We just came from watching this movie here in Chihuahua Mexico, and I really believe they missed a great opportunity to market this movie for the Mexican public, it's one of the best american movies with very accurate Mexican culture references, a believe me when I said that not many has done that, they think they did it, but nope! The music is so correct, the slang, the cursing, the family dynamics. This movie deserved a Black Panther phenomenon for Mexican people! If only it was the green and red Beatle and not the blue one!😅🇲🇽

The aliens that made the suit built or breed them to be a match for a green lantern who are only a little weaker than kryptonians, that's why it's so powerful.

I don't think it's fair to say it's the dad's heart attack was his sisters fault. The scene was clearly trying to highlight immigrant families being ripped apart by ICE. It's extremely traumatizing and it makes sense someone would freeze up when a bunch of armed people were just pointing guns at you. Especially given the track record of immigrants dying in ICE custody due to negligence.

On the subject of Jaime letting Victoria Kord die, I feel like it’s the type of situation where he can’t exactly argue with the feelings that are in play. Especially after seeing the flashback.
The knowing looks between them kinda conveyed that to me.

The "suit" is an alien biotech that absorbs and transfers energy, so the suit is sort of part Venom and part Black Panther that was designed by aliens for use by Green Lanterns, so there is an element of "Will" in there too.

Given the canon reasoning behind the Reach creating the Scarab tech in the first place, the sequel might do well to bring in Green Lantern.

I don't think Gunn should be thinking about Young Justice at all. If Blue Beetle is actually sticking around, I think the goal should be to make him DC's Spider-Man. He's the relatable teenager with "great power", right? What's one thing we've learned from the recent failures of the MCU? "Don't spread your net too wide." Set up a core cast of characters for fans to care about. For a very long time, the MCU had only four main characters. That created an excellent foundation.

@@BaithNa I'm not against a Young Justice or Titans movie in principle, but first you have to establish a functioning DCU that general audiences care about. Or neither one of those teams will be profitable. Logically, Young Justice shouldn't come before The Justice League.

Nah. Khaji Da is powerful af on its own and only needed a native host to facilitate a covert invasion of earth. Green lantern rings are literally afraid of the scarab.
Jaimie true merit in the comics was being able to reprogram Khaji Da several times to make it independent of the Reach.

I didnt have an issue with how the suit looked, I thought they did a great job with it for the live action adaptation! And yeah, the suit is supposed to be that powerful - it's alien tech, which is why I'm always fine with handwaving how it works at all. It's supposed to be powerful enough to match or even beat the Green Lanterns, the enemies of the Reach/scarabs.

I loved when Jaime told Karapax that his family made him strong. His entire journey is about him and his family. So it makes sense that emotionally, it's the thought and support of his family that pushes him forward. I also don't see a problem with Blue Beetle being part of a larger DC Universe. He fits right in. I loved all the Ted Kord stuff. That has massive potential. A hero with tech that doesn't always work? Because Victoria did imply that his inventions didn't always work. I thought Sarandon was just there to collect a paycheck but she did get better as the movie went on. And in another universe, the actor playing Karapax would make for a great Bane. There were so many parallels between the characters. Also, Victoria Kord might be Latina but all Latinos are not the same. We're of varying races and culture. And it would be more accurate to describe the Reyes as Hispanic.

I thought George Lopez was going to get in my nerves, and he was actually hilarious in this and used really well. If it’s a metal suit, then people will say it’s ripping off iron man. It’s not power rangers. It’s more similar to kamen rider from Japan who James Gunn is a fan of.

I love that movie, ❤ Wow. I was surprised how different it is. If someone would say it's a DCU movie I'd take that.

@@handsuporillshoot381 What? Hell no. The Flash is a good movie, just as good as Shazam 2. But Blue Beetle better than both of them!

When I see the Blue Beetle slice a bus. Great since the Bus is extremely similar to buses in my local area. For the obvious reason it was filmed here. My reaction is "Great. The Buses is going be late again.". I am going honest with you Grace I was bit bummed that my Home Town wasn't used in the Movies like it was in the Comics. El Paso Texas.

i ennjoyed it but the events of the movie would/should not have happened due to a big plot hole. the hole: jenny steals sanchez's key card, leaves, and he somehow gets back into the room without it. i imagine he should have thought he dropped it, backtracked, then gotten security to open up for him before he noticed the scarab was missing, in the meantime, jenny is gone and jaime stays jobless and powerless ( don't let me direct anything, haha)

I just finished watching the movie, and I'm curious how they work the subtitles in the US cuz the whole time I was noticing just how much they didn't put into the subtitles when they spoke in spanish. You really miss *a lot* if you don't know spanish

Ted Kord is Jason Sudeikis there's an impressionist painting on the wall of his abandoned mansion and you see him with his daughter and wife. You can't see him all the way because impressionism but the resemblance is uncanny.
