That brings back lots of memories from our Panama time! Make sure you attach the swivel to a shackle and then to the anchor. This protects the swivel from side loading. Enjoy French Polynesia, we spent two years there.
Thank you for the tip!! The swivel for the Ultra anchor is designed to fit in a a lot in the anchor, I am not sure how to interpose a shackle🤔. We will contact Ultra Anchors for advice. We are looking forward to our time in FP😊😊
Watching you from cold Norway. Thanks for all the good advice regarding provisioning in Panama. Hopefully it won't be long until it's our turn to do the same as you and then it's good to know that someone has shown the way. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching, Panama City was a great place for provisioning. Congratulation on your future cruising, we hope to cross wakes somewhere in the world.
Great video, as always. It was nice to meet you all on the dock in Panama. Hope your crossing was uneventful. Ours was fine but slow with a lot of light wind days and more motor sailing than we would have liked. All the best on your continued adventures!
Keep a close eye on the Chain you buy in Panama. In most cases it is Not for Marine uses. I believe the Wynns got there chain from Panama and it was gone before they got to Tonga. Thank you for this week's video. Wish ya'll was coming to the Big Island. But I understand the French Polynesian Islands are just as awesome. Ok until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!🌋🥂🍹
We are familiar with the Wynn’s experience and were told not to buy chain Panama. Our chain came from Italy. Thanks for the heads up! Wish we could have gone to Hawaii but it was just a bit out of the way this time around. 😊 Thanks for watching!
Neccesities TP, Dog Treats, TP, Leather chew toy, TP, Posiden rub on tattoo for crossing the Equator. 🤪 Poor Yoda seemed a bit thinner, 3 blood draws...tsktsk. Fair Winds 😎
Your provisioning looked like fun , I really like shopping at a market rather than a supermarket , but rarely get a chance these days . How many supplies did you have left when you reached the Marquesas Islands ? Looking forward now , to the videos of the passage 😃🍻
That market was awesome! Way better than traditional supermarkets. We didn’t have much left, just one pumpkin. But there was no wind from Panama City for a while so we ended up leaving 12 days after this and only went to a pretty terrible grocery store right before leaving. And our passage took 33 days. 🤯
That shore is a purty anchor!! Do you freeze your flour, rice, grains, or just vacuum them? I'm sold on freezing them for about a week to kill any kritters.
Great video guys as always, thanks. Quick question on the anchor, Ultras are no doubt one of the best for sure, did you consider the Sarca Excel another Seawind option??
Great stuff. I know you must be halfway there by now, or even in FP, but I'm just curious...do you have any idea how much weight you saved unpacking all the processed foods of their packaging, and even how much cubic space you saved? Fabio might be able to give you an assessment on the cubic meterage of spaced saved. Will you cook All meals or just dinners? Do you find it easy to cook on the 1600 at sea with its galley, or do you prefer cold meals at those times? Can you give us an idea of the types of cuisine you will make during passage? Or will that be for the next videos? How much weight was saved or added with the new anchor and chain? I hope all your guests have their sea legs with them? You didn't say anything about your weather window, I'm assuming it is good? For how long? Your anticipated travel time, 7-10 days?? Fair 💨and following 🌊 for you all on ⛵Wanderlust!!!
😂😂😂 wow! We don’t know how much space and weight it saved by removing the packaging. The main concern are bugs in the cardboard and hiding under the labels. We’ll include information about the meals and such in an upcoming video. If the sea state permits we cook but if not pb&j or tuna fish. The anchor is the same weight, the chain was longer but ended up being the same weight as our previous chain. 8mm G70 Aqua 7 100 meters 134kg 10mm G40 galvanized 60 meters 145 Kg The rest will be in future videos. 😊 Thanks for watching!
@@HarborsUnknown Ah I see. I remember you saying that, but I thought it might be interesting to know. Thanks for the prompt reply. Safe travels to you all.

We only vacuum them. I haven’t heard of freezing flour and grains, I’ll have to look that up!

Yes!! Sarca excel is a great anchor, there are a number of Seawind 1600 that have employed that option. We just liked the ultra. thanks for watching.
