Hi Elmer, thank you for your support and for following the channel. We are learning something every day. Lots of systems and lots of equipment to familiarize with. The boat sails like a charm despite our relative inexperience. Kristin and I sailed back from Key West in gusts of 30 knots and big waves and she was totally unbothered. Solid and forgiving

The 1600 was tops on my list of boats to sail away on. Unfortunately the cost meant I would have to wait 5 years. So we bought a used FP that we love. It's a very good boat for living space, but the sailing performance is not fantastic. Great tour of your boat. Looking forward to seeing it perform.
Thanks John! It’s better to have something you can sail now. Who knows what will happen over the next 5 years. We recently sailed down to Biscayne Bay from Ft. Lauderdale in steady 20 knot winds with gusts up to 27. We sailed very conservatively but she performed great!
Hi - enjoyed the tour - we were on the 1600 at the Miami boat show last Feb. It’s good to get a real owner’s perspective. We will pull the trigger in about 2 years and this is one of the 3 boats we have finalized on ( Balance 526 / HH50). Curious as to what boats you looked at and like before you made your final choice. Look forward to seeing more videos. Thanks.
Hi Monte! We’re glad you enjoyed the video. The main contenders we looked at were the Catana 53, Outremer 45&52 and Balance 526. The helm stations on the Catana and Outremer aren’t covered. The position on the Catana is really exposed. The Outremer living space was a bit small. The Balance 526 is a bit more than we wanted to spend. All things considered the Seawind was the best choice for us.
There are so few videos (none) that go over the performance sailing aspects of the 1600. If you are looking for more video topics, I would be very interested and appreciative of any videos covering performance against Seawind’s published polars and how she handles durings tacks, in gusty winds, varying sea states, etc. Enjoy your new boat - hope to be out there one day soon with my own!
@@secondwindadventures1646 Thanks for your additional comment! I just saw it now. We published a video yesterday that talks a bit about the performance in different conditions and includes the polars. Check it out when you have a chance and let us know your thoughts. Thanks!
