By that time, my only challenge would be to sustain it.

    • @chadgaul1681
      @chadgaul1681 2 года назад

      @@IvanaChapman I understand. Fasting isn't for everybody. Like you mentioned, it's really gonna depend on the person and what works best for them. And during my eating windows, I do manage to take in at least 1600 calories. I don't even overeat anymore. I do, however, indulge in some junk food once in a while. I'm a bit of a stickler against doing a calorie surplus unless I happen to be severely underweight, but I don't see that happening. I couldn't give up food completely if I tried.

I am 5 foot two and I weigh 182 and I never had problems with my weight till I turned 76 and then , woe, I gained 17 pounds in a year and had to change one size of pants and T-shirt and it’s depressing even though I’m positive all the time I’m very spiritual. I had chronic insomnia for about a year to two years. I’ll go to bed at 12:30 or one and I don’t fall asleep till 6:30 or 7:30 and I’ll sleep and wake up again around three hours later at the most, that part is exhausting no matter how I accepted. I don’t accept it deep down and I don’t know what to do. I’ve seems like I’ve tried everything , as I eat less than 1500 cal and all wholesome healthy food ideas for this? Plus I say to myself every day I am losing weight. I am going to be thinner. I am going to be able to sleep better, I won’t let those negative thoughts consume me… But I have to say it’s not working and there might be one day out the week where it really depresses me

    I’ve been going to the gym daily for an hour alternate days of cardio and weight training. A month straight. 1500-2000 calories daily and my weight isn’t going anywhere in fact some days I end up a pound or two heavier. Hoovering 157-160 which is overweight for me. It’s quite frustrating though I am noticing muscle gain.

      It’s only one month in, so there’s probably no need to change anything drastic. It’s great that you’re already noticing muscle gain (I assume you’re a beginner). Most people underestimate their calories quite a bit, but it seems like you’ll need to go a bit lower to get fat loss.

    • @hannaf8747
      @hannaf8747 10 месяцев назад +16

      Hi! I'm going through the exact same thing. I did run into a word called metabolic adaptation. According to some of my initial research, if our body is perpetually receiving less calories than it needs, it goes into "survival mode" so any calories we feed into it will turn it into fat right away. Try to increase your calorie intake to 1300-1500 depending on your activity levels. Less than 1200 may be way too low that it's causing your body to go into survival mode because you are "starving." (I was doing the same thing, less than 1200 calories yet not much wt loss). For 2 weeks, try to up your caloric intake to between 1300-1500 (based on your age, wt and height, your caloric needs is actually 2200 to maintain wt so 1300-1500 is your calorie requirement to lose weight). Make sure your food is nutritious, and clean food, and high protein. You can also try calorie cycling, which is a whole other thing. I will do the same. Good luck to you and me and to those that have the same problem!

      @madhusudan 6 месяцев назад +2

      2 thoughts: First, if your waist is trimmer but you're not losing weight, then perhaps you have lost some fat and added some muscle. In other words, losing weight isn't the be-all-end-all. Second, as the video suggests, it's entirely possible to be eating healthy but still overconsuming calories. In this case, reduce your portions. My own method is to actually strictly measure (either using measuring cups or a scale) the portions and eat the same exact thing each meal. Or, at least have a very small number of alternatives that you know the proper portions to eat. Then weight yourself weekly for feedback. If you're not making progress, reduce the portions slightly. Something sustainable long term is going to be just below your maintenance calories, which means there is no room for a big blowout once in a while. Doing that can erase an entire week's progress.

    I lift weights for 2 hours a week with a trainer and do 5-6 hours a week of cardio (treadmill, bike, elliptical). I have a meal plan of 1600 calories (120g protein). I am very strong but I’m still fat. 5’4 154lbs and can’t lose even half a pound. I quit drinking completely 3 weeks ago and prior to this I starved myself at 1,000 or less calories for probably 10 years. I know I need to regain my metabolism after constantly under eating but I’m hitting my macros perfectly day after day. It’s very discouraging. I’m told over and over again it’s under eating. Is that true with this regimen?

      Undereating is rarely the cause of not being able to lose weight. Some adaptations can occur after severe restriction for a long period of time, but it's not as great as most people think. If you believe you've been accurately tracking your calories for many months and aren't seeing results, you may want to see a doctor to see if you have any medical conditions that may be affecting your weight loss. You can also check to see if you have been tracking correctly: ruclips.net/video/CdqBtZEVBAA/видео.html

I'm only 2 weeks in but I've actually gained 2lbs through eating healthier and decreasing my calories by 500 or more per day. I've also started jiu jitsu at a gym where I train 3 to 4 days out of the week so I'd like to think I am burning off a lot of calories on those days. Congrats on your progress! 👏 I generally estimate maintenance calories at 13x bodyweight. So for your current weight it would be around 1900 calories a day. I’d initially try a 200-300 calorie deficit (1600-1700 calories) to see how it goes. You’ve added activity as well, so normally I’d probably set it at 1700 to start, while also checking daily protein intake. It’s all an estimate, so I tend to check in every 2-3 weeks and see how results are going and then make adjustments.
      What calorie intake are you targeting now? And do you know how much protein you’re having?

      Start by tracking what you're eating and seeing how many calories you're taking in.

  • @infotoknow9486
    @infotoknow9486 Год назад +1

    From my experience, the real problem has been carbohydrates. I say that because most of the things that contain carbs are high in carbs compared to, say, steak or chicken. You need a lot more protein and veggies in A. With far less calories than if you're to be adding many carbs. baked potatoes are really good for you if you eat the skins Because they have selenium and a lot of fiber and many more things. However, if you look at potato chips, they come out to be like one carbohydrate per chip with no fiber to counteract the carbs. Staying as far from white sugar and white flour. Is a great idea. Our bodies are just not meant to have those in it. And I don't care what people say about crackers that have fiber and whole grains and such. They're still high in carbs because nobody ever eats what's a real serving. Or most people don't. So you have to be really careful. And it doesn't matter what carb. And all proteins are not created equal. if you're going to try to get a good amount of protein say 50 grams, you can do that with steak. But if you're doing it with beans, you have to eat several cups of say pinto beans to get 50 grams which are also high in carbs per serving. It's also a proven fact that lean red meat like sirloin has very important nutrients and vitamins in it that you cannot get from veggies and other sources. if you're eating eggs, you have to eat 10 eggs a day. Chicken and beef have very different nutritional values. They can choose what they eat every day if they want to eat a piece of cake every day. They can do it. They just. They just have to make sure they're not having a large French fry that day too. You can have carbs with every meal. I suggest things like baked potatoes with the skin, 7 grains sprouted bread. I cook eggs in avocado oil spray. So watching your carbs is important, both the type of carb and how much you eat daily. Most people can do well with eating a low carb diet. If done right. You're not keeping yourself. from your favorite foods. you just have to tweak it until it does the job.

      Since you’re new to weight training, I would focus on building strength and muscle. Make sure that your training is progressive. Give yourself a year.
      Maybe worry less about the calorie total and focus more on the protein (as you said), but also fiber (20-25g a day) and some fats. Focus more on the quality of the nutrition you’re taking in. Pay attention to how it makes you feel. In some cases, that means slightly more calories. Hope that helps!

      Being menopausal or post-menopausal itself is not associated with fat gain. For anyone 35+, the emphasis on weight training and consistent protein intake becomes more important.
