Words cannot express how much I appreciate the men who flew these old war birds to help protect and extract our ground troops.

I was born in 1958 , so by the time I turned 17 and joined the Army in 1975, I missed Vietnam by 2 years , But being the Airborne Infantry 1/509 in Italy there were plenty of Nam Vet pilots still serving , and when we conducted Air Assault training operations , Those guys seem to re live their days in country and fly like hell & we enjoyed the heck out of it, Tree top flight , sitting in the door with the skids kicking up dust & leaves was like no amusement ride you could ever find, Salute to those old Choppers & Crews !!!

I love this UH- Huey. It is so cute and good looking. When I was a boy, I was very excited when I saw it flew across my house while I was playing with my friends in front yard. It flew so low that I could see the soldiers clearly. I waved to them and jumped up and down. Vietnam in the year of 1973

With Ft. Belvoir Marine base being close by I heard this growing up al the time over the neighborhood.... Iconic! That sound will never be mistaken! The Huey had that distinct sound like no other and you could hear it coming from a mile away!

My all time favorite helicopter. I got to go inside one of these in the early 70s when I was young and there's nothing like the sound of a huey

Huey 369 was in my unit the 498th Dustoff in 1971. Have flown in it a couple of times since coming home, one time with one of our Pilots that I flew with in Vietnam.
