Hi mate when does the trout season start and end looked on the gov website but can’t understand it also do you use barbless hooks? should i use singles?
Hi mate, trout season ends 30th of October in most of the country. There's some rivers/clubs that don't allow fishing for trout with lures as well, always check that first just in case. If I'm using a rod with a lot of backbone I use singles, If I'm using a moderate action rod I need to use trebles otherwise the hookup ratio is really bad. But it is always better for the fish if you can use singles and barbless 👍
Bostin session mate. Anotger good little rod for the money i had last week was the handing magic L in 1.4m ul, spund for tight swims bro. And another superb vid
Thanks a lot Patrick! Yeah it just different, I can tell the difference especially with perch and pike. The river ones fight way harder than the canal ones! It's going to be fun in the summer if we have some good hot days I can just go in shorts 😅
@andrijasente I don't really know the area, sorry. I've actually been there once targeting zander but that's it. Just be aware that there's a lot of bylaws for trout fishing during the coarse closed season, some places just allow fishing with worms or fly fishing.
Who's excited for this trout season?? 🎣

Nice catches, wasn't sure whether that stretch had many trout in. only a 5 min drive away so might have to check it out.
It's a good river overall, I would say! My PB trout came from this river but different stretch. Thanks mate.
Looked like a great day on the river !! It’s amazing how strong river fish are !! All that time living in current. Great stuff !
